Hey I'm trying to achieve backing up multiple server files on one job then push to tape as a secondary target but it's not working I trying using file copying job but it's taking too long to run the files can you please provide me with any suggestions?
Got a weird situation I’m not sure of the right approach. This setup is new to me and has some issues which I fully acknowledge and will be seeking to rectify. I have a restore request to recover the server VM that Veeam B&R is installed on. It’s a shared application server running on Hyper-V and one of the other applications has become corrupted and the system will have to be rolled back. My plan was to take a configuration backup of Veeam so I could recover Veeam to the current state after the server itself has been rolled back. The repository is on separate storage so won’t be overwritten by the restore. What I can’t quite figure out is whether or not Veeam is going to be able to instigate a restoration of the machine the B&R server itself is actually running on. Can it do that or will I have to install a second copy of Veeam on another server and import the backup before restoring it?
I need to understand Veeam Backup Proxy servers better. I have two sites. They are in different cities, but connected via a P2P, so on the same network. Site one holds my Veeam Backup server, ESX hosts, VMs, primary storage, etc. Site two contains one ESX server and a very few VMs, (one DC, file server, DHCP) and some storage. At site one, all of my backups are scheduled to run and store locally. Then, from site one, backup copies are moved across the P2P to site 2 for "off-site" backup. This works well. The VMs at site 2 are set to backup to local storage at site 2, but the backup runs and was built from site 1. BUT, at site 2, I have a Veeam B&R server as well and it's listed as my proxy server. It's not doing anything. It handles no backups and basically just sits there. So, clearly, I don't understand WHAT a backup proxy is for or how to use it. Can someone explain it to me like I'm a three year old and maybe draw some pictures? Thanks

Hi! This is a notice for Veeam´s VCSP Partners. Veeam asks service provider partners using supported versions (v7 & v8) of the Veeam Service Provider Console to apply the latest cumulative patches. While no confirmed cases of CVE-2024-29212 are being exploited, the advisory emphasizes the urgency of patching the vulnerability. The following paths fix this vulnerability and do not affect any other Veeam product (e.g., Veeam Backup & Replication, Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows, Veeam ONE, etc.).· Veeam Service Provider Console 7.0.0.18899· Veeam Service Provider Console 8.0.0.19236Refer to the KB4575:https://www.veeam.com/kb4575

We’re preparing to implement DRO in our org and I have a few best practices questions that maybe someone here could answer:Physical or VM? Is it possible to site DRO on the same server as Enterprise Manager? Should be at the DR site, right?I’m sure I’ll have more questions come up as I read through the official Veeam docs and start poking around at a test implementation. Thanks!
I’m looking to use a Linux server (possibly physical server) as a mount point for a Hardened Repository and also back it up with the Veeam Agent for Linux. Would it also be possible to use the same Linux server as a Veeam backup proxy?
I have been digging deeper in to the VONE console especially the Threat Center Dashboard lately and the following graph that shows 0% indicates to check the Reports > Backup Compliance category -- does anyone know the specific report(s) for this that uses it?The other options on the Threat Center Dashboard name a specific report to run for the % showing but this one just gives a category. I am interested to see what report shows the details for this one and being able to remediate it.Data Protection Status - VONE Dashboard - Threat Center
Hello guys,Following the Disable Basic Auth in M365 since Oct. 1, 2022, I m looking for the best practices to implement the Modern App Only Authentication.I ll not explain why it’s important to protect M365 datas @Iams3le already did it very weel right here: To improve security, I would use the least privilege approach and only assign the permissions which are required for the task at hand. But I m a bit confuse with the best way to do it.Regards the required permissions in the help center (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbo365/guide/vbo_required_permissions.html?ver=60), we need Veeam Backup Account Permissions and Azure AD application permissions. Is the Veeam Backup Account Permissions mandatory with the Modern App Only Authentication? In my understanding is only needed when we need to use the legacy mode. For the creation of the Azure AD app, we need to provide a user to login to M365. What kind of account do you use as this step? A dedicated service account or an admin user accou
If anyone uses Storage encryption you may encounter issues with Replication and Restores. See the following KB for resolution - KB4266: A specified parameter was not correct: spec.vmProfile (veeam.com)
“Cannot find record in table tapestorage”. I need to know how to remove the orphaned tape object from the database. We are using Veeam Backup and Replication v11. Any help will be appreciated.
