Hi Guys,Any best practice while doing backup of Veeam Agent for Windows on SMB shares? so that we get better performance?We are using shared folder option in Veeam agent due to fact that we do not have server in that location.Around 4 to 5 users in that location and does not make sense to have dedicated server. Only device present in the location is Synology NAS. Takes around 45 min to complete backup.Any possible option to optimise the performance ?
Erst einmal einen guten Tag in die Runde. Ich bin neu hier und habe natürlich gleich eine Frage.Beim Restore von Windows Dateien werden mir einige Server jetzt mit einem roten Symbol angezeigt. Diesbezüglich kann ich jedoch keinen Hinweis finden (Mouseover, Google, etc.). Die Sicherungen laufen jedoch fehlerfrei.Zeitlich fällt die Änderung in etwa auf mein Update auf die Version 12.1. Zudem sind es (zufällig?) die Server, bei denen ich eine Indexierung mitlaufen lasse.Ist es die Indexierung oder wird ein anderer Fehler angezeigt? Ich füge diesem Post ein Screenshot bei.Über eventuelle Antworten würde ich mich freuen.Schönen Gruß
Hello, Just getting into Veeam. Trying to install VeeamOne agent on my Veeam B&R box from my standalone VeeamOne server. However, it keeps failing out. I’ve tried unloading any anti-virus, disabling firewall. I’m running it using administrator credentials. It is not domain joined so it does not have any odd security policies. I’m using ComputerName\Administrator for the installation account. Hi, we have customer with VMware infra in Production and using Nutanix AHV in DR. They want to replicate from VMware to Nutanix and failback if needed? Is that possible or what will be the work around using veeam?

I would like to use it on an Openstack cloud platform, but this iso won't boot.I know that Veeam doesn't support officially this, but I'ld like to know if somebody here try this ?The iso was generated from my Veeam B&R 11.0.1.1261 on a Windows 2016 server backup.Here what I tried : - testing the iso on VMware environment = work - upload the iso on Openstack - run the iso with a flavor which have 1 cpu, 2Gb RAM and 1Gb HDDresult = No bootable device was found - create a volume from the iso - make it bootable - run the volume with a flavor which have 1 cpu, 2Gb RAM and 1Gb HDDresult = No bootable device was foundFor your information, the same step work very well with my VMR iso for Linux on my Openstack platform. Trying to upgrade Veeam from 12.0 to 12.1, and the original installer has left. How would we reset the credentials so we can perform the update? We thought our service account was used but apparently not. All attempts to update have failed so far. Part of the issue is most NASA accounts require PIV card authentication, and I don’t know if that plays well with a Veeam update. The service account is PIV exempt. The current version is pushing an old version of the kmod veeamsnap that won’t work with the current RH kernel. Why don’t we just rebuild the kmod in the fly every time a new kernel arrives like other kmods seem to work? Like CUDA for example.
After patching our VBR v11 to the latest 2023 patch due to the latest CVE reported, I’m asked to "Select Servers to update….”.Some of those servers in the list are production. Does this process require a reboot on those servers?Can I wait for a bit (days until a team decides when to reboot the aforementioned servers) and hope that no backups will be impacted if I don’t update right now? Hi EveryoneLooking for an advice on the best way to keep backup repository data replicated to off-site for redundancy.The setup is: 2x hardened Linux repositories each on Synology NAS.At the moment the backups are copied using backup copy jobs, however it would not copy all of the backup data chain, just backups created after the creation of the backup copy job.I would like to keep both repositories in full sync in case on of them is lost because of the disaster.

Hi there, I run an MSP and have just started to get get familiar with Veeam products. The community editions are fantastic.I’ve setup some Sharepoint jobs which are now working, but get a 404 error on a sharepoint file which highlights the job with a warning. https://xxx.sharepoint.com/All Users Shared/_catalogs/masterpage/v4.master A few questions if you don’t mind.How can I exclude the path / file or supress the error When SP backups are running - (Physical machine with CPU i7 4.0, 32Gb) spikes and holds 100% for long periods of time - is this normal? e.g. SP has about 30k objects Memory can go to 5Gb-15Gb - will it use as much as it can? I had some 429 or throttling issues, but adding more applications fixed it issueThank you very much,DP

Hi guys,We have to take backup from large number of virtual machines in our environments and sometimes backup jobs are still running during working hours. It has impact on virtual machines performance. Is there any way to define backup window for jobs and backup/replication jobs pause temporarily? Thanks
Friends,I have a backup scheduled to automatically run daily to a network shared folder on a windows 2019 server, which I access through a share as the local admin of that server.After executing this backup, the hd where this folder is located becomes available, showing the error stating that the folder is not accessible with the warning of "incorrect function".That server is a virtual machine and runs on hyper-v.This hd that is unavailable is mounted on this virtual machine (hyper-v).For me to solve this problem I need to turn off the virtual machine and also the host, when it starts it goes back to normal.Thanks,JJ

We are running a Kasten K10 v5.5.0, using MinIO as S3 storage. Kasten DR Policy has been enabled.Due to our backbone GitOps solution, Kasten has been uninstalled and then reinstalled from scratch on the same cluster. Cluster PassPhrase and DR PassPhrase are remained the same because are themselves managed through GitOps.What we are experiencing now is a pretty annoying / strange behavior. Hi all,With release 3.7.0, Ceph-CSI has finally introduced shallow read-only CephFS snapshots which are pretty much zero-cost compared to the "old" snapshot approach which required a full copy of all data on the values in order to mount the snapshot for reading. https://github.com/ceph/ceph-csi/blob/devel/docs/design/proposals/cephfs-snapshot-shallow-ro-vol.mdCephFS backups onto S3 with Kasten are almost impossible for me currently as the volume generation from the snapshot takes much longer than the configured timeout limits for even a medium amount of data (50GB) and uses a lot of resources.I would except shallow read-only snapshots to solve this, but it seems that Kasten still uses the old way. From what I gathered from the documentation, as long as the snapshot volume is mounted read-only, ceph-csi should use shallow snapshots.Is my configuration incorrect or has Kasten not yet implemented this? Hi All,I have restored two servers using veeam backup and replication. Both servers restored successfully but to a different host. However, when I login I get “No logon servers avaialble . . . “ error, I am also unable to login using the local administrator account.The Network is pointing to the server network on the new host and I don’t see any errors or anything glaringly obvious. I had Application-aware processing enabled on one of the restored server jobs but not the other. But I am unable to login to any of them.I did restore a server last week without any issues and was able to login to the Domain without any issues. Can someone offer any advice as I need to move servers off this host and the only way to do this is by Veeam backup. I have no option to migrate via vmotion or directly via the Hosts themselves.Thanks in anticipation.
Hi, Veeam newbie here looking for recommendation on how to make optimal use of our network cards. Our servers are HP DL365s with 4 x 1Gbps on a single module and 2 x 10Gbps on a separat module. The plan is to follow the VMwar Best Practice document to allocate 2 x 1Gbps for Management and vMotion, 2 x 1Gbps for the VM traffic (VLAN 111) and 1 x 10Gbps for storage traffic to our NetApp (from where we mount the VMDKs via NFS). Our Veeam BaR server and proxy are both VMs and not physical and we have a separate VLAN for backup and replication (VLAN 333), and for storage (VLAN 222). A colleague says we are over-engineering this and backup traffic should just flow thru the same storage network. Any suggestions?
