Dear All,

Have a nice day.  I found a different on veeam backup version on my test environment 11 vs 12.2 on file save name. In the early version it’s saved as a job name single file but now it’s saved as multiple .vm name file, no jobs name. One job is created and this job has 10 VM, there will be 10 backup files showing.  It's looking odds lot of files.

I want to show it as the previous one in a single file. Is it possible? pls check the image.

Thanks,

Biplob

Short answer: No, this is a change introduced in v12.

Additional Info on Maurice answer: This is the new and recommended Default, yes.. And we would strongly advise to use this, you will benefit from it.

But, it would be possible to switch back to your single VBK for the whole job (even with v12).
Pre v12: To change this back on your repository (you have to deselect “Use per-machine backup files” in your Repository).
Now: the option must be deselected, when creating the repository:

Hi Dynamic,

that great.

Even if it’s possible, please don’t do it…

I’ve just created a new repo with your settings:

The introduced “True per-machine” Chain-format brings much more benefits, compared to a Single file.

Ok, maybe you have more files in your Repository, and you will lose a bit of deduplication savings, but you are more flexible, have Move functions, and so on. Here are some Details from @vNote42  (New in VBR v12: True per-machine backup files - vNote42).
