OMV 8 as backup repository for VBR 13

Hi everyone, has anyone tried using OMV 8 (Debian 13.4) as a Linux backup repository for Veeam VBR v13? I checked the official documentation for VBR v13 compatibility, but it currently only lists support from 11.0 up to 13.1. Would I be safe to proceed with the OMV 7 to 8 upgrade?

This is something you’d definitely want to test with a separate repository server from what you currently are using in production.

However regardless of if it works for you, it should be approached with caution, since if you run into issues and reach out to Veeam support for help, they very well might tell you you’re running on an unsupported version and can’t help you unless you downgrade.

To directly answer your question, no I have not tried using OMV 8 as a backup repository server, and can’t confirm if it would be safe to upgrade.

I would not try it in a production environment you expect to receive support for.

Versions outside of what is listed in the System Requirements in the User Guide are unsupported which may impact your ability to receive support.

Stick with supported versions until support for your desired version is announced.
