Solved

Hii Guys, I'm trying to find a backup to tape strategy on veeam, our company has the following two backup policies:1. Daily Policy- Backup job runs every day, job schedule starts at 07:00 PM and must be finished before 06:00 AM.- Using the Forever forward incremental method- Backup defragment is done once a week- Backup Health Check is done once a week- Retention policy is set for 30 restore points2. Weekly Policy- Job backup runs once a week, starting at 07:00 PM and must be completed before 06:00 AM.- Using the Forever forward incremental method- Backup defragment is done once a week- Backup Health Check is done once a week- Retention policy is set for 4 restore pointsHere's what I want to achieve:1. Backup is stored on tape for 1 month2. Media pool in one month is divided into 4 media sets3. Use as little tape as possible (Due to the limited number of tapes) Can someone give me some input on how to configure it to reach my target, or can anyone give me better input for my backup str

Hello All,I have successfully completed the installation of Kasten-io application. When I run the commands below to see the token information of the service accounts, it does not give any error message, but it does not show the token information either. Has anyone encountered and solved this problem before?kubectl get secret $sa_secret --namespace kasten-io -ojsonpath="{.data.token}{'\n'}" | base64 --decodesa_secret=$(kubectl get serviceaccount my-kasten-sa -o jsonpath="{.secrets[0].name}" --namespace kasten-io)Thanks,Emre ÖZER

Hi Community, I have configure my secondary backup location as aws-s3 object storage. previously I used virtual tape backup to aws via aws tape gateway. Now It gave warning when backup to aws-s3.  8/17/2022 7:10:36 PM :: Using Backup Repository 1 scale-out repository extent (unable to meet data placement policy)

Hello,I have an interrogation, about how Veeam works with Forever forward  Incremtal backup job and immuability.I know that’s not possible to use this kind of job with an hardened repository, even if you try to configure it, Veeam will pop up an error message. But how it work with capacity tier with object lock enabled?Veeam doesn’t transfer all data block to the capacity tier but only the new data blocks and metadata from each new backup file. (System similar to ReFS/XFS). I read the documentation about block generation but it’s not really clear in my head.If someone have a schema that would be nice.thanks

Hello,I'm using Veeam 11 community edition.  I'm having trouble booting from the recovery media.  First of all the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" is displayed in German.  When I do press a key the system hangs at a screen with the blue 4 pane window image, a MS Windows image.  I also noticed I don't get the option to include drivers when building the image. Please let me know if you have any ideas.Thank you,Frank

how to find veeam run time logs while integration with azure and deploying appliance

I am attempting Connect to Repository in community edition to my Google Cloud account.  I have my access and secret keys and am able to connect to my bucket but do not see any folders listed when I browse so I am unable to complete adding the repository.  I made sure the folder was created before I created the secret keys and I have tried several attempts with new/different projects within G-cloud.  Any idea why it can see my bucket but not the folder?  I have given the service account within G-cloud owner rights. Thanks for any help or suggestions

Hi,we have 4 different backup priorities and vCenter Tags which our VMs are assigned to. Now i would like to implement 3 different vCenter Tags for application-aware processing options. Unfortunatly i can’t remove the Prio4 Tag from aap settings, because it’s used for default. Whats happens if a VM has assigned 2 Tags in aap options? Is there some kind of hierarchy which option will be used? What would be best practise in this case?

Hi Everyone, When trying to create a post with multiple or one big code box the post does not get created and instead goes back to the green create post button. Is anyone aware of any limitations for code box sizes or code box numbers in relation to post text? Thanks

Hi, I am the end user and currently subscribe to cloud connect from a service provider. I am running into an issue where I have totally crushed my bandwidth limits at my DC location because of backups. I would like to shift my backup traffic to use a different gateway, much like I am able to do with object storage, but I am not seeing an option for the service provider configuration to select a different gateway. Is the only option for my backup copies to go to the cloud connect provider through the Veeam server and not a different gateway?

Hello, I’m trying to setup an application level backup for MongoDB using kasten/kanister integration in a k8s cluster,i’ve created the Kanister Profile using the Kasten interface for a S3 Compatible target (minIO) ,i’m using this YAML as a base blueprint for the backup action raw.githubusercontent.com/kanisterio/kanister/0.72.0/examples/stable/mongodb/blueprint-v2/mongo-blueprint.yaml when i execute the policy trough kasten UI, i get the following error: cause:cause:cause:fields:- name: messagevalue: "could not render object reference {mongosecret}: template: config:1:14:executing \"config\" at <.Deployment.Name>: can't evaluatefield metadata in type *param.DeploymentParams"Actually our MongoDB is deployed as a Deployment and we have annotated the deployments manifest with this annotation: kanister.kasten.io/blueprint: mongodb-blueprintWhy the kanister operator cannot evaluate correctly the GO template at runtime?

Hello Team, We notice a lot of stale pods (created on a random date in previous months of Jan, Feb and March) with the name ‘backup-data-stats-*’ and stale secrets (again created in previous months)  ‘k10-content-store-passphrase-*’ in kasten namespace. Is this a normal behaviour? Do we have to do some regular clean up for kasten namespaces? Thanks.Arun PrasadKasten version 4.5.3 Kubernetes Version v1.21.6+c180a7c Kubernetes Release Type OpenShift

how much time take to update vmce certification on veeam site after passing the exam.

I did a research for consistent PostgreSQL backups with Kasten K10 and found:https://docs.kasten.io/latest/kanister/postgresql/install_app_cons.htmlApplication Consistent PostgreSQL BackupYou described there to use a Kanister pre-hook (“pg_start_backup”) and post-hook (“pg_stop_backup”). Afaik, that alone will not create a consistent backup. You also need any generated archived WAL file between. Archiving must be enabled (archive_mode=on), archived WAL files must be backuped too, therefore. I did not find anything about how to backup archived WAL files. How will you handle them? Thanks, Markus

If the vdisk is 100G , but only 40G is used , will Veaam backup 100G or 40G in first full backup ?

Asynchronous request has failed.
