I have backups that are SOBR-Tiered out to Azure blobs. I have an audit coming up and need to show that we have this data stored- Basically, I need to build a list of backups that are physically stored in Azure. I asked Veeam support about this, and they said that you can’t just list Azure backups because of how blobs work. I can’t be the only person who needs to do this, so I figure there must be a way. Whether or not Veeam is part of that mechanism is apparently debatable. As a side note, I have a recent install of Enterprise Manager. The backups I need to list are back to 2020 or before, and we didn’t have it at the time, but any historical logs it takes from VB&R would probably have been imported when EM was installed. How do others in the community answer inquiries of this sort?

If you have Veeam ONE you can run reports to show this, but if you don’t then you can use the VBR Console under the Backups section > Object Storage.  In here you can see what is written to SOBR and where it is located - whether on-prem or object.  You need to go in to the Properties window.

This explains the icons for SOBR and what they mean which tells you where backups are located - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/infrastructure_icons.html?ver=120#scale-out-backup-repository-restore-points
