Hey Guys,In a customer environment where I deployed Veeam, I setup azure blob and added as SOBR, I found that in backup server used space for azure blob is 597 GB but in azure portal it is shown to be 1.8 TB. I am running two backups(file and VM). Can anyone tell what could be wrong?

I am trying to configure a virtual lab using the Advanced multi-host.  I am struggling wrapping my head around this on would like to know if anyone has good documentation on how to configure this and using it with VAO.

Hey guys,I have an azure blob repo and it is set up in SOBRI was facing an error where it shows offloading in azure blob failed due to  backup window setting. what should be done to get this resolved ? is azure expressroute a solution for this offloading?

How to take full monthly backup in tape  and also tape are change the retation or identityfing its full backup.

Can anyone tell why veeam doesn't provide database backup such as MSSQL? There are many backup softwares that can backup only database so how is veeam different from them? 

Hi @all,i am new by veeam. I have installed the community edition and will testing backup. Next week i have a tech demo with a veeam consult for full version. But now i will testing the free funktions, and i have added my S3 Bucket. The connections to Amazon S3 works, but when i will configure a backup job, i cannot choose the s3 Storage as backup destination. It there a limit function for this storage in the communitiy edition?Many thanks forwards Stefan

Hello,a customer has the problem that his VBR server has gotten very slow the last days and since today some agent and plugin jobs are failing (and yes, agent and plugin jobs only are failing, no VM backup jobs...).I had a look at the server and it has hit the 10GB constraint of the the MS SQL express edition for the database size…Is there a procedure to shrink the database? For example to delete the session history or something else?The setting for the History under General Options is  a option how much entries are shown in the console but not how many entries are saved in the db.Any ideas? 🤔

I have a v11a server backing up @80 servers to an on-site ALL FLASH ARRAY connected at 40Gbps. Does a nightly job without any issues. But it has a 7 day retention policy and then we copy out to a DROBO appliance which is connected at 1Gbps. Since it is only doing the copy job work, no problem.We recently needed to do some file restores and found out that the restore speeds were very slow off of that device @ 10Mbps which is pretty much unusable. So my question to the community is this. What would be a good device / configuration to be able to keep my GFS , older, backups on locally that would offer a reasonable cost / capacity / data protection? I looked into using the S3 cloud as well and the upload speeds were terrible for me, like 8Mbps and download at 75Mbps. If I have to restore  500GB of files that would be way to long.  Almost al of my servers are Virtual in VMWare running in a CISCO UCS Chassis connected at 10Gbps to the switch. We recently ran in to an issue as noted here in the forums - Ubuntu Hardened Repository - Path is not XFS - Veeam R&D ForumsHas anyone seen this and come across a fix?  We are working with support on it but wanted to ask the community.  The server has been working fine and the path is definitely XFS as we validated everything.Error - 

Hi, everyone! We have a single VM that is over 65TB in size, that we are backing up. We have run into a snag. VMware maxes out at 65TB, so we are running out of space on this backup and we don’t know what route to go in terms of setup. Is SOBR the preferred backup infrastructure for a VM of this size?

K10 4.5.2 K8S 1.22.3 Redhat Openshift 4.9.12K10 can make workload snapshot, but can noatpt make Application Components snapshot and Application Configuration snapshot. Hi.Have a problem with Multicluster. I forgot to disconnect a cluster from multicluster before I destroyed it.I then did the disconnect, but it stays in “Removal pending” on the console. Is there a way to force the removal to pass? Regards,-Ulf 

Hi, What we have:A Protection Group (protection-sql) containing SQL Server Cluster: sql_c01 with two sql Servers. sql1 and sql2 I have one agent Backup Job bj-sql-01 , Type “Failover Cluster”. Useing a sobr with aws capacity and archive tiers.  Anything is working absolutely fine. Backup ist fine. Offloading is fine. Whats going on:Both sql servers will be renewed. There will be two new sql server. sql1-new and sql2-new (agent already installed) After installation, both new sql servers will useing the same SQL Server Cluster sql-c01 sql1 and sql2 will be turned off.My Accepetion:Should I build a new backup job (clone) or is it possible to keep the existing backup job. bj-sql-01 ?I would manually initiate a Protection Group rescan. The new sql-server should appear in the Protection Group protection-sql the OLD sql server should disappear, because they do not belong to the sql cluster anymore. Hallo Zusammen,Ich habe ca. 20 VMs in 5 Jobs aufgeteilt wegen der Häufigkeit der Backups. Das OS der VMs sind nahe zu gleich bei allen VMs. Es sind alles Windows Server 2019. Wirkt die Deduplizierung der Jobs die mehrere VMs beinhalten auch auf das jeweilige OS oder nur auf die einzelne VM?Gruß   Kostas 

Hallo Zusammen,ich verwende V11 Standard Edition auf ein ESXi 7 Server mit ca. 20 Windows Server 2019 VMs.ich habe derzeit zwei Partitionen. Eine Archiv-Partition W: mit ca. 600GB bei ca. 3.5Mio. Dateien. Das sind Source Files von Software Projekten. Die Produktiv-Daten liegen auf der Partition C:Es würde reichen die Archiv-Daten einmal pro Woche zu sichern da sich sich normalerweise nicht ändern werden. Die Produktiv-Daten würde ich täglich sichern.Es geht auch um die Wiederherstellungszeit falls notwendig, da ich im Desaster-Fall das Archiv nicht mit zurück sichern müsste, zumindest nicht im ersten Stepp. V11 bietet die Möglich VMs komplett zu sichern und auch Volume Backups. Ist es Sinnvoll Volume Backups zu erzeugen oder ist Veeam so effizient dass ich mir das sparen kann? Die 600GB sind keine große Datenmenge. Allerdings die Aufteilung auf 3.5Mio Dateien ist durchaus ein Problem, mindestens beim Restore. Alternativ könnte ich das Archiv auf eine separate VM auslagern da ich Micros

Hello,I’ve upgraded from 4.5.10 to 4.5.13 this week, since then my backups are failing.Looks like there is a new ambassador version since 4.5.12, which can’t be pulled (Back-off pulling image "quay.io/datawire/ambassador:2.2.2")Can’t find that image version on the quay.io registry. Is this a known issue? 

I try to backup a VM Machine on hyper-v but i get error: 20.04.2022 10:56:18 :: Processing DC-01 Error: There are no available IP addresses to connect to Hyper-V Integration Service.   How can I solve this, with anoter hyper-v server it works. Thx Peter

Hello everyone,I am trying to federate the Kasten setup behind an Ingress Controller (see here for more info https://blog.kasten.io/posts/how-to-set-up-alerts-in-kasten-k10-to-immediately-catch-failed-backups) . It seems that everytime my Prometheus server tries to scrape data from the Kasten K10 Prometheus instance, located at the address http://<ingress>/k10/prometheus/federate it requires a login. I managed to do that by passing “authorization: credentials: inside the Prometheus job config.Are there anywhere any best practices to do it? What kind of service account, with restricted permissions, shall I create in order to just have the exact permissions to get monitoring data?Thank you!Mattia
