Good morning my friends, I have a question. Today I have 2 external HDs, where every Saturday I change one HD and the other week I put the other HD. One of them is doing the incremental process on the same folder regardless of the week it is. Already the other HD is creating a new folder and making the backups again. I don't want it to create another folder, I want it to use the same one. How do I do that? Since the other one is doing it and I just repeated the settings from the 1st HD to the 2nd HD.

Hello @SeguraTI ,
if I understand your scenario correct, you are using two backup jobs at the moment. One for each external hard disk. This will not work, because the two jobs do not know from each other and will each start a backup chain.

You could have a look a repositories with rotating disks

I have never used this option with removable drivers before.

My advice is the same of @JMeixner. Look for this option with rotated repositorys.

All you’ll need to do once this is enabled is configure each drive to have the same drive letter within Windows (assuming it’s Windows you’re using for this).

Then Veeam will track these disks independently for you 🙂

where can i find this option? "To use rotated drives, you must enable the This repository is backed by rotated hard drives option in the advanced settings of the backup repository"is it in the backup job settings?

You create a backup repository and within the advanced options for the repository it’s a checkbox 🙂

Read the section of how to add one and it’ll help you get it setup

Hi, please see the link I have posted, there is a link on this site Adding Backup Repositories with Rotated Drives

Okay, I'll test it here, any questions I'll come back to this post. Thank you all.

Good afternoon everyone, after several tests in the last 15 days I think everything worked, that's what I needed to configure. Thanks to everyone involved.

Fine that you were able to sort this out 😎👍🏼
