Hello @chris392 ,You want to backup periodicly the SQL transactions logs ?For me it’s currently not possible except if you install a Veeam Agent for Windows on the VM.Enable application-aware processing ensure that the applications will be able to recover successfully, without data loss, but you cant choose the application, by default Veeam does not process application logs and creates a crash-consistent backup of VMs with applications that use transaction logs for operations. You can create a transactionally consistent backup - in this case Veeam Backup & Replication will process application logs.

Pre-v12 periodic copy jobs are not compatible with the new v12 backup copy job format. A new job must be created and the old backup chain must be mapped to the new job. Without a FastClone supported repository, you must have the space to store the entire full backup. Can you not just update the backup chain for the job in the console with v12? Thought you could do this and it will upgrade the per VM chain for you? Only for immediate backup copy jobs with Per-machine backup files. Best, Fabian Thank for the confirmation :)

Hey,I see that I'm not the only one missing this functionality. We'll need to rethink the initial job configuration. It's a shame because it loses some flexibility, especially for direct S3 storage usage.I ll take a look to the “Move backup”feature :)

HelloFrom the Veeam server, can you connect to the hyper-v server using \\<FQDN>\admin$ and \\<IPAddressofHyper-VHost>\admin$ I met this problem , it was cause by the UAC. Have you disabled it in the register base ? Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Policies > System Double click on EnableLUA, verify if value is 0; if not, change it to 0. Restart computer.
Hey a quick update Unfortunately, Sophos is not one of the officially supported AV solutions. And Veeam support does not provide support for the configuration of this product.

Merci Cordialement, You could do this, but it is not advisable to have a backup chain that long as it can cause too many problems. The max here should be 30 days and then use GFS for the other restore points. It is best practice as per Veeam. It will work but you may run in to issues if a backup fails and the chain gets corrupted. Comme mentionné par @Chris.Childerhose ce n’est pas forcement recommandé d’appliquer ce type de paramétrage.A minima je recommande d’effectuer des sauvegarde active full ou synthetic full 1 fois par semaine pour ne pas avoir une chaine en mode forever incremental.https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/backup_methods.html?ver=120 Prévoir également l’espace suffisant sur votre repository.

Je viens d'installer veeam backup and Replication , et j'aimerais savoir comment configurer celui-ci afin de garder toutes les sauvegardes journalière (comme le fait windows backup). Unfortunately the antivirus is detected but for me nothing is scanned, it’s too fast. I change the setting to use Windows Defender, the scan took almost 1hourDifference with SophosI tried with different parameters with and witout a backslash after the %Path%, but always the same result. I ll try to open a support case :)

Yes I was looking to this example as support.I changed the isportablesoftware to true and now Veeam detect my antivirus. but the scan is pretty fast I m not sure about what is he doing 😂, I ll try with the same setting from the forum post

Hey guysnew feedback from veeam support:“I have been investigating this type of issue internally and it seems like the same behavior has been reported a a couple of times and this type of issue is still under research in order to find out if this is some fault on VBR side. What I would like to advise as a suggestions is to try and regenerate the Veeam self signed certificate as per the procedure described at the following page of the user guide - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/self_signed_tls.html?ver=120 After re-generating it run the jobs normally and let us know if the same issue appears.”So the problem is still under investigation. I didn’t try to reset the certificate yet.

I created a support Case the first feedback was to check if any firewall rules could be block the traffic, but my servers are in the same vLan.I just asked to have an update on my case. I didn't notice any latency but I never launch a lot simultaneous jobs
Yep you should design your backup infrastructure to be secure by design (Veeam Servers should not be in production Domain, apply the 3-2-1 backup rule, apply hardening etc...)Your backups are your last defense in case of a disaster.
You can lost your datas with a disaster like hardware failure,fire or by an cyber attack, your datas could be encrypt by a ransomware, you will have your datas but they ll be unreadable.The only solution to find back your production it’s to have a disaster recovery plan.
