Solved

Dear Veeam Community,I hope this finds you well. I've encountered an issue after updating to Veeam Version 12 and was hoping someone might have come across a similar problem or can provide some guidance.**Problem Description:** After the update, I am unable to send notification emails. I consistently receive the error message: "Unable to connect to SMTP server because of invalid credentials or connection settings." I am certain of my credentials, having double-checked multiple times.Steps Taken:1. I've tried all configuration variants using both ports 587 and 465.2. When using port 465, I am able to apply the settings, but an error then displays.3. With port 587, the error surfaces after sending the test message.**Mail Server Error Logs:** From the logs, the following sections raised concerns:* `SASL login authentication failed`* `TLS library problem: error:14094412:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:sslv3 alert bad certificate`The error regarding the TLS library is particularly concerning.

I am facing problems. Task failed. Error: Connection problems. Processing finished with errors.Veeam Backup & Replication Version 12

Hi,We have a requirement of setting up a DR for VM’s running on Nutanix AHV to VMWare / Hyper-V running on HP server. Is this possible with Veeam ? Customer is using Veeam enterprise plus license. Please advise the possibilities.

Hi,is SureReplica in Azure VMware Cloud possible? Replica VMs are placed in vSAN.The idea is to provide a permanent DR Test with a daily new Lab und masqueraded VMs.

Hi,After an upgrade to B&R 12 i need to deploy components to my offsite immutable repo.I run “sudo veeamhubrepo”, chose the default user and press enter, but ssh is never enabled so my B&R server cant connect. I recall seeing a note in the header of veeamhubrepo once about SSH being enabled, but now it just showing the IP. Any hints?

Hi all, I am looking for the way to manage the number of concurrent tasks on repository. Two questions regarding it.I was expecting it to be the option of CBackupRepository object but doesn’t seems so. So how to retrieve the current configured number? Whats the difference between LimitConcurrentJobs and MaxConcurrentJobs options in Set-VBRBackupRepository commandlet and which on is actually reflect the option in UI?Cheers,Alexey

a company's backups are made in our company by OPENVPN, we create the jobs in their Veeam and send them to a repository that stays with us, but Veeam cannot find the network path even though the machine is connecting, if we try to add a host with different ip but on the same band it connects normally

Hello dear community, Today I upgraded one of our lab instances to 6.0.6 and am not able to login anymore. We use OIDC to handle logins, and I just receive this error now when opening the dashboard: I have the same version with the exact same configuration running on another instance, without any issue. Here is the partly redacted k10_val.yaml: auth: oidcAuth: clientID: [redacted] clientSecret: [redacted] enabled: true groupClaim: roles prompt: none providerURL: [redacted] redirectURL: [redacted] scopes: groups profile email usernameClaim: usernamecacertconfigmap: name: custom-ca-bundle-storeglobal: persistence: storageClass: vcenter-ssd-scingress: class: nginx create: true host: [redacted] tls: enabled: true secretName: [redacted] What could be the issue here? The auth-svc log says the following:{"File":"kasten.io/k10/kio/auth/oidc.go","Function":"kasten.io/k10/kio/auth.NewOIDCProvider","Line":56,"clusterName":"[redacted]","cluster_name":"2d37

Hey Everyone, As I understand it Veeam is fully vMotion aware. That includes storage vMotion. So if someone storage vMotions a VM the replication job should not have any issues? However, if someone moves the replica to a different datastore, based on @MicoolPaul best answer then you would need to remove from the configuration database and seed and  map in the replication jobs to the replicas on the new location.

Greetings, While upgrading from 6.0.3 to 6.0.6 catalog-svc cannot start.I get the following error in logs{"File":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog/artifact.go","Function":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog.(*Artifact).StatsDestroyed","Line":70,"cluster_name":"removed for privacy","error":{"message":"Negative duration for manifest","function":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog.calculateDuration","linenumber":234,"file":"kasten.io/k10/kio/catalog/manifest.go:234"},"hostname":"catalog-svc-5f986bd75-tp2w5","level":"error","msg":"error calculating manifest stats","time":"2023-09-07T10:42:50.633Z","version":"6.0.6"} Same error for upgrading to 6.0.4 first

I’m trying to do Instant Recovery of a large server from a VeeamSourceSnapshot to a different volume. There is no option of doing this, what’s the workaround? We are using NetApp and it has a 100TB limitation on the volume size so this is the reason why I would like to restore to a volume that has more free space. Appreciate your input!

Hello How to Install VBR v12 to remote SQL with customized port instead of 1433?

Hi Veeam communityI would like to hear your thoughts about pros and cons regarding GFS and Standard Mediapools.

Hi everyone,we have a file to tape backup job and we wanted to browse the contents of a tape. upon clicking on properties of that tape, we see two tabs (General and Jobs) and we can see just the backup jobs (Have attached screen shot). On the Veeam user guide it states that you can see the actual contents on a particular tape and the two tabs shown on their screenshot are General and Files. (please refer link below)https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/viewing_backup_sets_on_tape.html?ver=120 Any ideas on how we can achieve this and see files just like in the user guide, instead of jobs? Thanks in advance!

We have quite some users, that work at least a few days per week in their home office, connected to the corporate LAN using a VPN tunnel. so the local Veeam Agent can connect to the VBR server, and therefore is doing regular Veeam backups over the VPN connection, cutting down the bandwith that much, that the users cannot work anymore in their home office. Two approaches:1.) limit bandwith used to an user adjustable speed rate2.) only run Veeam backups, if the IP address is pointing out “the-laptop-is-connected-to-the-Corporate-Network” (no VPN WAN IP address)

Hello to all Veeam enthusiasts and professionals,I’m finalizing my Backup Infrastructure plan and I would like to get advice, and corrections if anybody is willing to help, and discuss 😁 The only thing that is confusing me is the use of Backup Proxies, do I need them, is it too much now in this setup, do I need something else to make the performance of Backup Better?Comments are welcome, I am still learning this and each day brings something new.

Hallo.

Good morning,I’m attempting to restore a single file to an Ubuntu workstation (Vmware VM (ESXi/vCenter)).  I’m able to browse the file system, the FLR appliance sets up properly, everything looks good, then it fails, there is NO error in the logs..  There is 1 single warning:Skipping mapping [/media/sda3 ↔ /], because custom mapping on mounted path [/media/sda3] already exists on [/]Not sure if that warning is what’s causing my issue, however it is the only NON -INFO entry in the entire log… Any insight would be greatly appreciated!Thanks,-CoreyP.S. having a real hard time finding a community support forum, so if this is the wrong place to post this I apologize...
