We are experiencing an issue with Veeam Agent for Windows. During restore (source Azure Blob), only 100 MB/s is consistently written to the disk, but the network throughput fluctuates. It appears to me that a limitation is in effect. I rule out a limitation in our infrastructure. What could be the cause?

In the current Veeam Backup & Replication V13, a daily software updates summary is sent automatically.According to support, this can only be disabled as an “AI-powered summary” in “Veeam Intelligence Advanced mode.”Can this be disabled in all editions, please?

Sorry to rant, but I have nowhere else to turn, and it's beginning to impact our clients. Veeam 13 has been absolutely horrible to install on all our backup servers. The upgrades are breaking the installs on current backup servers. It is straight up failing to install and start the Veeam service on a brand new server, and Veeam support has been unable to figure it out for two weeks. I've put escalation requests in and I'm getting nowhere. has anybody seen behaviour like this? The people on the Veeam subreddit agree that Veeam 13 has been horrible to roll out.

I was wondering if someone could help with an issue I’m having in Veeam agent for windows, I get the following error when trying to restore files from a volume backup stored on a network share.  I am getting the environment prepped for upgrade to 13.One question i had is on the Windows agent…Should i upgrade them before or after upgrading to 13? Thanks! 

Hi teamI was tasked with creating a new repo in Azure and setting up new backup policies.I have created policy per service (Sharepoint, Teams, Onedrive, Mail)Services other than sharepoint have finally completed but sharepoint is not playing nice.It appears not to be progressing and been at it for nearly 7 days.Any idea what the issue could be? I have stopped all other backups for now but makes no difference.Any thoughts?  

(running Veeam 13, Community/Free edition on Win 11).I did a bunch of migrations and updates a month ago. Before doing so I set aside the existing Veeam backups, so I have them. When I try to import a backup for one server from it (just to browse and retrieve a couple files) it tells me "Path contains invalid symbols...",. But it doesn’t. I have a path with no special characters or trailing spaces or anything like that. The message isn’t any more specific.I’ve tried mounting the file share where it exists as a mapped drive and a network location. I would copy it into the local machine to try that, but there isn’t room.Also, the import dialog says “Specify a backup to import. You can import backups from a backup repository or any managed server.” but the dropdown menu only lists the local machine and my two hyper-V hosts, not the repository (which is on a network share).Thanks.

Hi allI was wondering if it is possible to create a backup job of a VM, without having access to the VM Host Server. I have installed Backup & Replication on the VM client itself, connected a backup repository, but when I try to create a backup job, it asks for the IP and admin credentials of the VM Host. Thanks for your help

Hello,I noticed something very peculiar. We use the Infrastructure Appliance v13.0.1.1071 for VMware Proxies and hardened repositories. The Backup Server is a Windows box running same version.Every night, we get an eMail saying that check for updates was successful for the Windows Backupserver but failed for all the appliances.When we enable the WebGUI on the appliances and login to their WebGUI’s on port 10433, we go to “Updates” which will say that the last check failed. But when we click on “Check for updates” it works fine. Updates are found, downloaded and installed. All good.So what’s the difference between the automatic daily checks and clicking on “check for updates” on each appliance? We never see the firewall dropping outbound traffic from the appliances around the time the automated daily update checks are done. Hey guys,I am facing the following problem: a client wishes to change services for copying their backup data. They currently use Azure Blob. They are considering several other services including Wasabi. They would like to recover their annual archives if possible.I know that through Veeam we can use the Move function to move backups, but we have more than 10 TB of data and I'm afraid it will take an enormous amount of time without guaranteeing data integrity. Currently, they don't have immutability enabled on their Azure bucket and wish to activate it on their next bucket.Is it possible to copy only archives without copying everything?

Hi All,Are there any issues getting reported with Veeam support portal?Seem to not allow me to login, presented with an error message:This page isn’t workingmy.veeam.com redirected you too many times.Try deleting your cookies.ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS Even after deleting my cookies, tried from 4 different browsers, 2 different laptops 2 different internet connections.Seem like something is not right at Veeam's end.ThanksArtik 

We are having one VM fail in our surebackup job, which is set at 7200 seconds for maximum allowed boot time. The VM runs twice, once it fails as running at 600 seconds, the second runs at 7200 and is a success. How can this be, 1. VM gets selected twice, and runs at different config in the same job. We are running VBR 12.3.2.4165. Thanks all….

