Hello, Last night our backup job took much longer then normal Looking through the job history I saw one user with 51GB of data processed. This is very much out of the norm for him. I asked the user if they had done anything or added any folders and they are not aware of anything. My questions is, where or how can i see a log of the files processed, or even a compare feature from last nights backup to 2 days ago. I am just not able to find an easy way to see what was the 51GB that was processed.

Veeam has recently been upgraded from 11a to v12. Post upgrade we cant get into the web interface for Veeam ONE. Client app works….I’ve checked IIS, local logs etc, cant see anything….anyone seen this?

hello, can I use socket based licenses (currently in use on a VBR v10 server) for a new VBR v12 server? Or is there some kind of conversion/upgrade process involved?kind regards,Wim

I have a physical server with VBR 12 installed, the customer now also wants VBM and as repository the same as VBR, Say what against installing VBM on the same server as VBR?

Hi, I created new jobs to organize Exchange groups and Teams groups since my company was previosly configured to backup the whole organization, Now that the backup is set up and backing up for about a month is time to disable the original job, if I disable and delete the job, would that release the previously used licenses for any aditional user that is not on the new jobs ? Thanks in advance.

after the update to v12 there are legacy copy jobs, can i leave them as they are or should i update them and how?

Hi VEEAMers! Finishing deployment of our VEEAM environment with Virtual Lab/Surebackups and found built-in check are pretty basic and pretty much only checking if VM is listening on particular port after restore. It definitely helps to make sure the serve is not corrupted and functional but not giving any validation against if it was hit by ransomeware or not. What does (from my point of view) is if where will be built-in checks if particular file (most commonlt encrypted by ransomeware, VEEAM probably knows better - but I’d do .doc, .pdf, .7z, etc ) can be successfully open. Any improvements in that area in upcoming 12.1?Or maybe I am wrong and someone can point me out to the fact it has been already done and I just don’t know how to do it?Cheers,Alex.

Hello,Feature request for ‘Veeam Backup and Replication’ client. When viewing/selecting an active job provide the option to ‘Follow’ most recent activity. This is helpful if you have a job active with many objects in the job from a visibility perspective.Currently, if you have a job with 20 objects being backed up and you select an object in progress, when the object completes the viewed object stays displayed instead of following to the subsequent active object being backed up.  Thanks

Hello Everybody, I am new to Kasten K10 and trying to understand the snapshot retention. Below is one of the policies I’ve created. It takes daily backup of a K8s application.I need help understanding what exactly does 31 daily, 10 weekly, 12 monthly and 7 yearly snapshots retention mean. And this is what I see when I get into the restore points:And what should the settings be to retain backups/snapshots of last 1 month (30 or 31 days), and one snapshot per month for the last one year. So, for example today’s date is Oct 2nd, so daily snapshots from Sep 2nd till today and 1 monthly snapshot from Sep 2022 till Sep 2023. This is just an example, I know it depends on the snapshots Kasten has already taken. But, I want to achieve this.

Hi, How can I add backup repository (Linux hardened) to Veeam office 365 backup?

Has anyone found a better way or backing up a Raspberry PI to a veeam repository other than using a script to dd the entire SDCard to a SMB/CIFS share and then backing that up?

HI,I have exported a backup with generic storage from one k3s and when I try to import it and restore it on another k3s the restore create the pv and pvc but failed with this error:Failure in planned phaseFailed to create PVCs from PVC specsCannot prepare Kopia API serverFailed to prepare Kopia API server for Generic Volume Snapshot Restore Failed to initialize Kopia API serverFailed to connect to the backuprepositoryinvalid repository passwordFailed to exec command in pod: command terminated with exit code 1the 2 kasten instances have the same location 2 buckets s3 (backup, export) with same keys.can you help me please ?

My Backup Server’s C: Drive is getting tight and I want to relocate Veeams’s MS SQL Database files from their default location on C:\Program Files\… to a larger Data drive. Now, whilst I can find articles about relocating the whole Veeam config to a different SQL Server, I can find nothing on moving the database mdf/ldf within the same Server.   Is it simply a case ofstopping the Veeam services, detaching the databases in SQL Server Management Studio,  moving or copying the files to the new location, attaching the database from their new location?Has anyone had any experience of this? How successful was it? Are there any pitfalls to avoid?

working in a client env with veeam v11 and 12….just upgraded to v12.we have issues with replication not working (started all of a sudden 3 weeks ago). Support said that it was a known issue in v11 and we needed to upgrade. Tbh I wasn’t convinced as its been working fine for some time.Anyway we upgraded to v12 but replication is still not working. You can see that the copy is seen as in-progress so Veeam is just trying to send data. You can also see on the storeonce side that Veeam files have landed/created with ZERO bytes. It just sits there for hours and you dont see any data being transmitted for some reason…..We do have a call with support but just wondered if you guys had any ideas. We’ve involved HPE and run scripts on the storeonce appliances which are able to send files between the devices (1G files, 10G files etc).

Hello everyone,I didn’t find configuration backup and restore in VBM like VBR, what is the best approach to do it? both backup and restore the entire server, and install it from scratch?

Just a quick question...I was tasked with restoring OneDrive data from an account for a client that apparently left and the user was deleted, but someone else was accessing the OneDrive data while the user account was still in the Deleted Users status/folder, but once the 30 days elapsed, that data was purged.  This client is currently being backed up by Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud backup (until I get those folks moved over to Veeam) but I noticed that the last backup of the data was before the user account was deleted.  Makes sense, but I hadn’t considered that their OneDrive would even be accessible by the other users during that time period if the user/mailbox had been marked as deleted. So my question is, if a user account is marked deleted, does VB365 still backup the deleted mailbox/OneDrive (or can it even do so - assuming that you had that user explicitly specified or had the job set to backup the entire organization, etc) until Microsoft purges that data?  I imagine I can test thi

Hi,I have installed Veeam agent on my windows 11 VM. I have a external hard drive connected to the physical host and shared the drive.I have it mapped on my VM.I cannot see it in my options for destinations. Is there any thing I can do to get this working? Thank you in advance.Colin

Hi, our client just had a ransomware attack and unfortunately veeam server and backup files were affected. Client had to rebuild their servers and We had to reinstall Veeam and recreate backup from start again. We are looking into introducing tape as “offline” backup so we can restore backup files from it in worst case scenarios. My question is, if we reinstall Veeam B&R is it easy to re-introduced the Tape Library and is it easy to scan for it and retrieve/recover the Backup Files from it to Veeam Disk Repository?

Hello everyone, We have an HPE MSL3040 tape library and we have two F.C drives on it. The drives are detected on the Veeam server but one of them shows a red sign (screenshot attached). On device manager both drives are properly working. we are unable to use the parallel processing feature because the second drive seems to be non functional. Any ideas as to why this could be happening? Thanks in advance for your support.
