ESXi VMs not recognized in Veeam after async DR failback

Hello Everyone,Someone asked this question in Nutanix Forum:“We are running asynchronous Protection Domains and also employee Veeam backups of VMs. If we failover to the secondary site and then failback to the primary site, Veeam no longer recognizes the VMs in previously created backup jobs. We have to delete all the old backup jobs and set them up again. This is with ESXi hosts. Is that normal?”Didi anyone face this issue before and how to fix it?

VEM Failed to open session / improvement needed ?

Hello, I am facing a connection problem between my VBR and my VEM.I applied a hardening since the connection with the local administrator account (built-in) is impossible I cannot find what could be blocking it, still investigate.MFA was enabled in VBR, so I had to create an entry for my built-in administrator account as a service account with Veeam administrator privilege.Unfortunately the session failed to openThe connection with another service account with admin privilege works..Any idea? The account must be assigned the Veeam Backup Administrator role. In term of security I’m not a big fan cause I have an account with admin right without MFA. How do you configure VEM on your side?

Drive for Office365 Backups

We’re using Veeam as a backup to Office365. Our old-school owner wants to backup on-prem and periodically take a snapshot of the DB and bring it home. We also are a small shop and don’t have a dedicated NAS. What we do have is a compact i7 with plenty of RAM and a USB 3.0 port.We put a 1T PNY flash drive on it and it worked for about a month. Then we started getting JetDB errors. We put in a ticket and have been going back-and-forth with support (they have been responding nicely and it’s appreciated.)We’ve tried several solutions, seemed to be making progress but after the last iteration, they think it’s the drive. I asked for a recommendation for a good set of specs but they couldn’t give me one.Is anyone out there using a Flash drive as their primary repo store? If so, can you tell me what brand/model you’re using? Thanks in advance! Scott.

Veeam Agent for Windows local copy and cloud

For a hardware server (no vmware) I use the Agent for Windows and backup to a local NAS. I added a cloud backup job to Wasabi which works but I noticed it disabled the schedule to the local NAS. I turned it back on and made sure the times do not overlap. Is that the only way to have a local and cloud copy with the Agent, two separate jobs? I like local for speed when restoring, cloud is only in case of disaster...

DRO Best Practices?

We’re preparing to implement DRO in our org and I have a few best practices questions that maybe someone here could answer:Physical or VM? Is it possible to site DRO on the same server as Enterprise Manager? Should be at the DR site, right?I’m sure I’ll have more questions come up as I read through the official Veeam docs and start poking around at a test implementation. Thanks!

Resrever port ranges on Cloud Connect and VSPC server for communications

Hi Team,The question is based on the article Veeam Service Provider Console 8.0 Deployment Guide’ ( Veeam Service Provider Console 8.0 (https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vac/deployment/ports.html?ver=80). Communications from Veeam Service Provider Console Server to Veeam Cloud Connect server the on TCP port range 49152 to 65535. As per a Veeam support team person, they mentioned that, it is better to open around 50-100 ports to facilitate potential requests between the servers.Just wondering the best method to assign the ports through the firewall. Tried using the ‘netstat -aon’ to identify any listening state ports. To facilitate the connection from VSPC server to VCC server, simply can create an outbound rule on the VSPC server firewall for the specified port range (49152 - 65535) and an inbound firewall rule on the VCC server for the same port range.However, not sure whether this is the best method to achieve the task in a production environment since, opening ports on a server unn

Backup Job - Statistics

Hello, I wanted to be sure that fast clone is enabled but I can’t see it anywhere.As I remember on v11 it was written in the “Action” description.I’m using Synology NAS connected directly via iSCSI to the Windows Server 2022.It’s formatted as ReFS (64KB).You can see that it was a Synthetic Full but FastClone nowhere to be seen.

Issues replying to topics in the Community Hub

Curious if anyone else is running into issues when replying in the hub. I tend to get a lot of emails to catch up on topics and open tabs for them and then come back. However, there’s a been a lot lately where I open a tab, come back to it 15-30 minutes later, reply, but when I go to post my reply I get the below error. Usually refreshing the tab and then posting works, but in the meantime, I’ve lost what I typed. Curious if anyone else has been running into this issue as of late. Seems like the past week or so I’ve been having this issue.

DB2 Plugin Available Methods Or Commands

We are beginning implementation of the DB2 plugin in v12.1. Looking at the documentation online, we see commands and examples for backing up and restoring backups, but you have to know the date/timestamp for the file to restore. There is no command to list available backup files using the plugin that is documented online (that I can find, anyway). However, a helpful engineer that we consulted with during pre-buy provided us with a command to list the available backups using the agent (db2 list history backup all for <db name>).Now I’m wondering why that isn’t documented online, and if there is a document somewhere that lists all of the commands or methods possible with the DB2 plugin.Does anyone know where we can get that documentation?

License expires soon - how do I sign up as link to page broken?

Hi,We have just taken a trial of Veeam for AWS backup. It expires on the 11th of Sept so we want to get a licence for this product. But when we go to the ‘Production licences’ link in the menu the page is not available.eg. Page not found. Sorry, the page you were looking for doesn't exist, was removed or the URL you are using is not correct. Ekco Cloud connect Issue

HI Community, I am currently using Veaam v12 B&R community edition.I have tried to add a service provider for ekco.I have followed steps from https://www.ek.co/publications/using-veeam-cloud-connect/Once I add veeam.cloudhelix.io and the username and password I get the below error.Is the issue down to the fact I am on community edition V12 or is it an issue from ekco’s side?(I have already logged a ticket with ekco support to see what their response will be)
