Hi, I recently upgraded to the most recent version of B&R community edition and I think as part of that process, one of my Windows PC did not failed to update its Agent properly. Now, that Windows PC always shows up as offline and when I try to reinstall/update Agent from the console, I get “6/22/2024 5:19:43 PM Warning Failed to connect to MyPC Details: Failed to call RPC function 'PckgFind': Unknown property.”
I know that PC is on and has network connection. Is there a way for me to manually reinstall the Agent on that PC? If so, where can I find the installation files?
Thank you!

Do you think if I removed that pc from my protection group and then re-added it that the console will reinstall the Agent from scratch? I’ve tried support 4 times and each time the case just gets canceled after a few days…
You can try to do that and see.
Dear @Hammer Here you go: sharing my own experience.
Verify that the firewall allows traffic on the required port 135 for RPC
Test connectivity using the ping command or check access to shared folders on the B&R server from the affected PC.
As you mentioned uninstall agent from console yes you can uninstall agent from console after uninstallation completed go to affected computer register find veeam option rename like veeam-old
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Veeam
The Veeam Agent installation files are stored on the B&R server.
Delete that folder as well.
Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Veeam\Backup and Replication\Backup\Packages
Refresh you pc and try to restart it if needed then try again to install the agent from Veeam console try this and let share the results hows going.
Thanks. Unfortunately, when I try to uninstall the Agent from the B&R console, I get the same error: Warning Unable to update backup agent: failed to connect to 192.168.1.63 Details: Failed to call RPC function 'PckgFind': Unknown property.
The computer backs up fine so connectivity is fine. It’s just that I can’t update or uninstall the Agent
Dear @Hammer quick check go to VBR open the power shell as an admin, and run the below commands
if results look like below that means port is blocked.
Thanks. Test says succeed so I think connectivity is okay. I think issue is a corrupt Agent install on the client that I just can’t seem to correct :(

This will require that registry key so support is the route to go.
Hi, so I was able to finally uninstall Agent from the PC and the B&R console recognizes that Agent is not installed and now provides the option to install Agent on that PC. However, when I try to install Agent, I get the following error:
12/8/2024 1:42:06 PM Warning Failed to connect to 192.168.1.63 Details: Failed to call RPC function 'PckgFind': This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.
i’ve also tried to delete the PC from the protection group and then re-added it, but still getting the same error. Also, on the PC, I’ve gone through the registry and deleted all references to Veeam.
Any ideas?
As a further update, I manually installed VeeamGuestAgent_x64.msi, VeeamLogBackupService_x64.msi, VeeamTransport.msi, and Veeam_B&R_Endpoint_x64.msi on the PC and I’m able to backup the PC from the console. however, the console is saying the CBT Driver is not installed. Does anyone know which msi package is the CBT driver?
And when I do a rescan from the Console, I still get the 'PckgFind': This action is only valid for products that are currently installed. Probably because I didn’t install the above from the console…
Just can’t win…did Veeam.Agent.Configurator.exe -installCBTDriver /r
and upon reboot, I get error that says “Unable to complete the action because the backup agent is centrally managed by your system administrator.”
I wonder why that is since I installed everything from the PC itself vs. from the console (which won’t allow me to install to the PC)!
Are you able to remove the agent now from the PC and clean up everything then try from the console again. Before trying from the console remove the PC from there as well.

Hi @Hammerthank you for letting us.
For the installation, when you Right click on the installation file do you have Option to Run as Administrator?
If this option is available please start the installation this way.
If this option is not available you may consider lowering the UAC setting to the lowest configuration:

Yes, I uninstalled all things Veeam from the PC and also removed the PC configuration from the console, and yet when I try to reinstall from the console, I get the message 'PckgFind': This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.
Is there a way to tell the console to reinstall from scratch?

It almost seems like something is missing from the VBR server the client install. No commands or keys that I am aware of to tell it to install from scratch and this is at a point where support is needed to get this working again. Unless you want to manage the backups from the agent and point to a repo on the VBR server. That is what I do and don't manage by the VBR server.
