The setup is as followsPhysical server Windows 2022 with OS drive (mirrored 500GB) and DATA drive (RAID6 22TB), this server is domain joined and will contain a Windows file share for the site users on the 22TB drive.  The NTFS permissions setup is vital and will use Active Directory Groups.  The current size of shared data is 4TB.Veeam B&R Ver11 server (community) is not domain joined, has about 45TB of SAS attached storageThree backup choices for physical server Backup job, File Share,  Files and Folders, choose the site share to backup nightly, keep all file versions for 12 months My other thought was doing a Backup job, Windows Computer, Server, Entire Computer, Retention policy (only has days) not sure about this as I want more retention but understand the 7 days is about “whole computer” restore, whereas my retention needs are for the share data Go to the physical Windows 2022 server and install the Veeam Windows Agent to get a bare metal restore backup setup and have it be ma

Can anyone tell the difference between Static IP mapping and IP masquerading? Both are trying to access VM in virtual lab, so what is the difference?

Is there a way for teams to automatically remove objects from backups, i.e. team objeckts that could not be found anymore, but also to automatically include objects, with a certain prefix, in backups? Thanks so far!

Hello everyone…Veeam with HPE Storeonce.. i have Veeam enterprise installed on ESXi as a VM,,, and i have multiple ESXi hosts that connected to SAN Storage…. via SAN switches… my question is how can connect the Veeam to HPE Storeonce over FC connection,, in case it is not possible i need to know which the best scenario to connect them to take a VM backups from VMware… Thanks a lot..

Good day, I am new to veeam and just installed veeam backup and replication 11.0.1.1261. when i connect to the server i am getting the error which reads “Failed to connect to Veeam Backup & Replication server: Remoting Channel Sink UriNotPublished. hione of my client facing a problem. when they run full backup in veeam VVR all application and Network is down automatically. any idea why this happen and any information can have in Veeam ONE why this happen ?

Hi Everybody, one of my client facing problem in Veeam Repository. so that they create a new repository and manually copy all data in new repo. Now they want to start incremental backup from new repo. is it possible ? any body know about this ?

i have on going PoC for Veeam VBR. customer want to take a Physical Machine back up(Dell Server) and want to restore it in another physical server(HPE server). is it possible or not.

I’ve created 5 Jobs in Veeam Community edition, V11.I can only seem to get 2 jobs running at the same time, with all other jobs reporting:"Waiting for backup infrastructure resources availability" SetupWe have 3x Physical servers/Hyper-V hosts, across 2 Physical Sites linked via a IP-Sec Site to Site VPN over NBN 100/40 Connections.ALL Backup/replication data between the servers below travels on secondary network cards on a secondary network to the main/users network.Note: Had been using Hyper-V’s built in replication until now deciding to switch to Veeam.Hyper-V-01 (Site-A) Hyper-V-02 (Site-A) Hyper-V-03 (Site-B)Veeam Host:Veeam is running on a VM: Srv-Utility-01 running on Hyper-V-01We have one Backup NAS, Synology attached to Srv-Utility-01 via iSCSI mounted as D:Veeam Jobs:3x Hyper-V ReplicationsReplicating 4x VM’s over the WAN to off-site Hyper-V server (Hyper-V-01 to Hyper-V-03) Replicating 1x VM’s over the WAN to off-site Hyper-V server (Hyper-V-02 to Hyper-V-01) Replicating 1x

While backing up SQL workloads, the job returned an error saying “Unable to truncate Microsoft SQL Server transaction logs. Details: Failed to process 'TruncateSQLLog' command. Failed to truncate SQL server transaction logs for instances:  . See guest helper log. .” what could be the reason for this?In the sql settings, I enabled “backups logs periodically” and specified retention period. does these settings have something to do with the error?

I performed a backup with exchange workload, but the job returned with a “nothing to process” error.what could be the reason for this?

Hello folks, I got a question for you.I inherited an ESXi-based structure with vCenter and backupped via Veeam Backup and Replication 9.5.4.2866.Without deleting the job and redoing a new one (the size of the vm is very consistent), is there a way to understand if when the job was created choosing vcenter and not directly VMs?My fear is that if the job was created by choosing the vcenter, if it goes down I can't restore the structure. And I have no experience about it.

Hey guys, I have another query. If I create a backup let’s say full backup on Monday, retention policy is 7 days and synthetic backup on saturday. On saturday once the full backup is created, will the previous backups merge to this full backup and get deleted once retention policy is expired ?Another question: consider the 1st question scenario in the backup settings, now if a customer deletes a backup on tuesday and reports this 20 days later, can he use the synthetic backups to recover the data?

Hey guys, I have a query. If you can see the attached screenshot, if I want to store the backup in secondary destination, will the backup run on both the primary and secondary destination simultaneously on the scheduled time?

Hey community, I want to use VBR 11a and VeeamPluginforSAPHANA to backup my SAP HANA database.Howerver, the test result is not ideal, Processing rate is only 1M/s.In my environment, the bandwidth between the VBR server and the HANA server is 10Gbps, and I have tested it with iperf3, everything is OK. and when I use VBR to backup VMs and NAS, everything is OK too. I also tried to set up different repositories using SapBackintConfigTool, but it doesn't work. What could be the reason? tks.

If the source VMs have virus/infected, technically Veeam can backup that but can Veeam knows that the source is infected with virus/ransomware?

Hey everyone. Can anyone give a reason on why immutability is setup for linux and amazon cloud storage and not for windows and other cloud storage like azure, GCP?

Following on from the excellent advice on what kind of storage server (and direct attached storage within) to use for a hardened Linux repository, may I push my luck to ask for some more advise or where to go next. Presuming I can get my hands on a suitable storage server and storage (as recommended) could anyone shed some light on how we’d need to set this up so that Veeam is able to back up the data on our Infortrend SAN. Here’s some further details of our config. We have a Windows server in our (remote) data centre that is running Veeam B&R v11. It is currently just making some physical backups of critical Windows and Linux hosts. These hosts are physically located in our office and there is a decent enough secure connection to make these backups over the line to the Veeam server in the data centre. However, I want to expand our use of Veeam to make regular backups of the TB’s of data on our Infortrend SAN which is also based in our office and this is where my lack of experience/k

Hi, We have a lot of backup copy jobs (but far from all) that fails with the error “Failed to dispatch repository file session resource requst. Requested amount of file session (193) is greater than the maximum amount available (192).According to HPE Veeam should know that this StoreOnce has a internal limit of 192 datastreams and should not try to open number 193.  Anyone with a idea of how to fix this?
