I am trying to make a second scale out repository (not overlapping with the first) and I keep getting the following message when trying to save it… “Summary: Failed to save scale-out backup repository: F:\Backup Copy” I got this message another time but pointing to a different directory, which linked to some orphaned backups. I deleted those in hopes this would fix it, but it just keeps throwing a different backup path each time. This specific one doesn’t even exist on my server under backup repos or disk backups (copies or orphaned), so I have no clue how to get past this. We can well backup Oracle databases sitting on ASM clusters using the RMAN plugin:Veeam Plug-in for Oracle RMAN - Veeam Plug-ins for Enterprise Applications But there is more to ASM clusters. You might also have ACFS as an Oracle-homed cluster FS. It is not used for the database files themselves as these are located in the ASM itself. ACFS is rather meant to host supporting files around the databases throughout the cluster (general purpose files, shared database homes, administrative files, log files, trace and audit files, scripts, etc.).It appears to be necessary to backup those files in conjunction with an ASM/RAC clusters next to the pure DB using RMAN and the Veeam plugin as well. Dead-end #1:Most Oracle systems run on physical systems for the “unconventional” license requirements Oracle tries to apply. we have backed up a Redhat Linux Oracle VM using normal vm backup and enabled application aware processing by providing required credentials. later backup was successfully completed. but when we start Oracle application based restore, it launches Veeam explorer for Oracle and directly asks for target server connection details for Huesrisitc analysis . As per documentation, after Veeam explorer is launched, we should be able to see and select our backup restore points. in our case it directly asks target server connection details. when i checked in Veeam documentation link given below, this target server details are asked for Hueristic analysis for non-application enabled backups.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/explorers/nonvss_restore_wizard.html?ver=120 below is the error we get in huerisitc analysis stage after we provide target server credentials, please help to resolve this issue.

Hello Veeam,My organization will be replacing Rubrik with Veeam to backup over 128+ production standalone DB2 database instances using Veeam Plugin for IBM DB2.Each of these database instances has a COLD DR site associated with it. We are running DB2 V11.5 Standard Edition on Linux RH. I’m trying to automate the installation and configuration of Veeam Plugin using Ansible. I was able to automate the installation portion. However, I’m looking for a way to automate the configuration piece, running the DB2ConfigTool --wizard.I’m seeking your help, and I would appreciate your input. Thank you

Hi Veeam,We are taking oracle database backup through Application-Aware backup job in Veeam.It happing seccessfully. Now, we are trying to restore Oracle database to another server (Same OS and Oracle version installed). We are new with using Veeam P2V. We’ve successfully P2V’d a couple of servers without a issue.We have been asked to P2V a Dell server running windows 2012R2. Has 1 Hard drive that is 1TB.We deployed the Veeam agent and backed it up OK. We migrated into production (with NIC not connected and powered off). Once it was completed, we removed the nic from it in VCenter and added the VMXNET3 adapter and the correct assigned the Vlan back to it. We powered it on (w/NIC not Connected) and the server comes up and displays “Getting Devices Ready” and it just sits there with circle spinning.Anyone seen this before and have any suggestions of what the issue could be?
Hallo zusammen,ich versuche mich gerade in das Programm einzuarbeiten.Ich hatte VBR zunächst in einer VM laufen. Die USB-Laufwerke wurden vom Hyper-V Server durchgereicht und es hat auch alles soweit funktioniert.Nun habe ich eine alte Server-Maschine reaktiviert und die bestehende Konfiguration von der VM auf den Server migriert.Auch das habe ich am Samstag hinbekommen.Heute habe ich dann gesehen, dass die VM’s nicht mehr gesichert wurden. Der Hyper-V Server war nach der Migration auch nicht mehr als Standalone eingetragen, sondern unter “Physical Infrastructure/Manually Added”Daraufhin habe ich den Server und die auf der VM lauffähigen Backup-Jobs aus der Übersicht gelöscht und versucht ihn unter “Invetory/Virtual Infrastructure” und unter “Backup Infrastructure/ Managed Servers” zuzufügen.Alle Bemühungen schlagen mit dieser Meldung fehl: Im englischen Forum habe ich dann einen gelösten Eintrag gefunden, aber die Lösungsvorschläge haben mich leider nicht weitergebracht.https://forums

I was going to move my Email archive storage locations from a datastore on my VMWare host to a NAS and then just connect that location to email archive VM via ISCI. My questions in will Veeam include that ISCSI drive and data on it in the daily backups? On Version 12 of veeam if that matters. I sort recall that it would not include that data in the past but not 100% on that. Thanks in advance.

Habe schon geschaut in den Ereignisprotokollen und es schein das es ein Problem mit dem WIDwirter gibt.Wenn ich auf dem System den Befehl vssadmin list writers mache dann sehe ich das den WIDwriter mit Status: Fehler 8, Letzter Fehler: Nicht-wiederholbarer-Fehler.Habe schon das System neugestartet und geschaut ob die Dienste laufen, das sieht alles gut aus. Nun hoffe ich das Ihr mir vielleicht da weiterhelfen könnt.Das System ist ein Server 2012 und Veeam ist Version: Veeam Backup & Replication 11.0.1.1261 P20230227Würde mich freuen wenn Ihr mir nun helfen könntet. Hi all,I have a VM running on Hyper-V 2016, its a Ubuntu 20.04.6 with MariaDB installed.So I defined a (cold) pre-freeze.sh and and post-thaw.sh and tested both in /tmp directory, it will work as expected when done with sudo, under the specified user. However when the backup job does that, it throws an error. I am able to see the secondary cluster in the dashboard but it is getting an error and not showing any detailed information. I am using token authentication and followed the steps for enabling access via the account settings.
Hi Folks, I have someone who ran out of space on their Linux immutable repo, they are asking to remove immutability on the fs (chatter -i) as root. I am wondering what Veeam DB will think? and what other issues might arise. They seem to say they have done it before then just rescanned the repo?

Hi, we have installed on windows 10 and 11 clients veeam agent free version 6.1.0.349, to backup to a QNAP NAS.We are unable to run the copies saying that "Backup target is not accessible. The user or password is incorrect. If I go to run edit the job and then launch it seems to work.But if I launch it again it doesn't go. I also set "When Backup target is connected" , but nothing.How can I solve it.ThanksClaudio
Hello, We have setup Kasten with multi-cluster with 2 OpenShift Cluster. We can backup with a policy from cluster “a” and then export the backup to PV. We can restore on the “b” cluster with a policy “import and restore after import” from the PV. The same PV is available on the two cluster. The PV is mounted with nfs. It’s work good, we can backup and restore our namespace. It this possible do backup with a policy and export and restore with import on the same cluster ? Or is this only avaible between two cluster ?Thanks
