When I manually install Windows agent, it installs with GUI, thus I’m able to perform backups from that particular PC. But I need Agent to perform backups from B&R Console installed elsewhere. When I create the backup job from the Console, it makes a rescan of the PC with Agent installed, then does some ‘MSI packet repair’. So the Agent’s GUI disappears and Agent ‘transforms’ to the version compatible with Console. My question here is how can I at once install Agent to be used with Console? Is there some key can be used with MSI packet to directly install Consol-aware version of Agent?

Are there any other advanced backup storage calculators kind of like the one Veeam has?Calculator - VM (veeam.com)I’m trying to get a good estimation of storage needs. Don’t get me wrong, you can probably never have enough storage 😂 but with that comes budget. The one from Veeam I’m using total amount of space taken by current VMs in the datacenter. It doesn’t take into account growth (additional VMs) or reduction (consolidation/removal of VMs). Our SAN is right around 90TB but remote datacenters have local stroages for VMs at about 3TB and 1.5TB respectively.  Do I size based off SAN/local array storage?

I am trying  to Do the updates on 2 diff company's that I manage, but currently have a Drive space issue on both of them. Need some guidance on how can i transfer the current installation from C drive to another drive and some assistance on how to move the current configuration from  the current server to  a brand new server thats going to do the backups.I checked some documentations but was not able to find any  good material myself.Thank you in advance

Howdy,  I am trying to crack why my application aware backups aren’t working as expected. I am trying to back up MS SQL server including transaction logs. In the statistics → details overview, there’s plenty of these errors: 12/5/2024 2:10:27 PM :: Failed to connect to guest agent via GIP, failing over to guest runtime components through VIX via GIP12/5/2024 2:10:51 PM :: Failed to inject guest runtime components via GIP, failing over to guest agent connection via GIPFor the backup job, on the app aware screen, the “test credentials” works well for both of my database servers (i.e. ends up with green circle with white checkbox), however the T-LOG backup is incredibly slow. The environment is as follows: Veeam server isn’t domain joined, database servers are.  The databases in question operate in basic Always ON availability groups The account used to connecting to the servers is both local admin and sysadmin on the SQL server The user profile for the account used by veeam (the domain o

Hi,I had some errors on a Veeam Backup and Replication 11.0.1.1261 (latest): Backup from a dedicated backup server and the target is a physical windows machine that uses Veeam Agent 5.0.1.4584 (latest) Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond %IPADRESS%:2500Backup job is managed by Backup server.Port 2500 is opened in both directions, and  Kaspbersky Security is used and the Veeam processes are whitelisted. Have applied several fixes from the forums but the problem keeps occuring when backup is made from this specific machine only. And the first run is often faulty but when executed a second run it works without any errors. This text is from nov 1st, i have updated the software to the latest and problem still occurs. the NAS and the backup object are online all the time and on same subnet.  thanks

I’m using Veeam for backing up my virtual machines and I’m looking for a way to automate the backup process for multiple VMs at once. Can anyone guide me on how to set up automated backups for multiple VMs using Veeam, or point me to resources or best practices?

Hello Veeam Community, maybe someone can Help me.I have an Virtual Machine that i need to backup. Before i do that, i need to shutdown the VM,create Backup and then Run the Vm again. I thought i can do that with Powershell script, but i run in an error.Script finished execution with exit code -1.When the Job starts, i can see that the VM shut down, then Veeam take 10 minutes to try to backup and run in the error. As i understood, Veeam should  run the PS Script before the Job and when he´s done do it again. If i Run the Script in the Powershell console, then i have no problems.Did someone have an idea? Thanks and greetings

Veeam v12, does Wasabi support SOSAPI as I’m trying to create an archive tier. It looks like SOSAPI has to be used with archive. Is this correct?

Hello Veeam Gnus ;)Got myself totally confused so can someone unpick this for me?I need to protect a single physical DC which has all FSMO roles. So guessing I don’t need a Protection group as its 1 computer. So do I just create a Veeam Agent job and add the DC ? But can I use a gMSA ? I want to use the Explorer and I am sure I read that you can’t use a gMSA with explorers ? In which case I need to create a domain account and add to BuiltIn Administrators group in AD ? (InfoSec are not going to like that !)Presume I also will not need a GiP because the Agent job will install the Agent on the DC which will remain persistent ?Have I got that all right ? I’m seeing double after reading so much ! Thanks Guys Phil

We have upgraded VBR and EM to version 12.2. According to our discussion with the OS team, due to a vulnerability, they need to remove the older version 3.1.32.31915. We can only see the highlighted .NET version required for version 12.2NET Framework and ASP.NET Core Shared Framework 8.0 We observed  .NET Core runtime 3.1.32 and .NET Runtime 7.0.20 in VBR server We would like to know if we can remove .NET Core runtime 3.1.32 and .NET Runtime 7.0.20, as it is not mentioned in the articlePlease advise.

