We need to have the earliest restore points, how can I safely delete the old restore points so that we can retain the last x restore points? Where can I have the old restore points automatically deleted?

For backup job

For Replication job

Please take a look at this Community Post for the same question.

To recap, you can’t delete individual restore points within the Veeam console, but you can delete them from disk, rescan the repository, then remove the missing restore points from the backup properties.

Or, you can just reduce the retention on the backup job enough for it to automatically remove older restore points, then raise it again.

Is it the same for replication jobs?

Looks like there is a KB article for removing individual restore points by deleting snapshots. This should accomplish what you need. Alternatively you could also adjust the retention for the job.

I’ve done this by lowering retention for a short period. Works great.
