It seems that every VBR update requires to download the whole VBR software of over 4GB ?Then it is an ISO, but what I usually do is mount the ISO then copy out to like c:\VBR_12.227 (example of the version) then run the update from the folder. But is there also a smoother update process as I have to update the Veeam Enterprise Manager, then the VBR server itself and then probably need to like rescan the vCenter, edit WAN accelerator, edit Veeam Virtual Labs, edit storage repositories, edit the unstructured data file shares etc then it would start to update the individual items when I click finish.
Does anyone have a blog/step-by-step guide for setting up VSPC with SSO Azure AD?
I encountered the issue several times i restored the entire VM / Instant recovery to GCP after choosing the option to restore to its original location with the original setting after completing this procedure I noticed that the VM IP had been changed.

I get the error Failed to connect to Veeam backup and Replication Server: object ... has been disconnected or does not exist at the the server. This is happening when trying to connect to the Veeam Console on the localhost.I have to reboot the server to resolve this issue, the server then seems to run OK but then later when the daily replication jobs (2) are run, the server seems to stop responding sometime during the 2nd replication job.Any suggestions on how to resolve this.
We need to install the Veeam agent on 2,000 devices within the organization, but centralized file restoration to multiple devices simultaneously is required. Currently, the Veeam Backup & Replication solution does not have this functionality, and it is needed to reduce restoration times for user operations to ensure business continuity in case of ransomware or disaster.

The company I work for is looking to improve its BCDR capabilities utilising Veeam and Azure. Currently in a DC we have VBR (physical server with local storage repo) copying to Azure blob storage and Enterprise Manager on a vm. We are aiming to change the Veeam license to include VRO with the idea of being able to stand up VMs in Azure in the event of the DC going down. My questions are about the placement of the various components. Do we need a second VBR server in Azure? Should the Enterprise manager be shifted to Azure? Would it be best to build the VRO server in Azure? Also where does ONE fit into this? We are talking to an MSP about getting this set up but wanted some advice from the expert community to put my mind at ease. Thanks!
Hi everyone,This is my situation: i configured a backup job on Veeam 12 on rdx drives; i ve got 3 drives (4TB each) and the total size of vms backup is around 1,6 TB; drives are changed daily. My goal is to make an incremental backup, veeam perform each day a full backup tough. So the third day the drives is put in the rdx reader veeam gives me error because the storage is full.In repository settings i marked the rotated drives options. If i set the retention policy to 2 days nothing changes (because veeam policy always keep at least 3 restore points i guess).I tried also reversed incremental with no result. Is there any chance to manage an incremental backup on rotated drives in my situation? The best option would be to have in each drives a full backup + x incremental file, at worst i may configure a pre-job script to manually prune one of the two full backup on the drive. Good day all,Hostnames and IPs are ficticious, just to protect my environmentCase:N.B. Primary veeam server was off during the config restoration. Both servers can resolve hostnames to IP, full communication between sites/on WAN, same domain as well.I used (Site1) primary veeam server “veeamserver1” backed up .bco file and restored it to (site 2) secondary veeam server. “veeamserver2” After restoration on veeamserver2, RED X came up on both hosts and repositories. On veeamserver 2, I did a rescan on on hosts and i got error(all hosts) for below:-Error - [Serverhost1] Disks and volumes discovery failed Error: Access is denied. RPC function call failed. Function name: [GetSvcVersion]. Target machine: [192.168.40.30:6160].-Host discovery failed For the local repositories rescan i got error below: -Error Processing backup repositories Error: Selected server Veeamserver2.JPOL.LOCAL is unavailable.-Warning Failed to synchronize Site1Repo Details: Selected server Veeamserver2.JPOL.LOCAL

