hi, im using VBR 12.3 deploy on GCE on GCP, I have succesfully backup and storing on GCS and i want to restore into GCE, and finnally failed, i consider VBR using Cloud Build to atomate restoring. the same log from VBR log and Cloud Build History. I think GCP not using GC, now using Artifact Registry, and i checked the image import link, its totally empty. any suggest in this case? the same case i using VBR 13. 

Happy Thursday Community! Thought I'd share another Linux process today – how to resize a Linux volume used as a Veeam Repository in Linux OS, specifically increasing its size. This also is in reference to using an array as your Volume-backed storage. Logical Volume Manager (LVM) processes won't be discussed. Additionally, though there is a process to decrease Volume sizes as well, I also won't be discussing that process either. When wanting to decrease Volume size, I highly recommend creating a new Volume of the desired size, then copy your data to it to prevent potential data corruption.As most of you probably know, increasing Volume sizes within Windows is pretty straight forward → increase LUN storage on your array, then rescan your disks in Windows Disk Manager, then Extend the Volume. Hi allI was wondering if it is possible to create a backup job of a VM, without having access to the VM Host Server. I have installed Backup & Replication on the VM client itself, connected a backup repository, but when I try to create a backup job, it asks for the IP and admin credentials of the VM Host. Thanks for your help

In my home lab I want to experiment with the new Veeam VBR v13 appliance. On one hand to try it out before migrating at the organization I work for, on the other hand because I love to try new things out and thinker with it. So I use the ISO deployment method to deploy on a virtual machine on Proxmox PVE, that is a supported scenario as I read in the documentation. I go through the installation procedure, slightly annoyed that I can’t select a keyboard layout and have to type a difficult password on the wrong layout, but I can manage that 😉. On my first attempt I’ve set a static IP and a simple hostname (not FQDN) and disabled IPv6. I’ve chosen not to create a security officer account, since it’s just me anyways. The option is there to skip, so I assume it’s supported. After completing the process, I can access the host management on port 10443 just fine using IP address or using the hostname(created a DNS record for it). However the normal webUI on port 443 is not responding

(running Veeam 13, Community/Free edition on Win 11).I did a bunch of migrations and updates a month ago. Before doing so I set aside the existing Veeam backups, so I have them. When I try to import a backup for one server from it (just to browse and retrieve a couple files) it tells me "Path contains invalid symbols...",. But it doesn’t. I have a path with no special characters or trailing spaces or anything like that. The message isn’t any more specific.I’ve tried mounting the file share where it exists as a mapped drive and a network location. I would copy it into the local machine to try that, but there isn’t room.Also, the import dialog says “Specify a backup to import. You can import backups from a backup repository or any managed server.” but the dropdown menu only lists the local machine and my two hyper-V hosts, not the repository (which is on a network share).Thanks.

Hi VC,Happy new year first of all!I’m currently backing up a SQL VM via the Veeam SQL Plugin to a datastore within my production environment, at the same time I’m replicating said VM via CDP to my DR site.I’ve currently setup the following schedule via the Veeam SQL Plugin:15 minute transaction / log backupDaily differential backup @ 18:30 (except Sunday)Weekly full backup (Sunday) @ 18:30The differential backups are failing when the CDP is enabled; the CDP runs 24-hours a day as we need near-zero dataloss.Any ideas how I can have these two running at the same time without the errors above?Many thanks,LGH

I was wondering if someone could help with an issue I’m having in Veeam agent for windows, I get the following error when trying to restore files from a volume backup stored on a network share. There could potentially be bug in the RTM v13 release for those that have access to it and are MSPs.  After upgrading a test box in my environment, the API/Web Services are not starting for me.I updated from 12.3.2 version and now have a case open.  I know ​@Cragdoo tested in his homelab too and found the same problem.  So wanted to make everyone aware unless you are doing a new install in which case I heard from someone else that it works fine.  I am going to test a new install myself and see if it is just the upgrade which has the problem.I will post an update to this thread once I get more details from Support and possible fixes, etc.

So turns out using Deployment Kit is the easiest way to be able to perform FLR to Windows from a Vsphere backup.Deployment kit by default contains a certificate of validity 1 month. Does the agent (transport service etc.) stop working after that? How do we manage those certs as we generally do not do many agent-based backups but want to be able to do FLR to original destination nevertheless.Thanks!

Version: 12.3.2.Problem: a copy job to a rotation drive (HDD) is running since 3 days. I stopped job and confirmed with yes, but since hours status in dashboard running jobs is “stopping”. I can disable job but not delete. What I did: restart B&R services, reopen console. Restarted whole backup server. no success. Thanks for any advices. 

Turns out that VCSP licensing for Entra for a tenant which is a multi tenant organization can become very expensive very fast… Here’s the situation, a holding with 70 employees. (nice Microsoft E5 licenses) there is a central IT and HR department that shares information to their subisidaries which are connected in multi tenant organization structure to see availability, better collaboration in Teams,…. Now we ran our initial Entra ID backup and it consumes 1200 points, where I assumed that only the real physical users with the E5 were going to eat a license. All those users fron the external tenants are of the type ‘membe’ in Entra, so this is used to calculate the number of licenses. It becomes even more expensive I think since we need for compiancy reasons also an Entra ID backup from all the subsidary tenants… Anybody any toughts on this ? I don’t see any option to soley backup the member users for which their tenant is their primary main tenant.

Veeam Backup and Replication v12.3.2 (Free)VMWare ESXi 8.0 (Free) Hello Community! I’m hoping someone here can help me.I have successfully  backed up a physical Windows server using Veeam agent. Created a recovery media to use for restore into a VM. I have created the VM with similar CPU/RAM/Disk as the physical server. Powered on VM and booted it using the recovery media. During the restoration, the process fails with these error messages (see below). I tried looking for the logs in C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup but there were so many in there so I couldn’t which one to look for. If anyone has an idea on how I can resolve this issue, please let me know.
