Someone can help me to understand how forward forever incremental work on immutable storage?Example the retention set to 7, the immutable period set to 7 days, block generated is 10 days and the source job with ‘no periodic full’ configuredThe time line is :Day 1: full backup Day 2 - 16 : incremental Day 17 : Day 1 full backup will be expired and can be deleted. Will veeam delete this point since the retention is over? If yes then how we can restore if there no full backup? Or will full backup merged with 2nd incremental, but 2nd incrementall still in immutable.

We tried accounts with local admin access to the VBR servers and VeeamOne, domain accounts with elevated privileges (plus local admin) and accounts with full admin VBR application rights and still got the permissions error. We followed this KB with no luck.  Whatever we do we get the permissions error.   https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/one/userguide/connection_to_backup_servers.html?ver=13 What rights do we need for this account to add the VBR server. Another note I was able to add the vCenter server with the vCenter Administrator account.

Hello,I'm hitting a wall as we do not necessarily want to configure OS credentials for each and every single VM. Sure we can pre-deploy SSH keys, play with Tag to identify the Guest OS (different types of authentication between Windows/Linux) yadda yadda, but there must be a simpler way.I have tried with a Linux VM:1. installed deployment kit, we could just predeploy it everywhere automatically2. it listens on 6160 (installer service IIRC)3. When running a job using Guest OS credentials: "Use management agent" it doesn't even talk to 6160 but claims that it's falling back to trying to connect to guest since transport service is not availableWhy isn't it just installing it using installer service? Is it possible at all to use VBR in some kind of "agent" mode (while veeam optimally takes care of updating the agents as it sees fit)?Or do we have to use it in this shady ephemeral client "access-all and install whatever I like" mode?

Hi everyone, has anyone tried using OMV 8 (Debian 13.4) as a Linux backup repository for Veeam VBR v13? I checked the official documentation for VBR v13 compatibility, but it currently only lists support from 11.0 up to 13.1. Would I be safe to proceed with the OMV 7 to 8 upgrade?

I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question. When you use VDC Vault as 3rd offsite copy for your backups, but want to write archive data for 5 year retention to Azure (same datacentre) - what costs do you incur (ingress/egress/transactional costs) when writing it off to archive storage? I have heard rumours of an archive tier coming into VDC Vault? 

in this configuration we run daily incrementals (Monday thru Friday) to disk (Linux Repository)on Saturday Morning (just after Midnight) we start our Tape Backups job,(there is only 1 job that looks at the entire repository)  it is a GFS job that Generates synthetic full backups for Weekly / Monthly retention.  the HP Library target contains 2 LT08 Tape drive that are streaming at about 540MB/Sec.  This would probably be acceptable with the exception of one 42 TB file server (starts about 1/3 of the way through the job and grabs one tape drive for 50 Hours+.)   This causes the Overall tape Backup to run up to 76 Hours.  Spilling into the next days incremental Jobs.   I’m considering a change to the Daily’s Backups jobs  to have them Generate Weekly Full backups on the repository, and then use Tape Copy Jobs to move the Full backups to tape?  is it worth the effort?  is it Supported?

When I try to restore from HV guest using “Copy To” option, choose a folder and the “OK” button is greyed out. I used to use this function all the time on this server before I upgraded to 13.01. Any ideas?

 In my Azure Local node the backup job always error for only one node with below error (node 03).If i scan the hyper-v cluster then all nodes is up to date. But after the job is run then this 03 node always back to  

After months of trying to get upgraded to v12, I finally got Veaam to v13 on Windows 10.   The backup speed is amazing, over 200 MB/s.  It is maxing out the 1 Gbps network.   The two tape drives are running at 76-80 MB/s.   I did have to remove my SCSI tape drive to get to Windows 10.   I will have to replace the motherboard to get to Windows 11.   Today, my 2.5G network upgrade arrives.  It wa $170 for two managed switched for VLANs and 4 NICs.  I ordered two TP-Link Omada 2.5G 5 port managed switches to get VLANs on my Fortinet firewall.  I need them to get more DHCPv6-PD subnets from AT&T fiber.  I am setting up VLANs on DMZ and internal6 for my workstations and servers.  I have four Brostrend 2.5G Ubuntu capable NICs cards.Two for my HP Z840 Hyper-V server.  One for DMZ and one for Internal6 for all my VMs.  One for my workstation and tape server.   By the weekend, I should have everything configured and ready to test network performance on Veaam.  

When I try to do this after specifying an output directory of /home/amonra I get:which doesn’t help lots.  What are you using /tmp when I explicitly gave an output directory where there’s loads of space.Now I guess I need to massively enlarge /tmp which is a problemD.

I just finished setting up our Veeam Enterprise Manager server and wanted to serve it as a website thats only accessible to our office WAN IPs. Does anyone know how one would accomplish this or if it is doable? I see the website in IIS and I do have a valid wildcard cert but support told me they could not help with design so I am unsure what the proper way to serve this webpage would be. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello Im very new to Veeam and i installed on a server Veeam Backup and Replication. Now i get this error message: (it never worked)  I read that the API Service needs to be started, but this is not working and an error occurs.  Also its not possible do uninstall the Veeam Software with the Error → Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. It is the adiminstrator user. The new Update i was able to install but also after this update f

Receiving error message “invalid system configuration detected”. Checked the logs under C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Setup\Temp\ but not finding anything. The logs end with Vmacheck upgrade.

Hi Veeam Community  I’m unable to run any backups on Veeam Agent for Windows (6.3.1.1074, free edition). While my setup was working previously, I now get the error “Failed to create VSS snapshot” when attempting to run a backup.My destination is an SMB share on a local Windows Server (Server 2022 OS). Other devices on my network (In identical configurations, “Entire Computer”) are able to back up to that share successfully, it’s just this one machine that’s failing.I have tried the following and it only kept the backups successfull without any warnings for 2-3 days and then reoccursRan the following commands:net stop vss net start vss You can also restart these services in services.msc: Volume Shadow Copy Microsoft Software Shadow Copy ProvideWhen running the vssadmin list writers command I see tha

While installing Veeam Backup & Replication v13.0.0.4967 from the ISO (Rocky Linux–based appliance), the installer stops mid-way with an “An unknown error has occurred” message from Anaconda.The traceback points to dnf/base.py related to remote package selection or repository fetching.This occurred during the “Downloading packages” stage. Who else has run into this error? Another error, you could run into is this “Appliance Installation Stuck on "Configuring addons" and the following KB addresses what to do correctly.

Instead of backing up the volume, it’s taking multiple copies of the data, one for each snapshot. I think you need to allow specification of which btrfs snapshots/subvolumes not to backup as otherwise you copy the volume multiple times which is really not sensible.
