Fellow Veeam Service Providers,  I have some questions about how you approach licensing and reporting (to either internal sales dept or Veeam themselves). Specifically when it comes to rental licenses cut from pulse (via the VSPC plugin) and provided to customers to apply directly on their Veeam product servers.I’ve found that the usage report only pulls data about customer Veeam servers that have the management agent installed on them, where they are associated with a customer record in VSPC. What I am wondering is how do you ensure that all customers have that management agent running and connected? Do you make it a company policy that they must install it, and follow up regularly to make sure it is? Is there some kind of method which will force them to be connected, or their license will fail to function?It seems that the process depends too much on the customer keeping that agent installed and connected, which is out of our control.If anyone has some suggestions, or articles on the

Hi All, Doing the initial install of backup for Salesforce CE. Got to the point of connecting Veeam to SF Connected App with key/secret then: HTB8: Salesforce responded with an error: I/O error on GET request for "https://login.salesforce.com/services/oauth2/authorize": PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target; nested exception is javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target The callback URL is showing a certificate error, so I’m not sure whether:I should focus on fixing the URL certificate. I need to whitelist something on the Salesforce side. Both (or something else entirely!) Any suggestions on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance,Matt

In rps.dewin.me we were able to configure weekly, monthly, yearly (NON-GFS) in the regular job, select when they run and get the chain length (don’t care about the size). This helped when providing insight in a visual way of what the chains would look like depending on their configuration. Right now, it’s default of weekly fulls and the option to use GFS. If a customer has a weekly full and then monthly full but not GFS, this doesn’t help in those situations. Is there a plan to add this like it was in rps.dewin?

I started installing Veaam backup&replication (v12). I ran out of space on the VM where it was installed so I aborted the installation. After I did that I got the following error when running setup.exe:An error has occurred: C:Program FilesVeeam Backup and Replication CatalogVeeam.Backup.CatalogDataService.exeI deleted as much as I could and can't find any traces of Veaam. Then tried again, but it doesn't work. Server rebooted several times as well.

I upgraded from 12.0 to 12.3.0.310. No other change.VBR runs fine, but now I cannot logon from my local console using the machine’s domain name; i can, however, using its IP address.I’ve tried:Remove the VBR server machine from the domain, then rejoin it - no change Ping the server with success NsLookup the server name with success Flush the DNS with IpConfig - no change Tried to rerun the VBR installer, but it can’t repair, only suggests to remove(!) VBRNothing about this in the release notes.Anything else to attempt? Or, has some bug been introduced with VBR 12.3 or its installer?  

Hello, We have noticed lately that the VSPC “Active Alarms” page is very noisy and hard to work in. All of the errors from both our VBR host servers and our Veeam Agent for Windows workstations all end up in the “Active Alarms” tab and it makes the page far too hectic to easily manage. I’d like to request the ability to separate the alarms by what service/agent is throwing the alarm. This would make it much easier for us to deal with the alarms coming in and allow us to more easily manage and resolve the alarms. Thank you,

Let me start by saying that I made a mistake. I upgraded a physical Dell R730XD from Server 2019 to Server 2025. It technically only supports up to Server 2019 but I didn’t find this out after having issues and doing research. The install went fine and Veeam ran perfectly for about 5 days. Then the server was locked up. I could only move the mouse and the CPU was pegged at 100%. I rebooted and it worked for a few days and locked up again. I noticed that after being on for about 15 minutes the CPU would quickly ramp up to 100% utilized and there was nothing I could do about it, even in Safe Mode with nothing running. Eventually after many reboots and testing sessions the OS will no longer boot.My only option was to install Server 2019 again on the original C: and restore Veeam with the backed up configuration file.I did this and reattached the compellent storage through iSCSI. Both the local server storage and compellent storage were recognized by Storage Manager but they are both RAW!

I’ve been reading examples of backing up VMs and OS where the Veeam WAN accelerators are beneficial. But what about agent based backups of SQL server, Files, Exchange etc. Does it offer any benefit when used to send such backup data to offsite ?

We are already on VDRO v7.1.0.205 with built-in VBR and VeeamOne still on v12.1. When I try to do an in-place upgrade, I got the message below. I did a separate upgrade of VBR and VeeamOne on a VDRO server before and ran into issues and learned that I should update through the VDRO patch. So what would be the recommended upgrade path to update the built-ins to address https://www.veeam.com/kb4649?  

