I did a research for consistent PostgreSQL backups with Kasten K10 and found:https://docs.kasten.io/latest/kanister/postgresql/install_app_cons.htmlApplication Consistent PostgreSQL BackupYou described there to use a Kanister pre-hook (“pg_start_backup”) and post-hook (“pg_stop_backup”). Afaik, that alone will not create a consistent backup. You also need any generated archived WAL file between. Archiving must be enabled (archive_mode=on), archived WAL files must be backuped too, therefore. I did not find anything about how to backup archived WAL files. How will you handle them? Thanks, Markus

Happy Friday everyone!Today I'd like to see what you're all talking & reading about.I'm talking blogs, podcasts, vodcasts etc.Have you got a blog that you're actively writing in? Share it below! Got a blog/podcast/vodcast that you read the moment anything new is released? Share it below and WHY you like it so much? With tools such as Feedly, Reeder and other RSS clients gathering so many sources of data, it's interesting to see what keeps you "in the know".For example my RSS feed is full of Legends, Vanguards, and even Veeam staff, so I can see what's going on in the other corners of Veeam. But in addition to that, there are some great sources of information that I love to read up on such as: Security:Bruce Schneier - https://www.schneier.com/ - A wholistic view of securityOrca Security - https://orca.security - This company has found some incredibly high profile AWS/Azure vulnerabilities with great post-mortums.Microsoft Security Response Center - https://msrc-blog.microsoft.com/ -
The Korner is a place where you can start your Kubernetes Journey.Veeam understood correctly that a huge group of IT specialists will need to get familiar with Kubernetes at an accelerate time frame because the demand for specialists will grow exponentially. However, this is much easier said than done given the fact that many people are working a full-time job and perhaps still believe that they have not yet achieved enough expertise in existing technologies that they are working with. The Kubernetes Korner will help everyone overcome these difficulties and learn together. What can you do at the Kubernetes Korner? Do the daily Kube Task, a brief Kubernetes task in an environment that we help you setup Ask any question you may have Create posts. Watch out for special events and meetings that are Cloud Native related Think of any ideas for the Kube Korner, this is your Korner too! We are all on this learning path together and our joint efforts will result in everyone’s common success!!
I am new to Veeam and would like to restore the backup to a new location. The wizard takes me through steps to restore. In the datastore menu does it automatically create the VM with the new name. This is production server just need to know more before proceeding. Is this the only wizard for restore or after completing this wizard there will be another wizard to be completed. Is the live server online when the server is restored?
Hello guys,To implement the 3-2-1-1-0 golden rule with Veeam Backup for Office 365 I have the following configuration:On an onpremise repository I backup my Organization on a specific partition with VBO for MS365I created a specific Veeam Agent job in my VBR to backup this specific partition on a SOBR with an immutable bucket.I thought that it would be possible to restore directly from this backup to Exchange Online , etc like mentionned here :https://forums.veeam.com/post414246.html#p414246But I dont have the same options... If I try to used the Application Items, i selection my restore point but nothing show up in the broswerAny idea?Regards

This wasn’t on my 2022 bingo card… According to MinIO, Nutanix Objects has been using MinIO for years without disclosing this, and after years of discussions, they’ve been unable to find a good faith solution to this. Therefore MinIO have revoked Nutanix’s licenses to MinIO software. I don’t want to misinterpret this as MinIO’s blog post has strong legal vibes to it, but MinIO are advising customers of Nutanix Objects may have legal & security risks by continuing to use Nutanix Objects. You can find MinIO’s statement here: https://blog.min.io/nutanix-objects-violates-minios-open-source-license/As of the time of writing, I’ve been unable to find any announcements from Nutanix relating to their perspective on the matter, via their social media, blog or news resources. If you utilise Nutanix Objects, you certainly need to question how this impacts you, and sooner rather than later!
Hi Veeam Team, I would like to ask if you have any deployment of veeam, which is th Mgmt is located on prem and the repository is located on the the Huawei Cloud. Cant find specific article on that, please feel free to share docs :) Thanks

Happy Friday! We’re over halfway to 2023 (sorry to depress you!), it’s not uncommon for people to start a new year with goals or wishes for the year. How are yours shaping up? Are you on track? Have you had a busy start to the year but still have time to get on track? Share how you’re doing and any achievements below! For me, I knew I was starting a new job, so I wanted to make sure I passed my probation (I did), move house (I have), and either advance my Azure, VMware or Kubernetes knowledge and pass an exam in one of these subjects, I haven’t yet but now I’m getting into a better frame of mind I can start on this! I also had a great year with my blog last year and I wanted to prove its not a fluke by getting a similar view count this year as last year, I’m also proud to say I’ve smashed that 😁 Your turn community!
Hi TeamWe have a customer where we have VBO deployed on premise with a local onpremise repository attached to an Object storage.Customer was requesting for option to perform a monthly full backup to cloud and also a yearly backup to cloud .Would this be possible ? Please confirm on the possibilities .I have created an archival object storage repository for the same .Based on my understanding of the technology , only backup copy to archival storage can be configured which will do a direct copy of the existing backup job.

Hi TeamI have a customer where we have configured VBA for AWS backups across different tenants..KMS encryption configured for at the repository level.VBA integration with VBR using the VBA plugin to assist with centralized licensing and a single pane of glass for VBA management has also been configured.Customer was hoping he could create a backup copy job of data residing on AWS to an Azure or GCP bucket.Would this be possible ? If Yes How and if not possible would it be possible to configure a backup copy to a different region within AWS itself. Was unable to bringup any details of the same .Someone from Veeam presales had stated that it would be possible with regular password encryption and not KMS but how would this be achieved. ThxKarun
Hello,I would like to clarify the configuration of my capacity tier in my SOBR. I used a Wasabi bucket with object-lock enabled.I have a backup job set to run daily with 14 days retention and weekly synthetic fulls. I have a gfs policy defined with 6 monthly and 1 yearly. The immutability set on the capacity extent is 14 days. If my understand is correct all gfs backups that sit on the capacity tier still only immutable for the immutable days set on the capacity extent. Right? How do you protect this backup? I read a solution with AWS Glacier but I m not using AWS services.Regards.

Looking for guidance on which object storage performance tool provides the most reliable results. We’ve worked with COSBench and with S3-Benchmark Tool. Wondering what experience you’ve had with these tools or other tools… Thank in advance for your responses.
