Failed to perform backup file verification Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

I have been going through Google the last few days trying to find an answer to my issue, but so far I have not found the answer that works.  I am getting this error message when I try to run a backup on my one and only community edition that we do not pay for support for.  Failed to perform backup file verification Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).Asynchronous request operation has failed. [readsize = 524288] [offset = 4763648]Agent failed to process method {Signature.FullRecheckBackup}.This is backing up a Cantos SMB server and Every post I have seen says to check for bad sectors, but the checks come back as “OK”.  How else can I check for corrupt data?  what other options do I have to try to remedy this?  Any tips on where to look next are greatly appreciated.

Incremental Backup

Hi Everybody,one of my client facing problem in Veeam Repository. so that they create a new repository and manually copy all data in new repo. Now they want to start incremental backup from new repo. is it possible ? any body know about this ?

Backup SQL Transaction logs in Veeam Backup for Azure

Hello,First of all I am not really sure where to post my question. From my Veeam account I am linked to the R&D forums. But there it says ‘Not a support forum!’. So I ask it here.Is it possible to backup the transaction logs of an SQL server running on an Azure VM with Veeam Backup for Azure ? I can enable application-aware snapshots but where and how do i select the applications to protect?Thanks,Chris

Quick Backup of a VM associated to multiple Backup jobs

I had to do a quick backup of a VM today.OK, no problem I thought and hit the Quick backup menue topic for this VM in the inventory tabThe job started and I saw some disk exclusion in the job log.Mhh… I wanted a quick backup of the whole machine.Then I saw that another job than I had expected was started for the quick backup.OK, this job backups indeed on disk of the VM only….Then I recognized that this VM is associated to several backup jobs. One which backups the whole VM, one to backup one VMDK with DB Backups and on job to backup one VMDK with log backups.It’s an older setup with a database without application aware backup. So, it seems that the quick backup executes the backup job which was executed last for the VM before the quick backup is started….And you have no choice to tell the quick backup which job you want to use… Am I missing something here? Is it a bug or a feature????  Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to select the job which is used for that?Or am I the only one finding

Release licence for users in Veeam backup for Microsoft Office 365

I’d backed up some data for a group of users during a mail migration. The job is complete so I’ve deleted it all to free up the licenses for another job. Unfortunately I believe that I’ve done things in the wrong order. The repository has been deleted and now I can’t get “Remove-VBOLicensedUser”. For every user it outputs:“Remove-VBOLicensedUser : The process cannot access the file '\\10.1.1.1\office365backups\BackupName\Repository.xml' because it is being used by another process” The repository listed is nothing to do with these users and it’s not in user by any process that I can see - certainly openfiles is blank. Any idea how to proceed?

Veeam thinks my server 2022 instance is 32 bit

I'm running Server 2022 Definitely in 64 bit (Do they make 32 bit even????) and whenever I try to create a VMWare proxy or any other proxy I get the error "VMware backup proxy requires 64-bit operating system" I have no idea why, and I haven't found anywhere leading me to anyone else having this exact issue either. Any idea what might cause it?

Afternoon everyone! Happy Friday, going for a valentines day theme today as it’s only a few days away now (REMINDER IF YOU NEED TO BUY A CARD OR PRESENT STILL!!!). So, you’re working in the technology world, you may hate it at times, but there’s a fine line between love and hate. (Except for you printers, I hate you). What was the first moment of pure joy/love you had working with tech? Or worded another way, what was your first memorable moment in tech that you found impressive/amazing? However you word it, tech has had a profound impact on our lives globally, what ignited the spark? I was writing in BASIC at a young age, and I remember the first time I started working with 3D objects/models. I think I was using DirectX 7 or 8, and I remember having some stock assets, making a terrain, creating a camera that would follow an object and programming in movement controls to the object. Veeam Availability Suite Enterprise Plus

I am baurel I work in Cameroon as an engineer of systems and computer networks, in a company of the place and we integrate solutions with our customers! I received an email from a client of mine who does not need us to renew his license. but the condition is that we must master the solution in order to perform well. on this subject I am a little blocked because its solution is Veeam Availability Suite Enterprise Plus. DELL PowerEdge R740XD2 as repository but with SSD Cache

Hi allI often use a DELL PowerEdge R740XD2 as a Veeam Repository.This with a bunch of SAS HDD disks in RAID-60.Great as being a repository.But to make the disks even faster, I want to use 2x SSD disks to configure as a write cache so the backups can be written even faster.NICs are 10Gbit.As a RAID controller a PERC H730P is being used.Windows Server 2022 and REFS 64K is being used on the repo.This is a setup often being used in combination with Veeam.Cachecade is not possible anymore on the RAID controller.What options are there?Using 3rd party software to use the SSD disks as write cache. What software is recommended by Veeam and are you guys familiar with? Or just stay away from it because the extra performance is just limited? Thx for your feedback! regardsNico

VBR Console Tip - CTRL+C

I am a keyboard junkie - use keystrokes rather than reach for the mouse if I can.I love Veeam’s use of the F1 keybind in any dialog window of Veeam Backup Console will bring you to the Helpcenter web page document specific to that dialog.I was playing around in the Job Session - detail window pane and you can use CTRL+A and then CTRL+C or right click any line or just white space in that pane and Copy to Clipboard.The resultant line(s) will be available to be pasted as text to your text/word/email application.Great. 💡 What about in the wider other views of Veeam Backup Console. 🤔When I have been wanting to show someone overview of Repositories I would screengrab... switch to the view and press WIN+SHIFT+S (brings up Windows Snipping Tool) drag select and then switch to application and press CTRL+VMaybe screengrab is not best for say something that might later on want to be searchable. Certainly OCR and the like have become more quicker and much easier available. Take Microsoft OneNote

Choose an operating system

I installed Veeam agent for Microsoft Windows on Hp Pavillion g6 Laptop of Core i5, 1 terabyte, 12 gig ram which runs on windows 10 enterprise, version 10.0.19043 with system type of x64-based pc, It was successful upon installation and a full successful backup.When i tried to reinstall the entire system using Veeam recovery media which I created, prior to when I started the installation, I encountered an error which says“OS disk in backup uses MBR disk. This may cause boot issues on UEFI systems”,which I resolved using https://www.veeam.com/kb3156 which actually solved the problem of “OS disk in backup uses MBR disk. This may cause boot issues on UEFI systems” after restarting my pc, everything happens to be fine until I turned my PC off,Upon turning my PC on again, I saw an error saying“Choose an operating system”, Meaning that I now have two (WINDOWS 10 ENTERPRISE on volume 4)What could have caused it?How do I resolve this issue?Thanks.

linux proxy, IBM storage integration and multipath devices that are not removed

We are running 11a with IBM SVC storage integration and storage snapshots. On our Linux proxies there are regularly leftover multipath devices. In the case below the only mapped device at this time is the 5GB disk (mpatha, for testing). There is no backup running anymore, no 10 TB disk should be there.
