Solved

I’ve randomly had two backups corrupt at one of my clients. Not sure why it happened, but they did. On one of them, I deleted from disk all of the restore points on the local datastore, and took a new full. I left the cloud data alone, and as we speak, the new restore points are peacefully transferring offsite, no issue. The second backup has been a different story… Because of the nature of the server, I decided to take a new full and leave the old data in place, just in case. The new full local backup was fine, but the offsite failed. I tried running an active full of the offsite, but same deal; the offsite failed. So now I am trying a new strategy. I took a look at the restore points and 99% were corrupted (I believe this was the offsites), so I decided to just wipe everything and start from scratch, because I think the corrupted restore points are causing issues with the new data going offsite. The offsite failures have been throwing an error I’ve never seen before. I’ll paste it be

K10 5.5.4 on K3s (stable). All K10 deployments running, all pods also running, all PVCs bound. I was able to create a policy and use it (snapshot, export). Then I deleted that policy. Now no matter what policy settings I choose, “Create policy” button is dimmed and can’t be clicked on to apply.I tried different options including the ones I had before (simple snapshot + export). I also tried creating a policy for different applications - no change, the button is always dimmed. How to troubleshoot this?

Team,Having a hard time trying to get physical server boot from the bootable media if Secure boot enabled. Docs says it is supported, but I can boot up from the media as soon as it is disabled. See the error below. Any suggestions?  Cheers,Alex

Hi!I am starting a small lab based on the following Veeam webinar: The steps to deploy the lab are here:https://github.com/MichaelCade/project_pace/blob/main/Zero%20to%20Hero%20-%20Kubernetes%20and%20Kasten%20K10.mdI deployed this single environment in Oracle Virtual Box VM and Ubuntu desktop. But I have being problems with pre-flight checks: Some components are in error state and trying to restart. The Kasten GUI is working, but it is presenting the error: Request failed with status code 500 (dashboardbff-svc).  I can create policies but it is not possible to apply the “run once” command, for sample. Nothing happens.Do you know how can i fix it?Thanks for your help! :-)

Gracias

Hi guys, what is the best option/tool/software to migrate, minimizing downtime, VMs from an esxi host with Intel CPU to an esxi with AMD CPU? I can think of: Veeam CDP policy Veeam quick migration VMWare cold migration VMware converter Can you think of any other methods? Marco S.

So is it safe to use online password stores?  What is your opinion? Lastpass announcement https://blog.lastpass.com/2022/11/notice-of-recent-security-incident/

Is there a way to test the encryption key on backups without having to run a restore? I ran into a situation recently where the encryption password did not work on restored data. I want to setup Enterprise Manager for everyone, but in the interim, I’d like to manually test each encryption key and reset it/run a new full backup if need be. Is there a way to recover an encryption key with Service Provider Console?

Hello Team,Quick question - Does the Veeam Replication Re-IP concept work only for VM with Single network adapter? What if the replicating VMs has multiple network adapters? The Re-ip cannot be used? Thanks in advance!~ Ravi Kumar S

Job site - Backup USB\site - Backup Job cannot be started Job failed unexpectedly Job finished with error. How do I correct this issue? We have plugged and unplugged USB drive but that did not resolve the issue. Using Veeam Back and Replication 10

Colleagues, Anyone knows how to enable that checkbox by Powershell? Trying to build 100% powershell deployment and can’t find how to enable that settings.Cheers,Alexey

After restoring the entire VM (VMWare), i restarting the system with disk check and the error returns. I try restore first and last point, but nothing. Help me. Please.

Hello, i’m trying to install k10 on a "on-premise” k8s cluster. Kubernetes v1.25.1 with 4 worker nodes and 3 control-planes. StorageClass is provided Rook-ceph filesystem ad the the rook-ceph environment is at latest release. To be short, all seems to be working fine including the pre-flight checks but with helm install my-k10 kasten/k10 --version 5.5.3kubectl get pods aggregatedapis-svc-9b5775d64-db4bj 1/1 Running 0 23mauth-svc-cf4646c89-vwjm5 1/1 Running 0 23mcatalog-svc-5bddbd67b5-dm7rs 0/2 Init:CrashLoopBackOff 9 (2m29s ago) 23mcontrollermanager-svc-78b8fb4bf7-td5z9 1/1 Running 0 23mcrypto-svc-7f4ff8b479-wzvck 4/4 Running 0 23mdashboardbff-svc-d87fc5bc-fmr7h 2/2 Running 0 23mexecutor-svc-7f5dc6c874-2858w 2/2 Running 0

Good day folks, my name is Alessandro and I’m a legacy (and old) system and backup admin who recently started working with K10/Openshift.In this topic I’d like to ask the community if there is a way to tell K10 “send me one email every morning, containing the list of iussues occurred yesterday with the protection of namespaces/project.”Support suggested me to follow this guidehttps://docs.kasten.io/latest/operating/monitoring.html?highlight=grafana#grafana-alertsand I did it, but I only get unuseful mails with the “backup ended overall” test in the body.I googled a lot and I’ve found this articlehttps://24xsiempre.com/en/set-up-email-alerts-kasten-k10/If I understand well, they decided to bypass grafana (which is kind of an overkill just to get an email...) installed a second prometheus and managed to get some email. Does anyone struggled with the same task I’m working on? Potentially trying something like in the previous post? Thanks in advance

Ciao a tutti, domanda per i Veeam Service Provider del gruppo: qualcuno di voi ha una architettura Cloud Connect deployata su un public cloud? Feedback su prestazioni e costi? Grazie Marco S.

hello,i have two Vmware Clusters now both in 6.7 version i want to upgrade to 7 version but for some hardware reaseans i can’t upgrade replication cluster. i already have a replication job in veaam replicate VMs from the master cluster to the replication cluster, my question is if i upgrade the master cluster to 7 version is the replication will work ????

Hi All,I have a question about completing replication jobs if the replication windows exceeds.  For the initial replication, Veeam will transfer the base full size of the replicated VM. Let's suppose it's a huge size VM and initial replication did not finish in the repli action window. When the next schedule run, will Veeam start transferring from the beginning for the initial full or incremental replica that does not finish, or it will continue from the stopped point abd replication does not take another time and size? I have read about (resume disconnect) but need to make sure from the experts? https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/replica_resume_disconnect.html?ver=110Let's suppose the replication window from(17:00-23:30) only. Thanks
