We are getting below error message when trying to run a manual backup via VEEAM Plugin.[ERROR] Failed to backup database ABC. Error: Stopping job session Anyone has any idea about the cause and fix?
I started installing Veaam backup&replication (v12). I ran out of space on the VM where it was installed so I aborted the installation. After I did that I got the following error when running setup.exe:An error has occurred: C:Program FilesVeeam Backup and Replication CatalogVeeam.Backup.CatalogDataService.exeI deleted as much as I could and can't find any traces of Veaam. Then tried again, but it doesn't work. Server rebooted several times as well.
Hi Community,We are using as AV solution Sentinel One. This Solution isn’t standard included in the AntivirusInfo.xml for Secure Restore/SureBackup. So I had to create my own entry, based on very little info and no list of error codes. It’s working but I don’t feel 100% safe as it wasn’t standard included or supported. During a recent Veeam On Tour it was brought to my attention, that using a different AV solution other then the one that’s active on your server bring an extra level of security/check. Now standard on this windows servers os Defender installed.Defender is also standard part of the AntivirusInfo.xml. We don’t want 2 AV solutions add the same time active on our systems. However if we could for example with SureBackup start a PS script that activate Defender at the start of the job and deactivates it again add the end of the task. This would be a great solution to me. Has anyone here this kind of solution in place and would like to share the PS?What about the AntivirusInfo.
We recently purchased Veeam Orchestrator, and I’m going through creating a plan.Is there a course or class that goes over how to configure it? I’m not sure what type of Plan (CDP Replica/Replica/Storage/Restore) I should be choosing. I didn’t find a way to choose the individual servers or exclude VMs from the plan. From what it seems, I need to create new backup jobs of the critical VMs I want included on the plan.For some background I am backing up from VSphere to a local repository and wanting to test whether we can restore to a DR site vSphere using the latest backups.I also noticed that during the install of Orchestrator it installs ONE and B&R. Does that seem right? I don’t recall seeing an option to not install those. From what I’ve read it installs a lite version, but I’m not sure if I should configure anything in them.Thanks!

Morning all. Hoping someone can help identify the best method available to us for migrating to new hardware. Overview of current setup:All in one VBR server (physical) Currently on v11 Local storage (ReFS volume) SOBR using Wasabi S3 for the capacity extent. Backups are copied to capacity. 1 job (agent managed) backing up 7 physical servers at remote sitesOverview of new setup:All in one VBR server (physical) Fresh install of v12 Local storage (ReFS volume)How would we best approach moving the data/job from the current setup to the new setup? The approach needs to consider the following: Ideally, we want to use VeeaMover in v12 to move the data between current and new setup so that we maintain the ReFS block cloning savings. The storage from the new system cannot be directly attached to the current system, but the servers are on the same LAN. Backing up the OS on a W10 Pro system, to USB RDX cartridge. Backs up the C drive, WinRETools, then hangs backing up a 10.9GB restore partition at 10.8. Been going for over an hour and a half this try. Tried letting it go overnight and it stopped with a red x. Also tried backing up just a 10GB Folder and it completed and then said there was no restore point when I tried to “mount” the backup to restore a file. These were just test runs, will probably just wait and try again when there is another version. Not sure if anyone else had seen such.
We been instructed to change our environment from a tape library system to a ejectable tape. We can fit a set of our most critical data on a single LTO-8 tape, and have it changed daily by our Colo. The tape library will be maintained for the “nice to have” data.The basic goal is to be able to restore critical data with nothing remaining of the VEEAM install but a tape and a printed copy of the encryption password. To table top this: We would like to have a single daily tape that has all of our incremental and synthetic fulls written to it. There is plenty of room for this as the existing repo has only 6.4TB used in it. The whole repo directory simple needs moved to tape daily when the job is complete. Q1: Is the basic goal here achievable?Q2: What type of tape job can ensure that both the increments and the synthetic fulls make it onto every days tapes? TIA

Hello, Thanks,I need to restore a backup, but need that date/time to match the date/time that the backup was taken.For example, I have a .vmb, .vbk, and recovery agent isoNeed to restore full backup from 10/07/2023 into a hyperv vm.But no matter what I try, after restore and reboot, the date is not set to 10/07/20231. I have setup the hyperv vm not to use “Time Synchronization”2. disable network access, so not ability to contact NTP server.3. As soon as the vm boots, but before starting the restore, i open a command prompt and manually set date to 10/07/20234. then I run the recovery, reboot into the OS and the date is wrong.Any suggestions please?

