Hi All,Currently we are using Agent managed backup jobs. When we perform the decommission of backup jobs/remove a computer/workstation from backup job/rotation, we have to keep track of the retention of deleted computer/job manually and to remove the backup copies from ‘Disk(Orphaned)’/’Disk(Imported)’ . We have also enabled the ‘Remove deleted items data after’ parameter. But still we could see some scenarios were we want to delete the backup copies manually. My expectation is Veeam to delete the backup copies automatically once it crosses the set retention (even after the job/computer is removed from backup rotation). Is there a way to achieve it?

I have found a weird issue that is pretty specific. My co-worker opened a ticket with Veeam, but eventually closed it with no solution. We found a work around so it’s not really a problem. Here is the issue. We have a VMware Horizon Agent installed on our PC’s. This allows us the abilities to remote to them, using the horizon client, UAG, MFA, etc.   Even using a BYOD. This all works great. HOWEVER, we noticed an issue that exchange restores have been bluescreening our computers lately. Multiple PC’s, different types, different accounts and so on. After a LOT of troubleshooting, we found out it only happened when the Horizon Agent was installed. We took it further, to only when the Horizon Agent is installed, and USB redirection is enabled. We disabled that feature which is our work around as we didn't need it. I was wondering if anyone uses Horizon, has an agent on their workstation, have USB redirection enabled, and recover mailbox items from exchange. We have been using Amazon S3 with immutability for years and its been working great at every restore, both in test and in production. But I must admit I have been waiting a long time for the Microsoft Azure Immutability to be in place and now with V12 it seems be at rest, at last! :) It will make it more streamlined since we can buy/subscribe the Azure Plan at our NCE/CSP-distributor at it will automatically fall under the customers name which then again will be in place on the monthylt bill. Great! But then I just started to read about Wasabi which really seems like an affordable solution, and even at much better pricing than Amazon/Azure.. How is that even possible..? With the V12 they have also appeared in the UI for the object storage and I guess they are know among the most interesting companies. I was wondering if anyone have any experience with Wasabi, and how you are comparing the offers/pricing from Azure, Amazon and Wasabi? Happy Friday everyone! I couldn’t resist making a v12 themed fun Friday considering it’s launch week! For those that have used v12 already, what’s the first feature you tried?

I am currently using Veeam B&R V11a. I also just installed Veeam One. As part of Veeam B&R, I have several windows servers which have the “Veeam agent for microsoft windows” agent installed. None of the servers  with “Veeam agent for microsoft windows” agent are showing up in Veeam One. The data collection method for Veeam One is set to “Veeam Backup Data only”, would I need to change it to a different “Data Collection” mode?

I am building new physical server running Ubuntu. System is installed on hardware RAID controller. Installed VEEAM agent, made full backup. Booted up from Linux Media (unpatched), restored all volumes and after reboot server can’t boot any more =( Any suggestions?Cheers, 

Hi guys,I am starting to set up CDP replication on Cloud Connect with Veeam 12.The source and target environments are hosted on vCD.I have installed I/O filter and configured CDP proxy on both sites.However, when I go to create a CDP policy to the cloud host/provider, I have no storage policy selectable in the destination.What is not clear to me is if and how I need to apply the VM storage policy on the VMware side .According to the official Veeam documentation (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/cloud/cloud_replication_limitations.html?ver=120#cdp) the custom storage policy for the CDP should be automatically imported from Veeam to vCD, but unfortunately it is not present in my vCD, and the one that Veeam creates by default on the vCenter is not associated with any datastore.Unfortunately, at the moment I haven't found any other references related to these configurations, and before going to make VMware-side changes I wanted to be sure about what to do.Any ideas and/or advice?Th

Hi dear Veeam community, i’m wondering if it’s possible to migrate the configuration database to a PostgreSQL DB on a Ubuntu host?Can’t find anything about that.I’ve setup the db but i’m facing an error:  The port on the ubuntu is listening, credentials are correct.Does someone have a clue?Best regards :-)

Dear All,I wanted to host Veeam M365 repository on Dell Data Domain CIIFS Share (SMB2.0).  I am completely aware that Veeam M365 doesn't support SMB2.0 and being a jet blue database, it has performance impact also.  Does anybody has some workaround wherein I can backup onto primary Veeam M365 repository and then it should move the data to either CIIFS or NFS? NOTE: Don’t recommend Veeam best practices.  Regards,Sunny

A few years ago we were a Service Provider with a Cloud Connect setup and offered our customers Cloud Connect Repositories. We then saw tjen object storage really started to take off it would be costly to maintain a datacenter with this service compared to the prices object storage was offered by the hyperscalators! We then started a partnership who ran Veeam Cloud Connect environemnt with service provider console. so we could still track and monitor our customers backupjob etc. but the backup now went to the object storages. I am just wondering, is it necessary to deploy a cloud connect environment at all to just use the service provider console for monitoring jobs, update the agents etc.? I can see in the marketplace (Azure) there is a dedicate appliance with the service provider console. Would that be enough to maintain our clients? We are now using Wasabi for repositories. I guess I am having a hard time to see what we would gain from the cloud connect environment these days? (Perh

Hi all,today I updated my Veeam Agents Free for Windows to the new version 6.x. I read about this version is no longer using SQL Express LocalDB and this is also written in the release notes. But looking in the installed software the SQL Express LocalDB is still installed.So I’m asking if SQL Express LocalDB is still needed for the Veeam Agent Free for Windows?Thank You and Kind Regeards

Hi everyone,So as you can see, I have a valid Veeam.com account and I have had it for several years now. But a few months ago, I was in the midst of some important task and logging into Veeam.com to download some software, when I was suddenly presented with a form to do… something. I can’t quite remember exactly what the purpose of it was, but Veeam wanted some additional information from me, for some reason. This included an email address, which was extra confusing since Veeam already had a valid email address for me on file. So I gave it junk data, including the email. After that though, I’m now presented with a form to verify said junk email, and I’m not allowed to access my account information until this has happened.I’m assuming I’m not the first person to have done this, since email@domain.com was already taken!At this point, I’m really just asking for forgiveness for my sin of entering junk data, in the hopes that I can have full access restored to my Veeam account.
