Hi,Does anyone know how to get Veeam to copy the Full backup + incrementals to tape daily? As in each day a new tape has both. Alternativly I would be happy for it to create a synthetic full to tape each day.Ideally i dont want to do a reverse incremental incase they decide to go to cloud as well at a later date.Veeam just seems to refuse to backup files it already has on another tape! Thanks for the help.

If Veeam could protect anything in the physical world, what would it be? I’m not just talking tech, I mean ANYTHING! Bonus points for the best & silliest answers! For me, I wish I could backup & revert my car! Having given a few of my cars some dinks over the years or driven over some questionable potholes, it surely makes me wish there was a snapshot/revert optio

Just a quick reminder to everyone that all good things must end at some point. The following products will no longer be supported by Veeam from the 1st January 2022.Veeam Backup & Replication 9.x Veeam ONE 9.x Veeam Disaster Recovery Orchestrator 2.0 (Formerly known as Veeam Availability Orchestrator) Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows v3 Veeam Agent for Linux v3Also in the near future is the end of support for the following products:Veeam Service Provider Console v3 (March 2022) Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v3 (April 2022) Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v4 (November 2022)You may be thinking “I haven’t seen an update for a long time for these products, I thought it was end of life anyway”. That’s because Veeam have a two-stage sunset policy for support. Stage One: End of FixWhen a Veeam product reaches end of fix, no further updates/patches or hotfixes are created for this as the general rule. In extreme case-by-case circumstances, an exception may be made. But you c

Hey guys, I require your suggestionIf I have stored backups in local repo in NTFS format and later realized it should be in refs, what should be the next step?Should I format the current repo into Refs or I add another repo of Refs and move the backups?
For those that use Veeam VCC there was an online reference by Luca Dell’Oca which was a reference architecture and best practice on setting up VCC. He has now updated the online resource to v11 so you can check it out here - Veeam Cloud Connect 11 Reference Architecture - Veeam Cloud Connect 11 Reference Architecture (vccbook.io) Very great reference for those in the Service Provider realm.
Can a support ticket be raised without providing a support ID ?
As part of the audit findings, the auditor is looking for the history or evidence that Veeam Backup and Replication were being patch regularly. Is there a way I can extract this?
As part of our audit findings on Veeam Backup and Replication v11a, is there a report or way I can extract a deleted disk file or backup file in the storage?
Hey guys,If my license in veeam has come to an expiration, I should add new license from the same account right so it won’t cause an issue in backups?

Hello, Recently, the Veeam B&R server was updated to the 11.1.0. (). When I first opened Veeam Console, The “Components Update” wizard was initiated and the update processes were started. The update of the veeam server failed with the status “Failed to upgrade host components. Error: 'Error 1714. The older version of Veeam Agent for Linux Redistributable cannot be removed.” What can I try?
Veeam recently released Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6, as part of getting up to speed with the release, I’ve been reviewing the help center documentation. Today I came across an interesting note within the backup applications section, something that was completely missing from the release notes. It said:Using multiple applications may impact the performance of your production SharePoint environment. This functionality will be deprecated in future versions of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo365/guide/backup_applications.html?ver=60 For a while, the advice to leverage the best backup performance from SharePoint Online and SharePoint Online derived services, such as OneDrive for Business, has been to leverage multiple backup applications. This note indicates a change in stance that may indicate changes behind the scenes. I try not to speculate too much on this blog, so whether this is due to additional testing, a change in guidance or requirement fr

It is always interesting, when thinking of special situations, to ask: What happens, when …Here are the answers to at least a few of these questions - for immutable backups in VBR v11:What happens, when…… removing immutable restore points?Task starts and ends up with errors. No restore point is removed.Warning when trying to remove immutable files… hacker changes date/time on Veeam server to remove files with next backup run?Excellent question! But it will not work! Configured period of time is checked at Linux server, not at Veeam B&R Server! So a job running one year in the future will create new files, it cannot delete old ones.… enabling feature at existing repository, not compatible with hardened repository?Veeam checks if there are backup jobs configured with an incompatible backup chain. If found, error is shown:Error with not compatible backups… changing a backup job writing to immutable repository? When backup chain is changed to an incompatible one, error is shown:… days
I performed a full backup on one of the Severs via Veeam Standalone backup agent. I want to test if that “full backup” is an accurate one.So, what I would like to do it restore that “full backup” on a different VM or a Windows Server. So I can compare. Is it possible?
Update Jan 13th - Latest version available on https://github.com/yetanothermightytool/powershell/tree/master/vbo/vbo-health-checker***It's always recommended to open a support case as soon you're facing an issue with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365. But as systems engineers, we somehow always want to know what happens under the hood That's why I started writing a VBO Health Check script which quickly gives some useful information about the health of a Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 setup. The script checks and reports possible issues/misconfigurations: - Backup Job Status per Job / Number of failed job - License expiration date - Check logs if throtthling occured on MS side - Possible slow backup due to slow backup repository - Proxy stuff (min. recommended CPU and Memory) - Check Windows event log for low memory conditions - Logfile with the findingsLogfile gets stored in “C:\Scripts\Veeam\vbo\vbo_healthcheck_<computername>.log”Note: The script is
