I am building new physical server running Ubuntu. System is installed on hardware RAID controller. Installed VEEAM agent, made full backup. Booted up from Linux Media (unpatched), restored all volumes and after reboot server can’t boot any more =( Any suggestions?Cheers,
Hi guys,I am starting to set up CDP replication on Cloud Connect with Veeam 12.The source and target environments are hosted on vCD.I have installed I/O filter and configured CDP proxy on both sites. However, when I go to create a CDP policy to the cloud host/provider, I have no storage policy selectable in the destination. What is not clear to me is if and how I need to apply the VM storage policy on the VMware side .According to the official Veeam documentation (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/cloud/cloud_replication_limitations.html?ver=120#cdp) the custom storage policy for the CDP should be automatically imported from Veeam to vCD, but unfortunately it is not present in my vCD, and the one that Veeam creates by default on the vCenter is not associated with any datastore.Unfortunately, at the moment I haven't found any other references related to these configurations, and before going to make VMware-side changes I wanted to be sure about what to do.Any ideas and/or advice?Th
Hi dear Veeam community, i’m wondering if it’s possible to migrate the configuration database to a PostgreSQL DB on a Ubuntu host? Can’t find anything about that.I’ve setup the db but i’m facing an error: The port on the ubuntu is listening, credentials are correct.Does someone have a clue?Best regards :-)

V12 Launch Event banner. Launch date of February 14, 2023, is listed, along with the V12 and Veeam logos.Hello Community,Here’s a space for discussions on the V12 Launch Event! We would appreciate your thoughts on the event :) What V12 capability are you most anticipating? How do you plan upgrades to Veeam Backup & Replication? SNARK - Do you tell your boss you are upgrading? How long do you wait before upgrading? Do you set a test lab for upgrades?
Dear All,I wanted to host Veeam M365 repository on Dell Data Domain CIIFS Share (SMB2.0). I am completely aware that Veeam M365 doesn't support SMB2.0 and being a jet blue database, it has performance impact also. Does anybody has some workaround wherein I can backup onto primary Veeam M365 repository and then it should move the data to either CIIFS or NFS? NOTE: Don’t recommend Veeam best practices. Regards,Sunny

Hi guys, for those who have installed the RTM version, I report that the patch is out: https://www.veeam.com/kb4415 Marco S.
A few years ago we were a Service Provider with a Cloud Connect setup and offered our customers Cloud Connect Repositories. We then saw tjen object storage really started to take off it would be costly to maintain a datacenter with this service compared to the prices object storage was offered by the hyperscalators! We then started a partnership who ran Veeam Cloud Connect environemnt with service provider console. so we could still track and monitor our customers backupjob etc. but the backup now went to the object storages. I am just wondering, is it necessary to deploy a cloud connect environment at all to just use the service provider console for monitoring jobs, update the agents etc.? I can see in the marketplace (Azure) there is a dedicate appliance with the service provider console. Would that be enough to maintain our clients? We are now using Wasabi for repositories. I guess I am having a hard time to see what we would gain from the cloud connect environment these days? (Perh
Saw discussions around this subject elsewhere, and thought it would be good to get the community’s thoughts around the subject. WIth direct to object now possible in v12, would you continue to use/recommend BCJ leveraging Veeam Cloud Connect Backup repository (with Insider Protection) or would you switch to BCJ to off-prem object storage (leverage immutability).Keen to hear peoples pros/cons. Have at it
Hi all, today I updated my Veeam Agents Free for Windows to the new version 6.x. I read about this version is no longer using SQL Express LocalDB and this is also written in the release notes. But looking in the installed software the SQL Express LocalDB is still installed. So I’m asking if SQL Express LocalDB is still needed for the Veeam Agent Free for Windows?Thank You and Kind Regeards
Hi everyone,So as you can see, I have a valid Veeam.com account and I have had it for several years now. But a few months ago, I was in the midst of some important task and logging into Veeam.com to download some software, when I was suddenly presented with a form to do… something. I can’t quite remember exactly what the purpose of it was, but Veeam wanted some additional information from me, for some reason. This included an email address, which was extra confusing since Veeam already had a valid email address for me on file. So I gave it junk data, including the email. After that though, I’m now presented with a form to verify said junk email, and I’m not allowed to access my account information until this has happened.I’m assuming I’m not the first person to have done this, since email@domain.com was already taken! At this point, I’m really just asking for forgiveness for my sin of entering junk data, in the hopes that I can have full access restored to my Veeam account. If anyone he

Hello All,When I log into Kasten-io system, I occasionally get "Slow Connection Dashboard-SVC Respond Slow" Error on the screen. Has anyone encountered and resolved this issue before? Thanks,Emre ÖZER
Hi all, During the V12 event there was an on-demand content video about Veeam-Man: Master of the Dataverse! If you haven't seen it, it's belowAs far as I have been told, the “ad” tells you that the action figures are sold separately. But, as one might expect it isn't (officially) available.
Greetings,Below is a part of Cohesity's multi-layered protection against a ransomware attack as mentioned in the Cohesity datasheet, there is a document for best practices when configuring carving regular repositories and/or SOBR from Cohesity to the Veeam Server and this is can be done over SMB or NFS protocols. my question is if we followed these best practices, can we leverage Immutable snapshots and Datalock from Cohesity with Veeam Backup? also I read this on Reddit:

A data center consists of groups of networking and computational infrastructure that process and store information for a business in a central location. To keep it secure, businesses must employ both virtual and physical systems designed to protect the data center. In addition to protecting the organization's computational assets, specific network security measures must be implemented to prevent malware attacks and other threats from penetrating the data center. Considering the above details how Incident management is a series of steps taken to identify, analyze, and resolve critical incidents to protect from Ransomware attacks what are steps taken veeam
Friends,I have a backup scheduled to automatically run daily to a network shared folder on a windows 2019 server, which I access through a share as the local admin of that server. After executing this backup, the hd where this folder is located becomes available, showing the error stating that the folder is not accessible with the warning of "incorrect function".That server is a virtual machine and runs on hyper-v.This hd that is unavailable is mounted on this virtual machine (hyper-v).For me to solve this problem I need to turn off the virtual machine and also the host, when it starts it goes back to normal. Thanks,JJ
I would be interested to know which tool for IT infrastructure you use for your or your customers environment. Here is a completely unsorted list of tools I use frequently in various environments:PowerShell with various modules like VMware PowerCLI (by the way, version 12.3 was released today) and Veeam VBR. RVtools. I think this is a widely known and used tool. Get a very detailed inventory of your vSphere environment within a few mouse-clicks. New version 4.1.2 was released yesterday. Brocade SANHealth. I think, this tool is not that well known. For me, it is THE tool for Fibre Channel fabric documentation. Just install the tool, put in data of FC switches, capture date. Then upload to brocade (respectively Broadcom). After a few hours you get a link to a extremely detailed, fully automatically generated documentation (Excel und Visio). As an alternative to putty, I prefer MobaXterm. There is a free and a paid version. It offers features like sending commands to multiple sessions

Hi all, I need support to find the correct way to merge 2 VEEAM Server into one.We have VEEAM A and VEEAM B, both with their data domain. for now these two servers are separate and we want to merge A and B to have only A.In my head we have to:Configure the DD of the VEEAM B on VEEAM A and rescan it. Configure a backup job with the VMs of the VEEAM B on the VEEAM A and, during the configuration, map the backup.if we take these steps are we OK or I’m missing something?Thank you.
