Good day all,Hostnames and IPs are ficticious, just to protect my environmentCase:N.B. Primary veeam server was off during the config restoration. Both servers can resolve hostnames to IP, full communication between sites/on WAN, same domain as well.I used (Site1) primary veeam server “veeamserver1” backed up .bco file and restored it to (site 2) secondary veeam server. “veeamserver2” After restoration on veeamserver2, RED X came up on both hosts and repositories.On veeamserver 2, I did a rescan on on hosts and i got error(all hosts) for below:-Error - [Serverhost1] Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Access is denied.  RPC function call failed. Hi all,I’m currently running Ubuntu 20.04.6 in a Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V VM. Veeam B&R CE 12 is installed on the VM host, which is scheduled to backup the VM every so often. I’ve been struggling for quite awhile now trying to troubleshoot some instability in the VM. It appears that applications start crashing following a Veeam backup opeartion on the VM. Multiple different applications will seg fault, including systemd. Hi All,Occasionally there are a few Windows replica VMs that come up 169.x on NIC 0 during boot. They are VCD enabled replicas. We are using VLAN direct mapping without NSX in this case. Job network mappings are set and functional. 95% of them boot as they should. The few that come up with an APIPPA address will obtain the correct IP *if* I go to the NIC config in VCD for the VM and disable NIC 0, add NIC 1 and set to static pool along with the VLAN. (connected, primary). This has been tested as repeatable across reboots once it’s been changed in VCD. I took a look at the VMX and the Veeam statements look correct as far as I can tell. PCI ID also matches. This doesn’t seem to be limited to a single VCD Org. Troubleshooting I’ve tried so far, Update VM tools to the latest.  Review device manager for ghosted adapters.  Add a second NIC (works)I’m wondering if anyone else has bumped into this and what the findings were if so. Hello,I am trying to do a bare metal recovery of a physical windows server 2019.First, I have created a recovery media from the agent backup, then mounted that .iso on the Dell Idrac9 and tried to boot form virtual CD/DVD/ISO, but it’s getting stuck at the windows logo screen.I have also tried to boot from the same iso on a VM just to test. This time, it worked, the veeam console came up and  I got all the options for restoration. But on the physical server, it’s not working.Please let me know where I am going wrong. I have attached the screenshot of the stuck screen. Thank you.

One of my customer wants to take backup there 40 Oracle Cloud VMs using Veeam. Is it possible to take the backup using Veeam? Thank youShaokat

We have facing issue with exchange server backup with AAIP. Since a few weeks, my backup of my Windows disk (that used to work seamlessly) fails with:Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. Skipped arguments: [EmulatedDiskSpec>]; Agent failed to process method {DataTransfer.SyncDisk}. Exception from server: The size of the internal FIB block (58368) cannot be less then the default block size (1048576). Failed to download disk 'a289c469-b376-11ec-83e5-68545a920099'I could not find this particular error message online. How can I get it to work again?I use Veeam Agent for Windows 6.2.0.121.

I want to ask that anyone has tested that  Veeam Backup and Replication Software Version 12 Supports IBM Spectrum Scale GPFS File system ?If any one has tested it on this version, guide me please.

I have a customer who is using Veeam to migrate some VMs from one Vcenter environment to another.  He has set up two virtual proxies, one on the source Vcenter and a second on the Destination Vcenter.   Each Proxy VM has 24GB of RAM and 16 vCPU’s.   He has set Max concurrent tasks to 20 on both proxies and has a green check mark on that.   He set up a job with multiple VM’s with each VM having 2 disks.   The job is only processing a max of 4 VM’s at at time.   I am thinking it should be able to do at least 10 VM’s (10 x 2 disks = 20 concurrent tasks).   Do VM replication jobs use more concurrent tasks than a single task per disk?  

