Hallo zusammen,ich bräuchte bitte nochmal eure Hilfe und zwar würde ich gern final ein Backup zusätzlich zu einem NAS-Backup, auf ein RDX Quickstore USB Bandlaufwerk sichern. Da ich das Gerät in der Hyper-V Umgebung nicht so schön wie in vmware durchschleifen kann, habe ich es an einen Silex USB Server mit USB 3.0 Anschluss gehängt. Die Frage wäre nun, wie ich das Backup in Veeam einrichte? Meine Idee wäre einfach ein “Direct attached storage”-Backup Repository hinzuzufügen, da das RDX ganz normal als Laufwerk in meinem Explorer auftaucht und die Option “This respository is backed by rotated drives” in den Advanced-Einstellungen zu setzen. Das sollte klappen, oder? MfG

Hi ALL,I am running VBR11 and VBAz 4.0, recently all my AzureVM backup started failing. I still have over 3months of license validity.I can no longer connect to the VBA from my VBR console only can access from the browser.We are getting the following error; "Client secret has expired. Use a valid client secret or renew the application on the Service Account Type tab.This was done however the issue still persists.My Infra is still running older systems so upgrade was not an option hence no support available.Any thoughts?

Hi, we have applied the available security patches and upgraded our Veeam backup Azure version 6 to 7 Yesterday. Since then, we are unable to go to the url that the FLR creates for any of our restore requests using Veeam appliance portal. We have not made any change in Azure or in Veeam side except applying these updates. We have checked and all permission for service accounts are fine, the NSG in Azure clearly shows allowing port 443 for the worker instances vnet /subnet so we cant really think of anything else that could cause this issue. We have raised a support case with Veeam as well and they have asked us to try the worker IP address to browse to the URL that we also tried without any luck: Any advice would be highly appreciated. Hi all, At the end of the job it does not send the email because it cannot find the credentials:  When entering options to modify them I am getting the following error report And I can't do anything else, since clicking ok on the notice doesn't do anything else.Any idea? Thank you so much.

Hi all. Running Windows Server 2019 as a standalone Hyper-V server. The server is in a workgroup.I have installed the community edition of VBR 12, and configured my backup repository.When trying to configure a new Hyper-V backup job, Veeam gives me a message to say that it cannot connect to the ADMIN$ share. However, if I type \\localhost\ADMIN$ into the run box, then the folder does open.I’ve tried setting my host name to localhost, to the server name and to it’s IP address. I’ve also tried with the current logged in credentials, and have tried by enabling the administrator account.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks, and have a great weekend!

Good morning.I have VBR community edition installed on a Hyper-V standalone workgroup server.I would like to be able to set up replication to a Hyper-V cluster in my domain.Is this possible at all, and if so, is there a document that I could follow in order to configure this?Thank you.

I need to restore a VM to a vApp in VMware Cloud Director.  The Veeam docs say to “Launch VMware Cloud Director Entire VM Restore Wizard”. When I right click on the Backup that I need to restore, “Restore entire VM >” does not appear in the Context menu as it shows in the Veeam docs.I see “Restore entire VM to Nutanix AHV...”, but not the “Restore entire VM >” as shown in the Veeam docs.I am using Veeam 12.1.1.56 Community Edition, in case that matters.Any help is much appreciated.

Hyper V environment-Active Directory/DomainVeeam 12 is on VM1 on my domain pcBackup repository is a VM2 on a hyper v host1We have a firewall doing what firewalls do etcVM1 successfully added VM2(veeam backup repository) The problem:Tried adding a windows server VM3 to VM1(located on hyper v host2) - I get the network path & credentials error Tried adding a veeamproxy machine VM4 to VM1 - I get the network path & credentials errorThe AD admin user account used in above attempts works perfectly on all computers in my LANI used same ad admin account that I used to add VM2 to VM1(now listed in veeam as a valid AD account) for VM3 & VM4There is solid communication between VM1 and other servers, confirmed via icmp/pingsI have other hyper v hosts and dont want to be testing this on all of themWhat is going on here, is this a firewall issue? if so, what specific ports (you have a table full of ports) must be opened for your application and where should I focus these changes/policie

