Veeam Recovery Media ISO bug

Hi @redscreen -Not heard of that before. If you're using Windows 2022, there is a known issue creating recovery media from it. You can create it on a lesser server OS (2019, 2016). If using Windows desktop, I don't recall issues on those platforms....maybe Win11? You can contact Veeam Support to report the bug you've experienced.

No worries. 😊And, in relooking at your warning msg, that message is pretty explicit. Your job didn't have anything to process. Make sure you have all the required settings in your job configured to back up what you are intending to.

Hi @Mahmood.Alganadi -I think I’m kind of out of ideas. On the Backup server, you can look at the Job log in:C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Backup\<job-name-folder\Job.<job-name>.log file. Review it to see if anything is shown in there. Also, verify if your credentials in your Job are valid to connect to your DB server.The only other suggestion I have is to get ahold of Veeam Support. I mean, maybe someone else here has an idea to assist you, but keep in mind this is a Community site to engage with others. And, when follks post asking for assistance with things, we do try our best to assist, but we are not Support. Support has way more tools to help resolve issues customers encounter.

Veeam Reporting - not using VeeamONE

Hi @Ladislav Boka -Welcome to the Community! Veeam EM is one way, as Wesley has shared. But, if you don’t want to do that, the only other way I’m aware of is simply to enable notifications in the Veeam Console for all Backup Job results → success, warning, failure. You can then get notified the results of your Jobs. Otherwise, there is no native way within Veeam itself to perform the type of reporting you’re wanting.

There is definitely a connection issue to the AlwaysOn server.  Not sure exactly but best suggestion at this point is to open a support ticket with Veeam to deep dive the logs. @Sukuna09 - agree with Chris here...you’re just not making a connection from the get-go.Keep us posted what Support finds out.

Hi @Sukuna09 -As Chris shares, we need a bit more info to be able to try and help. I believe the log location, on the computer you’re using the Plugin on is:%PROGRAMDATA%\Veeam\Backup\MSSQLPluginLogs folderAnd, if you’re running the Plugin from the VBR server, look in:%PROGRAMDATA%\Veeam\Backup\Plugin folderHopefully there’ll also be a job name folder or job name log file with info on the job you attempted to run.Another place to look is Windows Event logs on the computer you’re running the Plugin on. Maybe there’s info there too. Let us know.

Disaster Recovery testing

Hi @miriam1989 -Running Surebackup can certainly be one part of DR testing. It enables you to run your backups in isolation to verify they’re restorable in the event of some disaster/mishap/cyber incident. Another DR test you can perform is random recovery to a DR site from your Replications...if you use/have VBR Replication configured. This route is, imo, more “real world” as you have a copy of production VMs ready and waiting in your virtual infrastructure ready to go, albeit in a DR location. The only piece you may need to configure is networking to resemble your main site (CO) for your prod VMs to run properly. There is a Veeam tool you could implement to help you automate some of your Replication and Repl Recovery tasks as well - Veeam Recovery Orchestrator. Veeam just added a new ‘group’ area here in the Hub (VRO Den) with quite a few tutorials on it to get you started (see below):For “general” how-to vidz on Replication, you can go take a spin with any of the many free Hands-On-

Hi @MarkD -The only thing I can see from your log output is Veeam seems to be having a hard time, or is unable to, read your metadata file (the .vbm file, named: NMA B2D ALL.vbm ), as others have shared above. Is this file even present in your Repository storage? If so, then it just may be corrupted and as others have shared, you can remove the file, then perform a rescan of your Repository to recreate it; then reattempt your job. If you’re still having problems, I think we all may have exhausted all our knowledge and just recommend you get in touch with Veeam Support...unless someone has other thoughts?
