I have backup job to create full backup to the disk then to tape. Total full backup no more than 2TB but why veeam use 2 tape catridge to backup this?

Each catridge have 10.9TB and one only one catridge should be enough.

Parallel processing will allow your backup jobs to complete faster. Next run it should still use those same tapes that were used before.

Based on the Media Set names in your screenshot, it looks like you have the “Media Set” configuration set to “Create new media set for every backup session”.

If you want to write multiple backups files to a tape, you need to have it set to “Do not create, always continue using current media set”, or “Daily at _____” specifying the period you’d like the same media to be used for.

hi @Tommy O'Shea

Media set was set to ‘do not create’.

@hs08, do you have parallel processing enabled in this media pool? If so, Veeam creates one media set for each concurrent tape being written.
