Is there any significant downside to using Windows 11 pro as the OS for the BR server roles instead of windows server OS? I ask because I’ve been evaluating how to migrate our BR infrastructure away from our domain joined servers and one path I'm looking at appears to require using a client OS. The BR documentation appears to show all roles as supported to be running on the client OS. We have a pretty small deployment. I would like to avoid using a workgroup for the BR infrastructure if possible, so my thoughts are either (1) use another AD domain in the AD forest. (2) use Azure Managed Domain Services (3) Use the Free Entra ID and device management. Option (1) seemed like a nice option at first, but looking at the actual support requirements, it seems like it will add a lot of overhead and I’m not even sure I can reasonably avoid any chicken/egg situation where I’m starting from no running infrastructure and just repository backup data. Option (2) appears to be way too expensive

In the "Database Prossesing settings" window’s, we choose the option "DELETE archived redo logs that were backed up". The ARCHLOGS are deleted, OK, but With HP DATAPROTECTOR we used a script with these commands: archivelog until time 'sysdate-3' not backed up 1 times;delete NOPROMPT archivelog all completed before 'sysdate -7' backed up 1 times to sbt;crosscheck archivelog all;How do we do it with Veeam?Adrian

Hi all, had an internal report of having a challenge with taking a backup chain encrypted with 12.1 and being able to import those backups into a v12 VBR. Has anybody else tried this?I know that 12.1 is considered a non-breaking release and backups definitely work when you take 12.1 to 12.0 VCC servers, but not being able to import could be an issue, albeit one that can be worked around with extract.exe.

Fairly new to Veeam so this may be a silly question.I’ve had Veeam for Office 365 setup and running for a while, but recently my repository which had been working fine stopped working.The repository is a shared folder on a Buffalo NAS. Editing my Repository, and checking Free Space I get “Access is Denied”. yet through File Explorer I can fully access that share.

Doing a deployment first time for Kasteen outside using “operator” within OCP, and that also via IAC.Single server Ubuntu 22.04 + k3s + Cilium Load Balancer ingress services. A couple issues:When deploying, it I can now get far enough to be able to login but only when creating a temporary token vs the permanent one I built into the deployment. When I need to run deployment fresh. I run delete and it will not clear out namespace. Delete namespace hangs “terminating” and I have to run force delete. Deploy has error on several services that show errors.. Hello,I’d like to evaluate Veeam’s backup solutions. I’m trying to install Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows on a Hyper-V Server 2019 OS, but any attempts ends with a failure. Checking the installation logs reveals the error message "System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Fatal error during installation". This instance of Hyper-V Server has no additional software installed, including anything related to SQL Server (which seems to be the cause of this issue, as I found out from other topics about this error code).Is there perhaps a component that’s missing on Hyper-V Server that’s required for Veeam Agent to work?

I’m testing several On-Prem S3 Object Backups ( Backing up Object Storage in 12.1) no matter which of the 4 systems I try I get the attached error. All of the systems have “buckets” that Veeam 12.1 has written to, and they have data in them, and are set as repo’s in VBR that I am using for this test. Suggestions? Error is attached - I get it on all of them.

For security reasons, our backup proxies should not be domain servers. Can anyone tell me if and how I can add a non-domain server as a backup proxy? Both the server and the proxy are VMs and in the same networks.
