We have need to provide a Full backup report to our finance department for compliance. We are Backing up Physical, VMs and NAS storage. I have not yet found a report that works for us to get this info.

I am curious, what do you use for a compliance report or full backup report for your environment.

Can this report help you?

This seems to be one of the best reports to use for what you potentially need in Veeam ONE.

Veeam One is a great tool to get reports, but I haven't found that one or combination of reports that is giving me what i need just yet.

I like Job History, but the Job type will show as mixed when Active Fulls are mixed with the Synthetic, for those VMs that don’t comply with the CBT or templates. Both are fulls but for our report it would show “Mixed” and that can include incremental as well. This is why we went to the Latest Backup Status, but it does not support NAS jobs.

Also the Job History does not have the option for past 24 hours so my jobs that cross the midnight hour get lost or show up as “Running” and not successful.

My current Configuration for my Full Backup Compliance reports is

  • Latest Job Status run Saturday Morning after our Friday Synthetic Fulls
  • Custom Backup Report with - Job Name, Last Run Status, Job Details, Objects to Process, Protection Type - Run for the NAS Jobs - also run Saturday Morning

I tried combining these into a single report using the Report Builder, but when the Latest Job Status gets run through that report it looses the detail showing every VM and the Job type ie “Synthetic Full”, “Full” or “Incremental”

There is also a user in the forums who has created a report that many have found helpful. I don’t know if it is up to date with V11 but worth a look:

Agree with @Geoff Burke ! When you need something more individual, choose PowerShell to create a report. Could take some time, but at the end you get exactly the report you wanted.

PowerShell is the way to go when nothing else seems to help. Looks like Chris Arceneaux is going to update the report for v11 which is great as well.  Looking forward to seeing this.

I’ll give the PS scripts a go, I would still be interested if there is anyone who is producing reports for compliance what they are using from Veeam canned reports. Just to get some ideas flowing. Maybe I am just looking at my problem from the wrong perspective.
