Hi TeamPossible to have one line command or script which can be ran on computer to check if backup is successful or not. This command will help me( probably others too!!) before the installation of windows update. Planning to run as pre-deployment task where patch management software checks if last backup is older then 4 days and its success, then patch installation will proceed or else patch deployment will wait until it see status as success. I think it will work better with exit code. Like Exit code=1;success and Exit Code=0 failure? In recent time we have see some laptop getting crashed, due to incorrect windows updates applied (restart of laptop by user) and we found that system cannot be restored using restore point since boot files corrupted.
Is there any best practices when implementing these two into work?Currently we have it setup as a SMB share folders and Veeam is sending backups to it.I did a little bit of research and saw that people are using ISCSI and connecting Synology drive to Windows Server and using it like that. As I can see they are using ReFS File System. What would be the best optimization when we have Veeam + Synology in our Environment.Veeam B&R and our main Synology are located in the same location within same subnet. After that main Backup is done we have a Backup Copy Job trough IPSec to our Branch Office where we also have Synology NAS with SMB share. With ISCSI I saw that people are using FastClone and I’m not familiar with it at all. What is the use of it?Any advices are welcomed 😀
HelloReinstalling Veeam how do I get my license back as my license expiration date is in 2024. Thanks,
I have noticed that if I go to Veeam Backup and Replication and look at our SOBR’s Space Usage Graph under the Summary tab, it shows just one day (e.g. it shows just Sat 9x instead of different days). This happened when we upgraded to version 12. Monthly Summary shows one set of datesWhat setting if any should I change? I have updated to the latest patch and still shows the same. Version 11 did not give me this issue.
I’m working on a server that someone else setup, so I don’t know much on it’s config sorry, but it’s Veeam backup & replication 12.I’m trying to restore an ad object, so i’ve found our AD server in the backup list, went to Application items and chose active directory. When it brings up our AD, I can find the deleted user, and when I choose to restore objects it asks for credentials to connect to: ad.mydomain.com.auI’ve tried all my credentials including the domain admin one, and it just keeps erroring with the message: The supplied credential is invalid.I’ve tried with just the username, with domain/username, with username@domain and it always shows credential is invalid.Any ideas?

My new technical paper “Cyber Resilience for the Modern Data Center” will available on Dell Education Website this Friday. You can download it for reference.https://education.dell.com/content/emc/en-us/home/certification-overview/knowledge-sharing.htmlThis technical paper provides information on multi-tier Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR). We will consider how to plan and design the cyber-resilient architecture for data recovery across three separate locations; will discuss the high-level and low-level design of this data recovery solution. This cyber-resilient architecture includes software-defined storage (SDS), unified backup and recovery software and backup hardware appliance. Veeam Data Platform is one of core components in this solution. Please stay tuned.
Hello everyone!I am preparing a documentation in setting up the Veeam Self Service plugin for vCloud Director version 10.3, we will use it as a guide for our lab environment soon. Can anyone please provide the port numbers and protocols required between vCloud Director, VEM & VBR. Thank you

Good morning, I’m new to veeam and my company would like to perform a health assessment on our existing veeam infrastructure. Unfortunately I’m learning veeam on production :) since our veeam engineer left the company.Do you have any consultants\companies that you can refer me to? Again, our goal is to get an idea of our current backup infrastructure health\risks and get a recommendations of what needs to be reconfigured\improved\fixed. thank you againSergey

Has anyone community notifications missing starting from August 1st?
Hi, My last 2 cases are not going smooth with the Veeam support. My first case was regarding this topic and I did finally solved it myself. Then I get respons with the question how I did solved it!My new case posted 1st of aug is still in status new. Is it really because of the holidays, or are there under-staffed? I know, the severity is low, as it is not urgent, but normally I get a respons faster. The question I did ask them:My Veeam server is on a seperated VLAN, other than my ESXi servers. My storage is DirectSAN accessible. Only If I use Instant Recovery or SureBackup, the NFS mount to backup repository (local storage on server) is going over the Firewall, and I want to prevent that. So I did create on my ESXi another kernel adapter in the same lan of Veeam and yes, the connection with NFS running trough that kernel and the mount is successfully, I can even browse, but Veeam referring in the job to the NFS via FQDN what is on another IP and therefore fails as the ESXi is communicat
Hi guys, I’ve just updated Veeam Service Provider Console from v6 to v7 and I got a communication error during Web UI component upgrade.Web UI is installed on a different server and subnet than VSPC server component.I checked the open ports and they were correct.By opening all the ports between the Web UI and the server the installation went fine.Has this ever happened to you? is it possible that the documentation is wrong and something has changed from v6?Unfortunately, I did not check whether it used any other port than the one in the documentation. (TCP,UDP 1989) Thanks Marco S.
I’m trying to figure out how to get notifications sent via email when a backup has been successfully/unsuccessfully completed. It is on a Centos server. I looked around in the Veeam settings by opening up veeamconfig ui, but cannot find anything in the Linux version about setting up email notifications like the Windows version allows you to do. I have also looked into setting this up in crontab, but do not really know what to put in the script to send an email notification.
Can we do SOBR config , by selecting only performance tier repo and AWS Glacier repo . No capacity tier. If SOBR not possible then can we take primary backup on Local disk and backup copy to glacier repo.
Hi all. I am quite new to Veeam. I was trying to set my laptop up to be backed up daily and at one point I selected VM as an option. I did eventually get it set up as an Agent Backup, but now I get these emails below every day and I can’t find anywhere to delete or remove anything so I quit getting this message. Any help?[Failed] Backup Policy: Agent Backup ….. (1 VMs) 1 failed

Our Azure blob storage was in the hands of another companies subscription. We’ve had that blob moved to our own subscription. Can we reconnect to a blob storage with a new path and still be able to use the backups? Will it pickup as imported object?
Hey guys,I am getting ready to deploy VEEAM V12 into my environment (finally - took 8+ months)I am needing to delve into RBAC controls and granular access rights via AD anyone have any advice or a direction they could point me in? thanks in advance
Hi All,Apologies if I am asking in the wrong place, but using VBR V11 Community edition.I want to simulate a DR event. I have taken a Windows Agent → Entire computer full backup to a USB Drive. Now i want to restore just some files from this USB Backup to a new server ( where the same edition VBR is installed. From the USB Drive on the new server , double clicking on the .VBK file launches Veeam, but my concern is the following window just shows “Restore”. I Don’t want to overwrite the entire server from this backup? Does “Restore” actually start overwriting files, or does this proceed to show more options ( and would be better named “Next”, rather than “Restore” ) ??Many thanks in advance.