Hi all,I’m currently running Ubuntu 20.04.6 in a Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V VM. Veeam B&R CE 12 is installed on the VM host, which is scheduled to backup the VM every so often. I’ve been struggling for quite awhile now trying to troubleshoot some instability in the VM. It appears that applications start crashing following a Veeam backup opeartion on the VM. Multiple different applications will seg fault, including systemd. In doing this troubleshooting, while watching journalctl, I see several I/O related errors scroll by during a Veeam backup:Oct 16 16:12:43 ubuntush multipathd[600]: sdc: path already removedOct 16 16:12:42 ubuntush multipathd[600]: uevent trigger errorOct 16 16:12:20 ubuntush multipath[16675]: sdc: can't store path infoOct 16 16:12:19 ubuntush kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: [sdc] Attached SCSI diskOct 16 16:12:19 ubuntush kernel: sdc: detected capacity change from 167772160 to 0Oct 16 16:12:19 ubuntush kernel: sd 0:0:1:0: [sdc] 4096-byte physical blocksOct 16 16:12:19 ubuntush
Hi All,Occasionally there are a few Windows replica VMs that come up 169.x on NIC 0 during boot. They are VCD enabled replicas. We are using VLAN direct mapping without NSX in this case. Job network mappings are set and functional. 95% of them boot as they should. The few that come up with an APIPPA address will obtain the correct IP *if* I go to the NIC config in VCD for the VM and disable NIC 0, add NIC 1 and set to static pool along with the VLAN. (connected, primary). This has been tested as repeatable across reboots once it’s been changed in VCD. I took a look at the VMX and the Veeam statements look correct as far as I can tell. PCI ID also matches. This doesn’t seem to be limited to a single VCD Org. Troubleshooting I’ve tried so far, Update VM tools to the latest. Review device manager for ghosted adapters. Add a second NIC (works)I’m wondering if anyone else has bumped into this and what the findings were if so. TIA
Hello,I am trying to do a bare metal recovery of a physical windows server 2019.First, I have created a recovery media from the agent backup, then mounted that .iso on the Dell Idrac9 and tried to boot form virtual CD/DVD/ISO, but it’s getting stuck at the windows logo screen.I have also tried to boot from the same iso on a VM just to test. This time, it worked, the veeam console came up and I got all the options for restoration. But on the physical server, it’s not working. Please let me know where I am going wrong. I have attached the screenshot of the stuck screen. Thank you.

Since a few weeks, my backup of my Windows disk (that used to work seamlessly) fails with:Error: Shared memory connection was closed. Failed to upload disk. I want to ask that anyone has tested that Veeam Backup and Replication Software Version 12 Supports IBM Spectrum Scale GPFS File system ?If any one has tested it on this version, guide me please.
I have a customer who is using Veeam to migrate some VMs from one Vcenter environment to another. He has set up two virtual proxies, one on the source Vcenter and a second on the Destination Vcenter. Each Proxy VM has 24GB of RAM and 16 vCPU’s. He has set Max concurrent tasks to 20 on both proxies and has a green check mark on that. He set up a job with multiple VM’s with each VM having 2 disks. The job is only processing a max of 4 VM’s at at time. I am thinking it should be able to do at least 10 VM’s (10 x 2 disks = 20 concurrent tasks). Do VM replication jobs use more concurrent tasks than a single task per disk?
Being new to VEEAM, I might be troubleshooting problem that's trivial for VEEAM experts. On Veeam 12.2 and vCenter 8.0.3, my problem is ESXi hosts having multiple networks which causes Veeam's confusion. There's management network and there's vMotion network. The hosts in vCenter are defined as follows:The problem is, Veeam isn't able to back up a single VM. The log is full of these errors:22.10.2024 11:17:51.481] < 1436> vdl | [vddk] CnxOpenTCPSocket: Cannot connect to server 172.16.0.13:902: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond[22.10.2024 11:17:51.481] < 1436> vdl | [vddk] CnxAuthdConnect: Returning false because CnxAuthdConnectTCP failed[22.10.2024 11:17:51.481] < 1436> vdl | [vddk] CnxConnectAuthd: Returning false because CnxAuthdConnect failed[22.10.2024 11:17:51.481] < 1436> vdl | [vddk] Cn

Hello guys,I need your help to find the best way to configure longterm retention for a NAS backup.Job selection different folders (Around 10TB of datas)Target Repository : ReFSCurrent retention keep all version for the last : 30 days No Archive Secondary Repository : Dell DataDomain, same retention as sourceMy customer want a bigger retention like 6 months or more.I looking the best way to do this with the less impact on the repository space. Unfortunately we can’t create GFS point for NAS BackupSolution 1 : Set the primary retention to 6 month or more, impact I will have an increment every day for the time periodSolution 2: Create a second job with the same selection but schedule it once a month, impact I ll have two full backups and I have no idea if it could work porperly.I take every idea 😁I forgot ! We currently export this backup to tape once a week too, so we could keep certain tapes as a monthly but the process to restore take a lot of time, tape management … you know