I’m just learning this software and I was wondering what were to happen if my backup server computer was destroyed or something went wrong and how I would be able to access the backup from a new computers server?I saw this article:  https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/importing_backups.html?ver=120But it mentions:The server from which you plan to import backups must be added to the backup infrastructure. Otherwise, you will not be able to access backup files.So I am wondering - how can I add that server to a new computers server if the original server is gone?  Would this mean those backups are never able to be recovered?  

Hello,Next year i will buy dedicated BareMetal server for VBR, tape drive and Azure HCI node for hypervisor.Currently i propose install VBR on BareMetal server and use local hdd as repository and as tape server also.Also i have another thought to install linux on the BareMetal and install VBR on the VM inside Azure HCI. But with this scenario, can i use that linux server as tape server also?Which two scenario above is best and whether anyone here have another best scenario also?

Hopefully someone here can help me:I have two Windows Clusters, one in Site A and one in Site B.  Inside these windows clusters are two Windows File Server Clusters as guest clusters consisting of three nodes in Site A (FS_CLUSA) and two nodes in Site B (FS_CLUSB) .  Each fileserver cluster is using a shared vhdx file as the storage volume.Ideally I would like to replicate FS_CLUSA → FS_CLUSB however Veeam does not support replication of virtual machines with shared VHDX or CSV volumes.We settled on the idea of simply doing a volume level backup of FS_CLUSA and restoring it to FS_CLUSB to keep the two clusters up to date (give or take a few hours).  I have been able to restore the volume from FS_CLUSA to FS_CLUSB via the console no problem, because I can specify a different target to the host.However reading the veeam powershell documentation to start to automate this process, leads me to the command Start-VBRComputerVolumeRestore (which only supports restoration to the original locati

One of our customers is currently using VBR 12.1. Customer is replication some VMs form Primary site to Secondary site. Customer is planning to run a script for installing some package during the replication job is running. When the VMs failback to secondary to primary customer wants run again script for uninstall the package.Is it possible to run this script during failback? If not possible what can we do in this case?Any idea?Thanks is advamce

Est-ce aléatoire, est-ce une configuration de l'autoloader que j'ai loupé ou une config sous veeam ?    J'aimerai que les bandes choisies soient en fonction du slot par exemple : les LTO weekly 1 à 6 (vierges pour le moment) dans les slots 1 à 6. This model requires three-way communication between NAS, the backup server and the backup device. Some advantages of this model are that it allows for better control over the backup process and greater scalability. Hi, I am testing with Veeam to find out if it suits our needs. My first backup job though already fails under the rescan. Running the guest credentials test gives me this error in the log:‘RPC client failed to call method [GetSvcVersion]’.I like to backup a Windows 11 VirtualBox VM. The Windows firewall is switched off on that machine. VirtualBox and Veeam B&R are running on the same machine. The VM is connected via bridged networking.The RPC services are running on the VM and the Veeam installer service on the Veeam B&R machine.Thanks for any help or hints. 

I’m experiencing an identical issue to this post on the latest version of Veeam B&R and Veeam Agent for Windows.  I’m creating a new post to learn if there is another option besides simply disabling the CBT driver.Veeam B&R Version: 12.1.2.172Veeam Agent for Windows Version: 6.1.2.134Windows Version: Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.4713Problematic Device: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 5Error: SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLEDFailed: VeeamVolumeCT.sysIn contrast to the original post, I cannot bypass this issue by leaving the device connected during boot.  Windows immediately returns the BSOD - or GSOD in my case - and experiences a boot loop.Uninstalling the CBT driver from Veeam B&R removes the issue but the implications of this solution are less than ideal as the Veeam CBT driver should be in use.