Good day. I’m setting up a new Veeam 12.1 on-prem environment. Currently the Veeam B&R server is not domain-joined. We are working on a separate management domain, but it’s not yet ready. And, I don’t think it should matter as a workgroup setup is a recommended best practice.I’m attempting to add an SMB file share from a domain-joined Windows 2019 file server to Veeam, but it’s not able to access the file server share. For instance, the file server is “fileserver01” and the share is “P$”. I can navigate to it from my desktop or a domain server using “\\fileserver01.domain.com\p$”. I have tried using my domain credentials as well as the local file server administrator account (fileserver01\administrator), but Veeam cannot access that file share.Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I would like to test Veeam Backup & replication 12 to see if we want to use the software. This is the free versionNow, unfortunately, I already have problems with the installation. When I try to work with the localhost, I get the following error message: To rule out a firewall problem, I've disabled them. Unfortunately, to no avail.I tried a local user as well as a domain user. Both are in the Administrators group. Die Dienste laufen auch alle: (But I only have these four). Does anyone have an idea what it could be based on?About the server: It is a virtual machine that runs in VSphere. Best Manuel
While adding some new Volumes, I found that some of my NetApp Volumes were not named correctly according to our standard naming conventions. Thinking nothing of it, I renamed them and carried on.I had my Veeam B&R server rescan the storage and all seemed well, until every backup job failed.“Cannot find any relevant ONTAP SnapMirror and SnapVault relationshipsFailed to create processing task for VM <servername> Error: Failed to prepare VM for processing from secondary storage snapshot, and the option to failover to primary storage snapshot is disabled.”The Volumes are set up for VMware with a single LUN presented via Fiber Channel. It is set up to do an intra-cluster snapshot from an FAS8300 to a FAS2720 and backup from the FAS2720The protection relationships all say they are healthy and under the Veeam policy on the storage.I’ve had a ticket open with support for 10 days and am not getting anywhere fast. They had me edit the properties of the storage and click through and then
Hello, I would like to ask you for rest api example for Amazon S3 repository creation (more detailed documentation for the object storage endpoint API).I have found the documentation and in the example is Azure, I would like to see how to use it for Amazon. Thanks In advanced.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vbr_rest/object_storage.html?zoom_highlight=repositories&ver=120
Hi Veeam Community, I'm Daria from Veeam. I'm working behind the scenes to enhance your VeeamON experience and explore new networking opportunities for attendees. We're considering introducing a 'Coffee Connect' feature before the event, designed to kickstart networking early. Coffee Connect would allow attendees to sign up for a 15-minute chat with another VeeamON attendee at random. I would appreciate your input on moving forward with this idea. Please take a poll below and comment your thoughts and if you will definitely use this feature :) Thanks for your help, Best, Daria K
Posted in the forums here - so if there isn’t currently a way to have active/active, active/standby etc configuration for EM, what have folks been doing for distributed deployments? The primary goal here is to have a DR site come online as quickly as possible and for EM to have the highest availability one can offer.
Hi all. There is the possibility that this weekend I might need to restore all of our domain controllers in our domain (hopefully this does not come to pass). It is not a very active AD domain so hopefully but I might have to go back about 3 weeks to get around a problem. Can someone point me to documentation as to how to do this from within Veeam with all the DCs down? This would mean that no dns resolution will be happening (do I have to create a hosts file on the Veeam server to get around this?).Another hiccup is that for one of the DCs, I notice now that application aware processing has not been turned on so it is going to be restored as just a member server without any special processing for the AD database.Thanks.
Hello, I would like to use CDP to replicate my VM from DC to DRC, I have 2 vcenter on DC and DRC. I have already installed VBR server on DC site So do I have to install I/O in each vcenter (DC & DRC) by using Veeam console in DC or I just have to install I/O in vcenter on DC ? Thank you
Hello!I am new here, hope you don't mind my ignorance!!I am looking for some detailed steps/instructions to implement and achieve my data backup goals for a personal/home based setting. I Have quite a few kinds of devices in my home. couple of windows laptops, couple of iPads, couple of iPhones, an android phone, may be a macbook pro in the future. I don't find it practical to connect separate USB external hard disks to each of these devices to back them up. So, what i am thinking to achieve instead is - if all of these devices can connect to a NAS, use one big drive say 6/8 TB and create individual folders to create separate backups of each of the devices, that is the ideal solution i am looking for. I haven't decided yet on what model of NAS do i need. Any recommendations welcome! I am planning to use this NAS device just for backing up my multiple devices in one place. I am not looking for active file sharing among the different devices. Also create a backup of the 6/8 TB NA