Hi, I have downloaded a trial of Veeam Office 365 backup after hearing how good it was in several places as we currently use another product but it's not the best in terms of features. Initial setup was simple enough but when it came to running the backup job, the performance was dreadfully slow. Averaging between 500-800kbps, it will take months to backup at this rate! Bandwidth is not an issue, we have a leased line and easily get 200meg down. Surely something must be wrong? I have read about auxiliary accounts but that option is greyed out for me...? I have the latest version, downloaded only last week. A bit disappointing since the rest of it seems to be pretty sweet.Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Hi team: I have a question: it turns out that I was going to read a tape in Veeam, I took out the previous one (tape3 that's what it's called), it came out without problems and I put the other one in (tape2). When it read the device, Veeam recognized the tape but with the same information as the previous one (tape3). When I took it out with Eject it came out without problems and when I put it back in it didn't read it as Idle or Free.What could have happened to make him behave that way? I played the tape I had at the beginning (tape3) and it reads it without incident.Regards,
Hi all and thanks for reading!!I have a socket liscencing in a host called “roma6-1”. Now, i updated the esxi and the new name of the host is “roma-linux-1”. Well, i revoke the liscence of the host “roma-1” but when i run a job, it still appears with the old name “roma6-1”, i dont know why doesnt appear the new hostname “roma-linux-1” as appears in the inventory of veeam for example. I have searched in my dns, esxi conf, idrac conf, etc. and all is fine. Id should be something cached in veem, i suppouse, but i dont know where looking for.¿Can you help me please?

Hi at all,We configured a backup for SQL AAG with Veeam plugin and all work fine, but now we need backup also the OLAP ( Online Analytical Processing ) component for our SQL AAG. Unfortunatly the OLAP is not discoverd by Veeam Plugin and thus I don’t know how setup It's backup with Veeam. I am using direct attached on premise storage for my backup repository. That repository is getting close to being full, and I am having trouble understanding what next steps are.I have 30 day snapshot retention enabled.My concerns are around can I add a new repository that will continue to add new snapshots without having to start all over again and backup the entire 365 environment to that new repository?Ideally if I create a new repository, after 30 days the old (current) repository should be expired and can be removed. But I have a feeling it doesn’t work that way.
Source backup job that runs daily (1:00AM to 4:00AM (3hrs long)) is 1 TB in size on Mondays and then short 100GB increments (1:00AM to 1:30AM) each day for the rest of the week.My WAN link to the Offsite can copy 500GB per day.Copy backup will transfer about 500 GB on Monday but automatically stops after Source job runs again -“Failed to process NAS backup copy task Error: Stopped by job SourceX”After Source job finishes, the Copy job automatically starts again. It copies another 500 GB and gets interrupted when the Source job runs again. My question is the copy job restarting each time or resuming from where it got interrupted? Today is Saturday and it hasn’t finished copy the large Monday restore point..
We just moved a couple of servers to a new volume in NetApp using its new large file/volume feature. Nothing has changed on the backup job except the volume that it is backing up. The smaller server around 3TB was able to be backed up using SAN but the other server that is approximately 43 TB is being backed up using NBD. Prior to the move, both servers are doing SAN direct. I would think that since these are both on the same volume is one has been successfully backed up using SAN the other should as well. Both servers are also in the same compute cluster and both are using the same proxies. What is causing this behavior?

Hi, Our PKI cert has expired on our VCS server, and as a result the backups of the VMs are failing as Veeam can’t connect to the VCS. Its going to take us a few days to get another cert generated and installed on the VCS - but is there any workaround we can do in the meantime to get the Veeam Backup and Replication software to backup our VMs? I’m assuming not really - as that’s the point of certificates!Any suggestions most welcome.Thanks...

Hello, Thanks, I have a backup copy job from 12/27/2023 and I cannot stop it.The ‘Stop Session`menu option is disabled. The job details shows the job that stuck at 13% The job details also show that the job completed.Not sure what is going on, Please advise
