Hey everyone, Was browsing the R&D forums (I know, I’m a traitor!), and discovered this post from Gostev announcing the end of VeeamPN!https://forums.veeam.com/post467237.html#p467237 This caught me by surprise as I felt like more noise would’ve been made around it, maybe I was one of the only people that used it, but I remember once dealing with a managed network that was refusing to integrate additional routes to perform SureReplica at a remote site, so I used VeeamPN to create a tunnel between the sites and create my own route that way! 😆 So long VeeamPN, you were awesome. 🍻

If I’m creating a Windows backup, for a particular drive on a file server….is it best to create a File Share backup or a Volume level backup (essentially both backup the same set of files).  ie which is most efficient or recommended as a best practice?

Hello guys, how are you?I have two backups at the moment, one is on storage and one is on external hard drives. The problem is in the external hd's the error that appears is this: Failed to connect to Installer service.Job has failed. See logs for details.Can you help me? 

I did it again. Went to hit the like button and missed. lol Can you uncheck best answer once you check it? It’s not a big deal, but the second I clicked it i was thinking, that is going to look odd.  

What an event! I will admit I was slightly nervous about attending my first VeeamON. From not knowing what to wear, looking at the heat and temperature for the week or what to expect.  My flight there only had a 30 minute layover which was a bit concerning as well. After getting swindled at the airport for a “TAXI” when the guy clearly took me in a Mercedes SUV, I sucked it up and paid the large fair and arrived at a beautiful hotel. (I knew the second I got in and he stepped on the gas it was going to be expensive lol)  The SUV was quite nice and he got me there quick but that hurt the wallet pretty bad. I quickly installed Uber for the rest of the trip.  The view from my room was better than expected and I wandered around by the pool and had a great meal at La Cote.  I believe this was the night Chris took me to CVS to get some snacks which was good as I didn’t have any clue where I was going and most likely wasn’t going to wander off solo.  Day 2 I had a coffee at the hotel and real

Hello friends, all good with you?I have backup making in a storage and in external HD's, the backup of the HD's is giving the following error: Failed to connect to Installer service.Job has failed.Can you help me to solve this problem?

Hi,I have a Dell Data Domain repository for local backups and i want to send some critical VMs backups to the AWS S3, to withstand disasters.So when I tried to create a scale-out using the existing Dell data domain and AWS S3, the interface told me that all tasks that use the Dell data domain will be updated to point to the the scale-out repository.Is there a way to keep the majority of backup jobs pointing to the Dell data domain and choosing some backup jobs to point to the scale-out repository?

We’ve been testing our Orchestration Plan and after failover to our DR site, the certs on our vCenters were replaced and broke the connections between our DRO and vCenters. Had to refresh the connection so the DRO can take in the new certs. However, when we tried to failback to our primary site, we had the login error to vCenter. The issue was fix when we had to go into the built-in VBR and refresh the connection in VBR itself.  I would tend to think that DRO itself would be able to restore the connections within its built-in VBR and VeeamOne. Let me know what you think or if I’m missing something here. 

Greetings everyone!I am very new to Veeam, did a few installs & backup/restore already with the software but still I’m way too far from understanding the full structure of the tool.Is Veeam a viable solution to backup vCenter Server Appliance? Currently the organization I joined recently has a nightly backup of the appliance. (doing a research about how Veeam can be a viable solution in long term, so I would greatly appreciate if someone can share their expertise on the matter, thank you!)

I have what I hope is a simple question. What’s the best practice for the a high availabilty SQL server for the VSPC or Veeam ONE configuration database. I see in https://www.veeam.com/kb2301 how to deploy SQL AOAG for VBR and VEM. I’m not sure if this applies to VSPC or Veeam ONE.

Hi all,I want to share with you a problem I encountered on a customer while upgrading Veeam Enterprise Manager from v11a to v12 latest release. The environment This is a simple Veeam v11a installation, VBR + EM.The customer uses Windows Defender for Endpoint (Antivirus/EDR) on the server, the exclusions are correctly set as per KB https://www.veeam.com/kb1999. The upgrade..Ouch! After successfully updating a dozen Veeam environments to v12, I start this new upgrade with the confidence "It works!".Once I get to the end of the wizard and start the update, at some point you receive the error "Failed to create website 0x80070020".This error is reported in the KB https://www.veeam.com/kb1992, where it is actually recommended to disable the antivirus. Support case and solution I was followed by a good Veeam support engineer, but there was nothing to do..unfortunately it was not enough to disable the AV (we tried everything, registry, powershell, voodoo rituals), but it was necessary to compl

Hello Everyone,SOBR has 10 NFS shares repos with Linux gateway, each time resync the repos from SOBR, all Repos become unavailable and I have to open each one’s properties and click finish to become available again.Any thoughts?

I'm seeing this error "Failed to process VM: Failed to create MachineMutex" when doing storage snapshot. I am not able to install Veeam Backup & Restore on standalone W11 machine.Keep getting:Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.andFatal error during installation. I was successful installing on internet connected W10 machine, but have not been in standalone W11 machine. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
