As you know, we need a name for this cat There were a lot of suggestions from you across all social media channels, so we put together a shortlist, a poll for community members to choose the best name.
Although there is a lot of great content out there, sometimes you may just be stuck and not sure what your next steps should be.I’ve been planning some YouTube live Q&A/Study group sessions and wanted to check if there would be any interest in such a format from the good folks here?
Hi, Hopefully I’m not alone in my wishing of this but I believe that Veeam need to adopt an MFA offering for their sign in systems. The amount of services covered by the Veeam single sign on is increasing and there are some services that would really benefit from the increased security such as the ProPartner portal. Also I’m interested to hear everyone’s experience with the “keep me signed in” setting for Veeam. I don’t find it keeps me signed in longer than a day on average. MFA + keep me signed in for 14/28 days would be awesome improvements this year IMO.
Is it possible in the future releases to see Veeam B&R appliance? physical or virtual?
A very interesting feature in Veeam Backup for Office 365.You can get an email alert when data from defined users is accessed in VBO V5.I think this would be a great feature for the “normal” Exchange backup, too.https://benyoung.blog/get-a-notification-when-restricted-user-data-is-accessed-in-veeam-backup-for-office365/ Thanks to Ben Young for the detailled description.
In VBR v11 v11 there are several improvements on User Interface –Console And Enterprise Manager But are you using all the features that Enterprise Manager has?One of them In v11 there will SAML For vSphere Self-Service Portal•Added support for SAML accounts (e.g. at service providers)•External users and groups•Group quotas have usual behavior•Delegation mode: vSphere tags
I just wanted to post about my upcoming book for those that might be interested in learning about Veeam v10. The book is title - Mastering Veeam Backup & Replication 10 from Packt Publishing. It is in pre-order now on Packt and Amazon. It will cover some of the more advanced topics in Veeam v10 and requires some knowledge. It will be a great reference for anyone wanting to learn more about Veeam. If you have any questions just let me know. The publishing date is noted for March 9th but I have fast tracked the chapters which are all done now so that we can move the date up sooner to February timeframe hopefully. I can post more news once I have some. Please share, as per your experience the best backup target for the repository.
hi alli make sure username and accont and turn off firewall
Just read a excellent and very comprehensive article about VMware vSphere VM quiescing. This is the necessary process - within a VM - to get a consistent status of the guest OS (especially virtual disk) and applications. So VM gets quiesced before vSphere snapshot is created. Because VBR uses (like I think any other backup software vendor) vSphere snapshots for backup/replication, I thought this article would be interesting to share. It is definitely worth reading and I highly recommend to do so!https://blog.zuthof.nl/2020/11/26/vsphere-vm-quiescing-essentials/Here a short overview:What is quiescing? Consistency options Non-quiesced Crash consistent Quiesced File-system consistent Application consistent Interfaces Veeam uses Network (RPC) vSphere VIX Usage in Windows VSS Script Linux Script Quiescing impact on app recovery Transaction Logs Quiescing impact on performance Snapshot based Impact because of vSphere
Hi allwhen i try to delete backup repository failed to delete
I have a performance tier on a scale-out of several repositories and a capacity tier on object storage. I copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created so I can have a disaster recovery in case a repository failed irremediably. What is the best practice to restore the whole data of a repository starting from data in object storage?
I am using VEEAM community on my cell phone often, especially in the evenings When I want to write an comment on my cell phone there are few functions avaliable only…On my PC the comment window has a whole bunch more functions. So it would be a huge improvement for me when the available functions were equal on all plattforms… What do you think?

Hi!I need to select in Powershell all backup jobs that do not have a backup copy associated yet. They are vCloud backup jobs. The complete task, just to give you a better understanding, involves checking if every backup job on a pre-filled list (not all backup jobs are on the list) has a backup copy.I’m looking for a properties or anything else you could suggest. Thanks in advance
Hey guys!As promised, I’m starting a Friday Funday thread! This is completely and totally off topic space. Let’s share Christmas pics, decorations, trees, first snow, and everything around New Year and Christmas theme!
Something new is comming in Veeam v11Register here and be the first to know when it's available 🤓https://go.veeam.com/v11
I often don’t have the time to look at certain topics. So, it would be great if the community had a read me later or bookmarking feature, besides the possibility to subscribe to topics. The subscription list doesn’t quite fit this task as it will get messy over the time.
So, I’m going to be working on rebuilding our repos to be Linux repos to leverage the new security in V11.If you were going to build a repo for 15 TB drives running on VSphere 6.7. Ubuntu. These will provide back up copies to 5 customers each. I can look at what the specs are but I want to know what you all think. Thanks all :)

Hello all,I’m trying to determine if Veeam B&R supports the IBM FlashSystem A9000 Storage for Storage Integration. The Add Storage wizard only lists IBM Spectrum Virtualize and the Get Plug-in webpage doesn’t list any other IBM storage plug-ins. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks
Hi, A feature I think would be great is to enable the Veeam vSphere plugin without requiring Enterprise Manager. Now we are on HTML5 people are looking for the “single pane of glass” experience. It would be great to see Veeam Protection information polled straight from Veeam B&R. Currently the enterprise manager requirement can put extra burden on infrastructures using default SQL Express for example.
Hi all when i when i try to restore any objcet through sharepoitn failed unlocated content database Note this machine is remote veeam server (VBRC) is workgourp

I’m investigating for 2021 to replace our dedup appliance, i really like the HPE Apolo Gen10 to store veeeam data on xfs!One node full HDD 50k~ 960TB, 512 gb ram, 4*25gb, xeonOne node full SSD 250k ~ 600 TB, 512 gb ram, 4*25gb, xeonThe second is expansive but could be usefull for application but very low RTO and instant Recovery DB! I want to build something focus about restore, we’r no more dupe with xfs :)
