Hi all, last week I deployed a new storage array.  I’ve migrated all production VM’s as well as replica’s that resided on the datastores, except for CDP replica’s.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to migrate the CDP replica’s and update the CDP policy to point to the new datastores. Storage vMotion inexplicably gets cancelled by a user later on - assuming that’s VBR even though I currently have the policy disabled.  That said, I can’t modify the specified datastore below as well - all is disabled.  I thought I might clone the policy, but it looks like CDP policies can’t be cloned like backup and copy jobs - not a big deal but also caught me off-guard.So am I missing something, or do I need to recreate the policy and restart replication from scratch?  

Hello all,I’m currently testing Veeam for Salesforce. All works fine. I just don’t manage to get eMail Alerts up and running. I set the alert and the Connection Setup to Microsoft O365 with classic connection. When sending Test email I receive Error: G6HH: Notification channel configuration is invalid, please verify your settings.Trace Id: 293b541a6b68e109Can anybody help me with this error msg?ThanksRainer

if I have a backup job with GFS, and then the job is saved in a backup copy job, will the GPS backup also be taken over or do I also have to set GFS in the backup copy job?

This error happened to one of our clients. The backup chains’ status is good without any issues.VBR v12 guest file restore---happen error message is as below:Secondary GPT header LBA 209715199 exceeds the size of the disk (86401630720)Agent failed to process method {Mount.GenericMount)  I tried to change the mount server of the repository, but I still had no luck.This VM has only one virtual disk (C:) with 9

If the backup jobs fail and show an error message is “Unable to allocate processing resources. Error: Unable to find Hyper-V hosts where VM 'xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx' is registered: Failed to connect to Hyper-V Integration Service on host, port 6163”. I tried to review the settings, and all of them look fine, but the backup jobs failed always. I have run into these issues sometimes, it’s easy to solve, you just need to reboot the Veeam management server or restart the Veeam services of the Veeam management server.

Hi Everyone,I thought I would first of explain what inspired me to write this on a nice September morning. It was a dumb decision. I have made many dumb decisions in my life and sometimes, just for fun I repeat them. In this case it was agreeing to a dentist appointment at 7 am on a Friday morning. This all came about around the time of VeeamON. Some of you noticed there were times at VeeamON in Miami when I was walking around with a not so jolly expression on my face. The reason for this was because I was stuck in between benefits providers (read dental insurance) and precisely at that time one of my remaining wisdom teeth decided to cause Armageddon. I tried keeping Listerine in my mouth for long periods at a time, then going to the beach and holding salt water in my mouth as I read it has healing powers (although this caused some fellow beach dwellers to give me strange looks). I wanted to share a couple Veeam errors I experienced on my Replication (DR-side) server after I replaced server hardware. Not sure if anyone has experienced either of these errors, but they were quite frustrating to work through. Let me know if you had a similar experience/occurrence and what you did to resolve it. Maybe what I share here will help someone.As I was replacing hardware in my DR side vSphere Clusters, on my VBR server, I would perform a vCenter rescan to make sure VBR would see the new Hosts and my Replication jobs would run successfully. Because all the tasks involved with replacing h/w is time-consuming, I was only doing 3-4 Hosts a day (took 3 days for 10 Hosts), so I had to do this rescan several times. I think I only verified 1 or 2 jobs out of around 12 I have, but they run good. On the 2nd day, I noticed 1 of my jobs failed. The error shown was below:

Hi all, we have a physical server DL380 Gen10 with ubuntu LTS that use for Veeam immutable backup. we want to expand the existing repository RAID with anther 9 disks.do we need to break the existing RAID or it’s possible in ubuntu to expand the existing without break?Thanks

I was doing a production backup chains upgrade, and we saw an alert for Microsoft Defender Cloud.It was because the blobs were being rescanned and upgraded by Veeam during the backup chains upgrade.   All was fine.  It's just a triggered alert that could be documented internally as nothing to worry about.  

That was not happening only at VM with the secure boot in the Hyper-V environment. It also impacts VMware.After installing this update on guest virtual machines (VMs) running Windows Server 2022 on some versions of VMware ESXi, Windows Server 2022 might not start up. Only Windows Server 2022 VMs with Secure Boot enabled are affected by this issue. Affected versions of VMware ESXi are versions vSphere ESXi 7.0.x and below.We may ask customers to put them on hold to install the October patch for Windows Server 2022.

Hello,I'm facing a challenging situation with our Veeam server and vCenter, and I'm seeking assistance to resolve this issue. Here's the scenario:Our Veeam server is not part of our domain.Our domain computers are signed with our Domain Controller (DC) as their root certificate.The vCenter is  not part of the domain.However, the vCenter certificate is assigned by our DC, which acts as the root certificate authority.The primary issue arises when attempting to update the vCenter. I encounter an error, and I've attached a screenshot for reference.Furthermore, it's worth noting that our Veeam server is also not a member of the domain. We are utilizing Veeam Enterprise Manager.I am seeking guidance on how to resolve this matter. What steps or configurations should I consider to ensure a smooth update process for our vCenter and resolve the certificate-related errors?Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated. I’m running Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 6.0.2.1090 - Free Edition on my Windows 11 PC and I’ve never come across this issue so far:Open Control Panel Run restore Individual Files Select a backup date browse the backup and select a specific file the file is shown in its current state, not in the state at the time when the backup was run. Even non-existing files at backup time, created after the backup was taken, are shown in the backup treeIs it a bug? Am I supposed to set some configuration parameter?I used to navigate the backup tree and select individual files to restore specific files in their state at the time the backup was run.Thank you in advance  Vieri

 Home Lab upgrade!Hi Folks, recently I wanted to «upgrade» my home lab, and I was thinking the best way to have an affordable, low consumption usable home lab for a ESXi Cluster, nothing fancy, just to be able to deploy a couple of little VMS, play with HA, DRS, shared storage and so on.I started checking out the Intel NUCs, but then I realized that it comes «empty», so it becomes costly at the end.Then, what about HPE Gen 8-9 Servers, «the wife would kill me»They are noisy, expensive and consumes tons of electricity!So, looking over the hardware I have, I looked into my Workstation, a Lenovo P320 which it has 64GB of ram, more than sufficient to run a Nested lab, but I wanted something more realistic, with wires and lights, you know, Im a hardware and wires lover!I kept the Workstation as base Server, Planning tu run there the base or foundational vms I normally run like: vCenter, DNS, AD, a Storage Appliance and a Veeam Server.

Recently I had to troubleshoot a Veeam Backup & Replication (B&R) problem. There the question popped up which are the running Veeam jobs at point or period of time. The GUI is not a big help to answer this question. Therefore I wrote a small script that show these jobs.The following PowerShell script snippet is quite simple. If it happened Error 1327.Invalid Drive when you try to upgrade the Veeam server, don’t panic. This is likely caused by a stale registry entry for the Veeam server. In my case, the Veeam server had an F drive but removed it a long time ago. My error message is Error 1327.Invalid Drive F: and the upgrade failed.1.login to the Veeam management server.2.Run regedit.3.check the following registry path on the Veeam server. I have a customer on Veeam v12 which backs up to Data domain. Veeam performs a copy job to another mtree, then the DD performs a DD replication to a central immutable DD.Customer has space issues but we are seeing old veeam backup files still on the DD. We did a delete from disk for an old backup, but the file is still on the DD.Any recommendations or seen this sort of behaviour?I’m questioning whether Veeam is cleaning up old data. Backup copy retention is only 5 days.
