There is definitely a connection issue to the AlwaysOn server. Not sure exactly but best suggestion at this point is to open a support ticket with Veeam to deep dive the logs. @Sukuna09 - agree with Chris here...you’re just not making a connection from the get-go.Keep us posted what Support finds out.

Hi @Sukuna09 -As Chris shares, we need a bit more info to be able to try and help. I believe the log location, on the computer you’re using the Plugin on is:%PROGRAMDATA%\Veeam\Backup\MSSQLPluginLogs folderAnd, if you’re running the Plugin from the VBR server, look in:%PROGRAMDATA%\Veeam\Backup\Plugin folderHopefully there’ll also be a job name folder or job name log file with info on the job you attempted to run.Another place to look is Windows Event logs on the computer you’re running the Plugin on. Maybe there’s info there too. Let us know.

Hi @miriam1989 -Running Surebackup can certainly be one part of DR testing. It enables you to run your backups in isolation to verify they’re restorable in the event of some disaster/mishap/cyber incident. Another DR test you can perform is random recovery to a DR site from your Replications...if you use/have VBR Replication configured. This route is, imo, more “real world” as you have a copy of production VMs ready and waiting in your virtual infrastructure ready to go, albeit in a DR location. The only piece you may need to configure is networking to resemble your main site (CO) for your prod VMs to run properly. There is a Veeam tool you could implement to help you automate some of your Replication and Repl Recovery tasks as well - Veeam Recovery Orchestrator. Veeam just added a new ‘group’ area here in the Hub (VRO Den) with quite a few tutorials on it to get you started (see below):For “general” how-to vidz on Replication, you can go take a spin with any of the many free Hands-On-
Hi @MarkD -The only thing I can see from your log output is Veeam seems to be having a hard time, or is unable to, read your metadata file (the .vbm file, named: NMA B2D ALL.vbm ), as others have shared above. Is this file even present in your Repository storage? If so, then it just may be corrupted and as others have shared, you can remove the file, then perform a rescan of your Repository to recreate it; then reattempt your job. If you’re still having problems, I think we all may have exhausted all our knowledge and just recommend you get in touch with Veeam Support...unless someone has other thoughts?

Hmmm..ok.I was going to suggest the local account approach as well, but then the DNS idea popped in my head. Also, the Backup Browser is separate. You can browse the directory structure there because it’s the backup you’ve chosen mounted to the local computer you’re running the Veeam Console from. It isn’t browsing the network. You’re browsing the backup file 🙂I'm out of ideas, other than what I've already shared. I recommend getting ahold of Support to see if they can resolve it for you.
@netw0rkn1nja - because you’re restoring to domain from a workgroup, I think the option you choose is Copy To. Can you put in the server IP in the path of the destination you’re attempting to restore to, for ex.?\\192.168.2.123\share\folder-locationIf this works, you may need to add the destination server in your local hosts file.
So, are you getting the Backup Browser window open at least? I’m trying to think about Windows here...but I do know with Linux I, at times, get prompted for credentials of the Linux server I want to restore files to, as stated from the Guide. In reviewing the Backup Browser restoring Windows files, in item #5, it does state you are prompted for credentials under the Copy Files or Folders to Console or Shared Folder section.Credentials PromptedYou’re not getting prompted though?
