I want to revisit a discussion I’ve had before about the best DNS configuration for Veeam Cloud Connect.What is common is that there is a common DNS name given to the customers for which multiple A records are created. This provides the round robin load balancing for the cloud gateways.I’ve heard two ways of creating the DNS records for the gateways.A records for each gateway CNAME pointing back to the common DNS nameI know I had seen some documentation supporting the CNAME option before but I can’t seem to find it now.I’m asking this in context of pushing out VSPC Agents. I’m not sure I fully understand how the Agents communicates back to the VSPC and connects the Agent Backups or VBR to the service provider. I am seeing in some instances that it adds a service provider to the VBR but using one of the gateway DNS entries and not the common DNS entry.
Bonjour,Je viens d’installer et de découvrir Veeam Backup pour Office365, j’ai paramétré un JOB pour sauvegarder uniquement l’organisation SHAREPOINT sur un disque dur Externe mais très souvent et voir tout le temps maintenant j’ai l’erreur “JetError -1022, JET_errDiskIO, Disk IO error” cette erreur est parlante mais j’ai déjà remplacé le disque a plusieurs reprise et il fonctionne très bien sur cette même machine avec un VEEAM AGENT. Avez vous une piste a me donner ?
Title says it all Got a customer who advises they are running Windows dedupe on the local OS, and I can see the backup copy job is getting really poor compression on the VM. Hello all, I have been looking in the forum but I have not found information. In my job we are using Nutanix objects, one of the buckets shows 450 TB of usage space on Nutanix, but when I review on veeam the backup software it only shows 90 TB. Is there an issue with this space not being reclaimed?, on a previous post, I found ReFS takes some time to free up space and show the proper amount.I hope you can shed some light on.
We have an onpremise Veeam server that runs the following jobs:1. Backup to local storage (weekly full, daily incrementals)2. Copy job to Linux hardened repository (immutable)3. Copy job to Azure Blob cool storage (immutable)Now i would like to have the Azure monthly backups moved to archive tier. I'm assuming i have to use SOBR for this. The following question arise:i create a second immutable repository with longer immutability, say 1 year. After moving the full backup, will it calculate ‘initial backup date + 1 year’, or ‘SOBR copy date + 1 year’? do i need a new container for this or can i just create a folder within a container? if a backup is still immutable can it be moved to the archive tier? copying backups obviously generates a large amount of traffic. Download backup from one repository, upload to another. Is there something i can do to limit the amount of traffic and costs? what's the risk here? hi, I would like to know that, can we directly restore to on-prem from S3 glacier (archiving tier) using SOBR ?
Hopefully someone with experience can help me with this. I'm struggling to understand the SOBR in combination with GFS, and if what i want is possible within Veeam.What i would like is the following:Backup job to local storage attached to backup server. Copy result to tapeThis i can manage. Now...Copy result to SOBR containing: Performance tier: local repo immutable, store recent 4 weeks Capacity tier: Azure S3 hot immutable, store recent 4 weeks (copy instant checkmark) Archive tier: Backblaze S3 immutable, store month and year backupsI'm trying to save cost here, so what i don't want is for Veeam to send the files from Azure S3 to Backblaze S3, since this will result in read and egress costs. What happens on the last week of the month? Will Veeam SOBR copy from performance tier (thus local to Backblaze (ingress)), or will it copy from capacity tier?Or should i use plain copy jobs with GFS?

I’m trying to add two Physical Computers (Linux 20.04) into inventory to backup.Both are in the same protection group.When adding the servers and clicking “Test Now” the test is successful.After applying the Protection Group changes, I briefly see both servers, then one always disappears.It seems random as to which server remains. I see different fingerprints for each server.I’ve tried using separate protection groups, but the issue is the same. I initially added the computers as part of a backup job creation, but when adding the second server and job, the job always failed. We have uninstalled the agent from both servers, and repeated the process, always with the same result.Veeam Enterprise Plus 11All the other backed up servers are VM’s.Any suggestions?
Good morning guys,I recently noticed that some of our M365 backup jobs (various tenants and various backup VMs) always complete with warnings. We are having this problem for about a week or so. The messages always look like this:Failed to backup item: /personal/testuser_testdomain_com/Documents/Todo.one, Download request retry timeout exceeded. I have a proposal out for a client that want to put their Sage 100/RDS server in Azure and get rid of all on-premise compute. (We’re also migrating their Exchange server to M365).I have proposed a new server, and had planned on backing it up using our VCSP rental licensing and putting an appliance in their Azure to facilitate backups to Blob storage on their account. However, it just dawned on me that I could probably just facilitate backups from Veeam Agent for Windows from this single VM to Blob instead. What would be the preferred/recommended method and are there any special caveats for either that you can think of? I very much live in the on-premise world right now, so it’s all new to me.
I’m trying to set up Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 on my regular BDR server and Veeam Backup system. The configuration seems to insist that I provide some Microsoft “organization” info. Am I misunderstanding this?For starters, this is a Community setup, and I normally use a Microsoft 365 Family subscription. That has no Organization ID or organization domain name. And it does not use, or give any access to, Azure AAD/Entra. Yet no one at Veeam seems to think that’s a problem…? Not sure they get it.Just as it happens, I do have a Microsoft Organization account, but it’s totally, completely separate from the Microsoft 365 Family subscription. I definitely have a lot of OneDrive data stored there that I want to back up, as well as Exchange data.