When I try to restore from HV guest using “Copy To” option, choose a folder and the “OK” button is greyed out. I used to use this function all the time on this server before I upgraded to 13.01. Any ideas?

While trying to export.BAK file while using Veeam Explorer, it gives the following message what could be the issue. This same error appear by using instant recovery, recovering to the same location and alternate location, in addition to restore DB file to the same location and alternate location. DB Unable to attach database. | Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression. | The statement has been terminated. 

how to avoid this step?  

I have a question. My current tape server has 4 SAS ports attached to my Quantum LTO-7 library. I can’t fit any more cards into this server, so that’s the max number of drives this one tape server will support.However, my tape library physically has *6* tape drives installed in it. Obviously, at the moment, only 4 are in use, as that’s all my tape server can handle. But I have a 2nd  tape server I can use, and it has 4 unused SAS ports. So what I want to do is, add this 2nd server to my Veeam environment as another tape server, and hook it up to my 2 used tape drives. That way, I should hopefully be able to drive all 6 tape drives at once., and Veeam will see the library as having 6 drives total. There should be no problem with that config, right? Veeam can utilize more than 1 tape server, surely. And since the drives are all in the same library, even if I have media pools that says use up to 2 drives at once,  it wouldn’t matter if one of those tap

I tried to ask for help through the sales department, but my request has gone unanswered. Please help.

I am running into an issue where very large incrementals are being created even when the device is having little usage. On a 1.8 TB drive (1.56 TB used), an incremental of 980 GB and another incremental of 820 GB occurred a few days later in the past week. What could be causing this? I am using veeam agent for windows 13.0.1.1009

I wanted to abandon my bare-metal Windows Server/VBR12 instance because of Microsoft and finally switch to VSA.So I set up and configured a bare-metal test installation of VSA on the server.This server has a direct connection to the HPE MSL 4048 tape library via a SAS controller.Full of anticipation, I then read: "Note that Veeam Software Appliance cannot be used as a tape server." at: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/userguide/connecting_tape_devices.html?ver=13Seriously? That's incredibly counterproductive!Now I'm supposed to set up and maintain another server because VSA doesn't have the usual integrated tape server role? I also haven't found any option in the web UI to integrate and use the currently running tape library via a tape server, as is usually the case.Seriously? Did the DevOps team drop the ball here?

veeam one, new build. Was working but the user account needed a password change. I changed and rebooted the veeam one server but services wont start. All say error 1069: the service did not start due to logon failure however the account logs in fineany ideas? thanks

I reinstalled the old SSD into the new computer. I renamed the PC. Everything works, including Veeam Agent backups but I noticed that email alerts and Malware scan related errors still reference the old computer name even though the new pc name is displayed in the B&R control panel.Since updating to B&R 12.3 and enabling Veeam Threat Hunter, I get the following email alerts:[Error] Malware analysis session has failed unexpectedly: Action completed with error [Failed] Daily malware detection report (0 malware events for 0 workloads)On the B&R server, I see the following in: C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\Svc.VeeamDataAnalyzer.log

I understand from our network team, that the SQL agent running on Microsoft SQL 2019 causes the SQL server to lockup or the backups to lockup. Is there a method to configure the backups (data & logs) to prevent that?

Hi thereI have a question around hardened repository. A customer has purchased new hardware to implement a hardened repo and add it to the existing VEEAM setup (latest 12.x).I am trying to determine whether I should suggest to use the VEEAM Hardened ISO. I have downloaded version 2.0.0.8. Or should we stick with using Red Hat and harden that accordingly. My colleagues have done that before and we have the scripts to automate.I am new to the hardened repo game but I would think that using VEEAM iso would be simpler.What are the pro and cons?Also, maybe a silly question but it seems to me that the hardened repo is also built into the V13 virtual appliance ISO. Would it be possible to use v13 hardened repo and connect the repo to a VBR12 setup?Much appreciated.
