Guest OS File restore fails with ‘The revision level is unknown’

Requirement with Deduplication in windows where if you restore OS files it will not work and throws the error “The revision level is unknown”.  Seems to be with the mount server OS versus the backed up VM OS along with having the deduplication turned on.Check this article for more information - KB2776: Guest OS File restore fails with ‘The revision level is unknown’ (veeam.com)

Archive offload to AWS S3 Glacier error "no proxy appliances are available"

change IP address of SMB repository

I added a 10 Gbe NIC to my server hosting my SMB repository. That new NIC has a different IP address. I have a bunch of machines that backup via Windows and Linux agents and I don’t have the option to edit them from the Veeam Backup & Replication console (the Edit menu item is grayed out). Most of these machines are currently offline/not accessible. I’d like to avoid remoting into or physically going to each of these machines (so many) - how can I change the IP address of this SMB repository within VB&R console so the machines will pick up the revised repository when they come back online to perform a backup?

Specific VM Slow to Begin Boot After Restore

Greetings. I have an on-prem Windows Server 2019 Datacenter with the Hyper-V Role enabled running about 10 VMs. I was applying an update to one of the VMs, a Windows Server 2016 running Exchange 2016. The update, CU23, failed, forcing me to restore the machine. Prior to the attempted update I had VeeamZipped it from the B&R 11A CE panel, and so I  launched the restore from there. After restoration I had quite a bit of troubleshooting to do to get mail flow back but I was completely successful.The remaining issue is this: Upon VM startup, there is a long pause, 3 full minutes, during which I see the expected black screen with “Hyper-V” logo smack in the middle, but it sits there doing absolutely nothing I can see. No circle of dots, just the Hyper-V text. After 3 minutes the circling dots begin and I have desktop in about 30 seconds. and everything runs normally. The disk layout is the usual Recovery, EFI and OS partitions.Has anyone run into anything similar? Thanks for any thought

Backup Linux SQL Server

Hello Veeamers,I read the veeam docs and i don’t see any references to MSSQL on Linux.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/explorers/vesql_systemreqs.html?ver=110Am I the only one to have this gift on production on VM? Except VM backup, it will be old fashioned way for DBA to play with backup on it.

VMCE 2021/VMCA 2022 Expiration

Hi, Possibly a question for @Federica or @haslund. As the VMCE & VMCA are yet to have their new exam & certification released, willl there be an extension to the expiry of the current VMCE & VMCAs?For example:I sat my VMCE 2021 in June 2021, my VMCE states it expires the 9th June 2023. Likewise I sat my VMCA in September 2021, and my VMCA states it expires the 1st September 2023. I’m conscious that this looks like it’s just an automation, but as we’re a VASP, and our ProPartner portal is showing this imminent expiry, that it could reflect badly on my organisation if my certifications have ‘expired’ even if there isn’t a replacement certification available. A second question on this, after the 2023 grade exams are available, how long will we have to upgrade before the certifications are counted as ‘expired’ within ProPartner? Thanks!

Pre-freeze and post-that scripts throwing error

Hi all,I have a VM running on Hyper-V 2016, its a Ubuntu 20.04.6 with MariaDB installed.So I defined a (cold) pre-freeze.sh and and post-thaw.sh and tested both in /tmp directory, it will work as expected when done with sudo, under the specified user. However when the backup job does that, it throws an error. Hi Team,Since few days ago I get this error message when run a job in Veeam for Microsoft 365: “JetError -1032, JET_errFileAccessDenied, Cannot access file, the file is locked or in use”And reposity state says “invalid”The repository is a SMB shared and I can access from Windows Explorar without any problem. Can you give me and advice could be the problem? veeam replication from Prod to Dr

We have provisioned VBR in production, tecnically with compute and storage. Can we replicate the recovery points from prod VBR to VBR dr? In dr, we will provion as well VBR dr resources.  upon checking with veeam, they can replicate in the dr but the source is the vcenter prod as well, meaning 1vbr is enough as long as they vcenter in dr. Monthly Full Backup with Incremental Backup in between

Hi all, I am trying to create a Monthly Full Backup with Incremental Backups in between. In the ‘Advanced’ section, so far, I have created a Backup Job with ‘Incremental’ option selected. I have also enabled ‘Active full backup’ which will run on the last Friday on Monthly basis. In the ‘Schedule’ section, I have selected the ‘Run the job automatically’ with condition that it will run at 10 pm of the last Friday, every Month.So, the question is have a configured it correctly ? Thanks,Abhi

Backup SAP HANA with backint is very slow

Hey community, I want to use VBR 11a and VeeamPluginforSAPHANA to backup my SAP HANA database.Howerver, the test result is not ideal, Processing rate is only 1M/s.In my environment, the bandwidth between the VBR server and the HANA server is 10Gbps, and I have tested it with iperf3, everything is OK. and when I use VBR to backup VMs and NAS, everything is OK too. I also tried to set up different repositories using SapBackintConfigTool, but it doesn't work.What could be the reason? tks.

How to create direct connection from Veeam Agents to Wasabi

Is it possible to make the traffic from Veeam Agents go directly to Wasabi instead of going through our VSPC/VCC server? This will create a lot of network traffic and engress cost for us in Azure. In the manuals it says we should create cloud connect repository (with f.ex) wasabi. Was hoping that even this sets the Cloud Connect Repository in Veeam Agents, it would understand it was an object storge and route the backuptraffic directly to Wasabi itself.