Grazie

1. I get the Error code: 0x80070005 for restore2. Whether i restore backed up database to existing database(to overwrite) or another database created, i get above error.3. After restore fail at 1st attempt, the existing database(Schooldb) was removed/gone, i had to recreate it.4. After restore fail at 2nd attempt, the second db i created to point restore to (Recoverydb) has also been delteted, no longer appears in ssms.I can still do backups via veeam sql plugin. The restore is just not working properyIs this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

When I went to download the updater for Veeam I get redirected to a page that ask to upgrade my profile and requires a business email which I do not have. I am running the community version.

This person and many others on youtube installed the veeam sql plugin and after installation, the plugin is fully integrated in the ssms gui. I am running similar ssms versions and after veeam sql plugin install, the plugin icons are scattered on desktop. I am running Veeam VBR 12.1Could you kindly explain why this is so?

Has anyone setup bonding with the VHR ISO? This probably isn’t VHR ISO specific but I thought I’d give it a good try.  Eventually the server this is going on will become my primary repo to replace the NAS my backups are going to currently. With that said, I’m using two Dell S4112T switches in a VLT configuration with a 40Gb QSFP to 4x 10Gb SFP+ breakout cables providing a 10Gb link from each switch.  Server is a Dell PowerEdge R550 with Broadcom 57414 Dual Port 10/25 GbE SFP28 OCP NIC.  I’ve configured a port channel on the switches and configured an 802.3ad (Mode 4) bond on the server but watching pings run while the server is just sitting at the configuration in the installer, I’ve seen it drop a few packets here and there for a while and then it comes back up.  Looking at the switches when this happens, both of the interfaces and the port channel are showing up/up.  Bond configuration is as below (aside from the MTU being set to 9000 after I took the screenshot, but the effect was th

Hello,Today, the backup of our domain controller is no longer working and we can't access the host. Everything was working fine until now.17/11/2024 21:00:44 Failed Unable to install backup agent: failed to connect to "domainename" Error: Account restrictions are preventing this user from signing in.  I am testing Kasten on an RKE2 cluster and have encountered an issue during the disaster recovery (DR) restore process. Below is a detailed overview of my setup and the specific error I am facing: Cluster and Namespace Setup: I have installed Kasten in the kasten namespace (not in the default kasten-io namespace). Restore Process: During the restore, I am running the following command: helm install k10-restore kasten/k10restore --namespace=kasten --set sourceClusterID=<cluster id>  --set profile.name=k10-test Error Encountered: I receive the following error message during the restore process: cannot get resource "configmaps" in API group "" in the namespace "kasten-io" Additional Context and Question: It seems the restore process is attempting to access resources in the kasten-io namespace rather than the kasten namespace where Kasten is installed. Is it not possible to restore Kasten with Kasten DR if the namespace is not kasten-io? If there is a confi

Good day team,Is there a plugin solution for Postgresql running on ubuntu/linux desktoip edition(application level). Have some databases that i want to selectively backup and restore. I do not want to backup at the image/file level which is simple.I need something similar to the veeamsql plugin where i can configure the plugin, open the “backup database” app on a gui/desktop and view databases, run the backup on selected databases and the corresponding jobs pop up in veeam BR gui. Need to be able to Restore as well. Thanks guys

A few issues that needs to be addressed urgently though1. I see the successful application plugin job listed under jobs in vbr12 gui but the EDIT, START, RETRY, CLONE and STOP are greyed out. Can this be fixed 2. On the Sql test server, where do view these veeamsql plugin jobs, their schedules in SMSS or the plugin app. Whenever i close the backup database icon and reopen it, i see no job/schedule, just a new blank window. How can this be addressed? 3.Do i have to keep the "Backup Dtabase" icon/app up all the time, i see no schedule

Is the updated installable ISO available yet for the VHR?

Hello,we want to use VEEAM for a backup on a WORM Drive. It is some kind of NAS with a WORM partition. The Problem is, that the after the first backup the backup job ends with an error. This is because the meta file (.vbm) needs to be altered for every backup. But since it is a WORM system, this is not possible.I searched and found out, that there is a possibilty for a tape WORM server in VEEAM. But firstly, the NAS is not a tape server und secondly this option is greyed out, maybe it is some sort of license problem.Has anyone an idea of how to resolve this issue?

Detail:A month ago I posted a question with specific version 7.0.10 in the topic.  I had issues and needed to revert, so I went back to my working 7.0.6 version.  Today I went to try again. Kasten Upgrade page says to apply 7.0.10 before 7.0.14.  Of course, 7.0.10 was pulled and doesnt exist.  7.0.11 says it was to specifically address the issues in 7.0.10, so I read this as a re-release.Since 7.0.6 doesnt know about 7.0.10 or 7.0.14, it must come from an external system. This should be corrected to reflect that 7.0.10 no longer exists. So I apply 7.0.11. Totally fine. Then move on to 7.0.14.Issue:the “state-svc” pod is failing to start with a CreateContainerConfigError state. Specifically, the admin-svc container. The event-svc and state-svc containers are starting. The admin-svc container is demanding a specific set of env variables, including:    CONCURRENT_SNAP_CONVERSIONS         <set to the key 'concurrentSnapConversions' of config map 'k10-config'>    CONCURRENT_WORKLOAD_SNA
