About 2 years ago I decided to try out Nutanix and learn a little about how it worked along with Veeam. Like most people this started with a Google search and several blog posts of others who have deployed Nutanix CE in their home labs, mostly nesting inside their VMware environments to save on necessary hardware. So, why not. I downloaded CE, carved out a VM on my VMware host, went through the steps and before long I had a single node cluster running. I setup a couple small VMs on it, added to my Veeam server, setup backups and backup copy jobs, and was off and running. Over time I left it running and didn’t really think much about it. Occasionally, someone would ask about Veeam capabilities with Nutanix and Cloud Connect, or something else, and I could show them, or test out what they wanted to try, but otherwise just left it running. Not too long ago, Nutanix released CE 2.0, however I waited, no rush to change what was working. Then there was the IT crash heard around the world .

I encountered the above error when using a new Windows server. I'm certain that communication between servers is normal, and the ports are open. I've successfully added several servers of the same type without any error. And I've tried the following:Disabling the firewall and antivirus software. Adding a new account with administrator privileges. Using the IP address instead of the DNS name. Checking the registry or services to ensure they don't affect the relevant services. Hello Veeam Community,I am reaching out with a concern regarding our Veeam version 12.1, as we are consistently receiving malware detection alerts on our VMs. The notifications specifically indicate:Potential malware activity detected: Too many files have had their names changed since the last backup; ensure they were not encrypted by ransomware. Potential malware activity detected: *.ttt (TeslaCrypt 3.0): 40 instances. Potential malware activity detected: *..txt: 2 instances.I have conducted thorough scans on both the VM and the backup, and no malicious activity was found. Updated 12.1The environment described in this architecture is one main datacenter containing 1,000 VMs and 100 physical servers. Each VM and physical server has an average of 200 GB of used storage space. All backups will be targeted to a primary backup repository and copied to a secondary offsite location. Proxies are installed on a physical server and use the network transport (NBD) method. The backup target will be ObjectFirst Ootbi set for Immutability and accessed via Gateway servers.
