When backing up o365 data if I am using DAS like windows or linux, does the repository requirements remain same as for veeam backup & replication?

After reading MicoolPaul’s question “Linux Distribution of Choice” the answers to MicoolPaul’s question seemed to be more geared for a desktop.So I began to wonder what Linux distribution do people choose for servers in a production environment. Are people’s choice the same for a production server as their desktop choice? Of course, when you’re creating a Linux production server you don’t install an X11/Wayland Desktop Environment.In my environment, there some RHEL and Ubuntu servers. Linux appliances, provided by a vendor, seem to be CentOS, Ubuntu, and SuSE.What’s your production distro of choice?

We are trying to commission a new Veeam hardened repository for off-site backups (Backup Copy jobs). we have put the server behind internal NAT (i.e. using a private IP not an internet IP) as we feel this will improve the security. Backup jobs work but Backup Copy jobs do not and I am getting the impression that NAT is the problem. The primary repository is trying to communicate with secondary with its ‘real’ IP rather than the NAT IP. Can this be overcome?  

what is the best option to configure O365 backup in veeam? cloud to cloud or first copy on prem and second copy cloud

Hey guys I have a query,If I want to perform an azure SQL backup in veeam backup for azure and I choose staging server to process, what are the things I need to keep in mind when using staging server i.e, how can I add a staging server to veeam backup for azure, which region should the staging server be deployed? and while choosing staging server should I choose credentials of staging server or SQL ? Hello,I would like to know if we can process the emails sent from Veeam once a day (once the backup window has finished) and ensure we have 2 success emails for each job (one for the main backup job and one for the replication job stating the backup jobs and its status). I would like to get an email daily that will mention all back jobs have been completed and its status (Successful, Warning or Critical). EX. Can anyone tell the difference between Static IP mapping and IP masquerading? Both are trying to access VM in virtual lab, so what is the difference?

Hey everyone, I was working on reviving my decade old MacBook Pro yesterday, I didn’t want to put MacOS on it again because the only versions it supports are end of life, so inevitably I went down the Linux route. I prepped my USB, installed my distribution of choice (Ubuntu) and set it up as I needed (my dedicated GPU is dead so I needed a fair few tweaks to force the integrated one). As I was installing Ubuntu, it occurred to me, I gave ZERO thought to deploying anything other than Ubuntu, it’s just MY default go-to when I need a Linux OS. So, what’s your go-to? Why is it your go-to? Was it a feature, a security/compliance requirement? Was it the support? Ejection can be controlled remotely but to insert the magazine again, a physical manual task is necessary! In my opinion it is a super simple and effective method to protect tapes from attackers that would otherwise be unprotected if tapes would stay in library. i have on going PoC for Veeam VBR. customer want to take a Physical Machine back up(Dell Server) and want to restore it in another physical server(HPE server). is it possible or not. 

While backing up SQL workloads, the job returned an error saying “Unable to truncate Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs. Details: Failed to process 'TruncateSQLLog' command. Failed to truncate SQL server transaction logs for instances:  . See guest helper log. .” what could be the reason for this?In the sql settings, I enabled “backups logs periodically” and specified retention period. does these settings have something to do with the error?

Requirement with Deduplication in windows where if you restore OS files it will not work and throws the error “The revision level is unknown”.  Seems to be with the mount server OS versus the backed up VM OS along with having the deduplication turned on.Check this article for more information - KB2776: Guest OS File restore fails with ‘The revision level is unknown’ (veeam.com)

Hello folks, I got a question for you.I inherited an ESXi-based structure with vCenter and backupped via Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5.4.2866.Without deleting the job and redoing a new one (the size of the vm is very consistent), is there a way to understand if when the job was created choosing vcenter and not directly VMs?My fear is that if the job was created by choosing the vcenter, if it goes down I can't restore the structure.And I have no experience about it.