Hi everyone, just want to post this if anyone seen something like this. B&R 12.2.0.334 Enterprise Plus subscription running on Windows Server 2022 Datacenter.Target VMs run on Windows Server 2022 Datacenter Hyper-V.Backing up VMs that are on local subnet works, except couple servers that are on different subnet.c:\programdata\veeam\backup log doesn’t seem to show anything particular of interest.It’s backing up to local NAS WD PR4100.  Email notification error shows An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host, which is not mentioned in the log file.Windows firewall enabled exception all tcp/udp from both subnet. I can do these things to target servers:ping both access \\<fqdn>\c$ and \\<ip_address>\c$ add them to the infrastructure  install transport/integration services from B&RI rebooted them all, reduce concurrent tasks to 2.I just want to make sure it’s not part of my configuration, if not, then I’ll escalate it to our org’s network people.

I have a few questions concerning tape backups and marking an expired tape as free.  I have marked 2 months of tapes free, but the Postgres SQL database hasn’t reduced in size.  What other cleanup do I need to do on the Postgres side?VBR ver 12.2What happens when you mark a tape as free What happens in the postgres database Does Veeam remove all indexing data related to the backups when a tape is marked as free ? Hi Guys,I’m rolling Veeam SQL plugin out across lots of different SQL servers in my org. Is there a protection group equivalent ? If not, how does Veeam help me to keep on top of where they are installed, and more importantly auto upgrade them when Veeam is upgraded ? On top of that how do the permissions work, in terms of local admin on all SQL servers to perform the Plugin install/upgrade ?ThanksPhil

We have installed Veeam in a Standalone Hyper V host, and we can perform backups of all virtual machines in this Hyper V host. All the VMs are in drive D of the Hyper-V host.  Is there a way that I can do a backup of the C Drive of the Hyper V host so that we can restore the server and then restore the Virtual machines in case the Hyper-V Host fails? Do I need to install a Windows agent in the Hyper V host?  What is the best approach?

When we backup our outlook using VDC, the processed object mean total of our users?In this pic can i say 829 is total user backup by VDC? 

Hi all,i have currently an environment with multiple jobs in VBO365 (latest version).All regular jobs are running fine.As a fallback, we have defined a catch-all job. Under normal circumstances, there shouldn’t be an object in it…And that’s our case - if the job has nothing to backup (as it’s processed in other jobs), the state will trigger a warning message → this will create an alert in the customers Monitoring Solution. Is there any option to disable it? Or do you have some suggestions for me?Thanks and best regards, Markus    

Dear Community, We have agent-based backup configured for database backups, but our DB team has raised concerns regarding I/O Frozen occurrences while the jobs are running. Additionally, the logs are being truncated every 30 minutes. If anyone has insights or best practices to address this issue, please share your recommendations if anyone has insights or best practices to address these issue recommendations. I create a file level job backup and only need to backup .xls files like below picture But when the job is running, why my backup consume more than 300GB? Actually when i filter in the machine, all xls files under E:\ is not more than 50 GB.Capacity of my E drive is 7.4TB and now the job say is 5% progress which mean the VBR like backup all entire disk without any file filtering.Anyone know why? 

What happen if we use file level backup then we have connectivity issue and the job is failed, will in next retry the VBR continue the backup or will start from beginning?

 Hello All, Cross posting here if anyone come across similar issue or any recommendation on this We encountered an issue with the restore portal being unavailable after upgrading the VSPC console from version 8.0.0.19236 to 8.0.0.19552. We have the Web UI and Console Server roles deployed in a distributed architecture.Initially, when clicking on the File Level Restore portal, it would redirect to URL "/Connectors/VeeamAgentsSelfServicePortal" and then return to the VSPC main portal. What I found initially was that the VeeamAgentsSelfServicePortal Application Pool was missing from IIS sites, and I had to recreate the pool to resolve the page loading error. After that, I encountered an issue where the Restore portal was responding with a "Service unavailable" error.We have already tried the following:Uninstalling outdated .NET packages from the servers.Reinstalling only the latest redistributable packages from the VSPC ISO.Changing the services to run under the System account instead of
