Error while Veeam M365 Backup

Hi All,

 

I am trying to upgrade Veeam backup for M365 frm 5.0.179 to 7.0.0.3604. the upgrade is getting stopped just when it gets started. Anyone faced this scenario. how to solve this.

Hi,

 

So the error you’re seeing is when MSIEXEC is being called with an invalid option or parameter, but of course you’re running this via the normal installer so that’s not something you’re defining.

 

If you go to %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup365\Logs\Setup you’ll find the install logs and can troubleshoot what it’s calling incorrectly.

 

However, I imagine you just want to upgrade and move on, as you’re on an old version of 5, I’d suggest upgrading to the latest version of 5 and then trying again. The version you’re on IS on the upgrade supported list so it should work okay, but as you’re clearly seeing it’s not 😔

Thanks for the quick response. I have tried to upgrade to version6 earlier. it was giving the same response.

Today, i have upgraded to the latest version of the version5 using an MSI file installation. it was working fine. but again upgrade to version 7 was hittng and error. 

The extracts from Veeam.Archiver.Autorun.lo file is listed below.

I cannot see any files inside the folder  %ProgramData%\Veeam\Backup365\Logs\Setup.

Maybe try upgrade v5 to the latest release listed on this page then try upgrading to v7 again - Upgrading Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 - Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 Guide

Maybe this will fix something if there is an issue in the installation files on the server.

Hi,

 

msiexec error code 1639 is invalid path, does this file exist:

“E:\From C Drive Backup\VeeamBackupMicrosoft365_7\Backup\Veeam.Backup365.msi”
