Hi Team,

I would like to verify if we will backup the NAS (which is located in Prod), how can we replicate it to the other site? via Backup Copy job?

I believed veeam replication is for VMs only, but customer have NAS and must have a copy as well in DR site

Thanks

Hi Justine

Have you tried the secondary target setting?

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/file_share_backup_job_secondary_target.html?ver=110

That setting will copy all file version to a secondary backup repository.
If you are looking for NAS replication similar to vm replication, that is not possible with Veeam.

Thanks

Fabian

What @Mildur said is spot on, with that being said. What brand NAS are you working with? If it’s something common such as QNAP or Synology, I’m sure someone will have experience in setting up what you wish to achieve.

If you are using Synology, this might be of help: How do I sync data between multiple Synology NAS via Synology Drive Server? - Synology Knowledge Center

The secondary target as mentioned by Mildur is probably the best option unless you want to set up NAS replication or copy.  Let us know the NAS type.

As all said, vendor would help, also what you want to achieve, but replica is between NASes, usually vendor tools or rsync for linux based ones or between vendors,

SYNOLOGY ← → QNAP

if is Sinology, very easy wizard and documentation,

cheers,