Being new to VEEAM, I might be troubleshooting problem that's trivial for VEEAM experts.On Veeam 12.2 and vCenter 8.0.3, my problem is ESXi hosts having multiple networks which causes Veeam's confusion. There's management network and there's vMotion network. The hosts in vCenter are defined as follows:The problem is, Veeam isn't able to back up a single VM. running a lab to test veeam v12.2 with storeonce VSAs. No firewalls, flat network etc. Simple stuff.Backup test works then the copy (storeonce stores copies) fails with:Backup copy was cancelled: ServerIncorrectAddressOrProtocolIts all IP based, single NIC, all options allowed for storeonce NICs too….any ideas?? I have a Synology NAS with about 10 TB of data, and I need to set up a real-time replication that runs every 15 minutes to my own server (no cloud solutions involved). Additionally, I need to implement a failover and failback mechanism in case the NAS goes down or needs maintenance.I want to ensure that:The data is replicated every 15 minutes. I can perform a failover to my server if the NAS is unavailable. I can easily failback to the NAS once it's back online, keeping data consistent.Can someone guide me through the best practices or the proper steps to configure this using Veeam Backup & Replication? Hello everyone,I am looking for advice on how to manage a migration from a VMWare host to a Hyper-V host while maintaining backups continuity under Veeam B&R 12.2 with only 2 sockets licensed. BackgroundWe have decided to move from VMWare to Hyper-V.  Our environment is small and it makes solid economic sense over the lifetime of the current Windows Server edition.  The Windows Server licensing was bought before Veeam expanded support to other hypervisors, so Proxmox VE was not in scope for this move.  We have timed our migration to coincide with a hardware refresh, so we will move from a two-host ESXi setup (VMWare VSphere Essentials with Veeam managing replication to the second host) to a two-host Hyper-V setup.  Again, we intend to use Veeam to manage replication because Windows Server Hyper-V Replication is constrictive compared to the options we have under Veeam, for our risk profile.There are 18 VMs in scope for the move.  The bulk of the data is approximately 50TB of data fr

Hello,I was wondering if some of you have already try to play with immutable repository for backup job in Veeam for M365 v8.I want to try the governance mode but I not sure how to test it properly…I use a Wasabi bucket set with versioning and immuability. In Veeam I created my repository with the following parameters My backup worked properly Now I want to test the immutability. But I'm not sure to how to proceed.In wasabi console I tried to delete the bucket directly, I got the message: Okay, I decided to delete the Veeam folder and tadammm the folder has been deletedThe bucket should be empty so I relaunch my job, I though to have a new Full backup, but no. Veeam create an incremental… Strange….Now I want to try to delete some data from Veeam but except with powershell it’s not possible.I’m looking a cmdlet to delete all sites in my repository.​​​​​​​

How can I back up our Proxmox Ve cluster environment to Cloud Connect Service Provider storage? With VMWARE and Hyper-V I can choose from the Cloud Connect repository that has been created, but when I create a backup job for Proxmox this is not available to me. Does anyone know why? Is there a solution?

Hi Guys, I wonder if I can get some help on this one. I have the Veeam One report showing VM Snapshots older than 3 days which is showing snapshots that have long been deleted. Does anyone know if there is a way to kick Veeam One into recognising that they have been deleted ?I’m thinking a SQL query to clear a table in the DB that has got stuck or something like that ?Any help greatly appreciated.ThanksPhil

Hi, I’m running Veeam B&R CE on my home server and plan to upgrade from Server 2022 to 2025 when that come out.  I would like to do a clean install of 2025 and was wondering if there’s a way to backup my install of Veeam so I can reinstall it on my upgrader Server 2025 (eg., the configurations, databases etc.  The backup repositories are on separate disks and so will be directly accessible). Thank you

Sanity check!On our Exagrid we have a single 1GB NIC and two 10GB NICs. From the beginning we configured the Linux Managed Server/Repository to point to the 1GB NIC assuming that the Veeam Datamover magically knew about and utilized the 10GB NICS for backups. Considering how slow our backups are Im wondering if our network is misconfigured and we should be pointing to the 10GB.

We want to restore a SQL Server database within a small window, so that there is minimal downtime for transferring usage from the old database to the new database. With our previous backup software (Backup Exec), we used to restore the full backup and leave the database in recovery mode, then restore the differential backup on top of that, still leaving the database in recovery mode, then restore the transaction logs up to just before the downtime period, still leaving the database in recovery mode, so that, once the downtime commenced, we would only have to restore a couple more transaction log backups to bring the database up-to-date with the source database.We are struggling to find a similar option in Veeam. We have 2 support calls open, one attempting to see if we can use a similar method to the above, and one attempting to see if Instant Recovery is the solution to this.- for the first option, it appears that Veeam cannot append any restores to the original restore - it simply of
