Hi, I have installed Veeam B&R v11 on a windows machine running a 5 Hyper-V vm. I have registered my Hyper-V using backup infrastructure > Add server. It now shows up in backup infrastructure > managed servers > microsoft Hyper-V > Standalone servers. I have created a backup repository on a NAS on the local network. But when I want to create a backup job (home > backup job > Virtual Machine), I have no VM listed. Any advices on what I’m missing to be able to backup my VM?  

Hi, I have configured a backup job on all Teams and on first run, i am alerted the mailbox is already being protected by another job. 11-12-2020 11:04:59 :: Processing mailbox XXX completed with warning: Mailbox is already processed by another job This is correct, as i have a backup job doing backup of all mailboxes every 4 hours. What is best pracgtice? To do complete Teams backup including the mailbox in one job, and on another job do all my mailboxes and exclude the Teams mailboxes? As of now where i have the Teams mailbox backup done by another job, how would a Team site restore be done?  RegardsRobert

Hi,I would like to offload Archives to AWS Glacier. I added a AWS Glacier Repository to an sobr as archive exent. Once offloading starts I get the following error messages.I thing that the gateway server is not able to connect by ssh to the ec2 proxy appliance? Are these Appliances deployed in advance, or just temporary during archive offloading job? It is a new deploy, we didnt use these feature. 01:42:55    Failed to provision a proxy appliance: Unable to connect by SSH to appliance.     04:3201:47:28    Queued for processing at 28.04.2021 01:47:28     01:47:33    Task failed. Veeam ISOs and updates are all behind a login portal, how do you all handle downloading patches and fresh installations for customer environments? Some customers don’t wish to supply email addresses for Veeam accounts or they’ve registered it to an IT contact’s email address and so again, due to the integrations between the download portal and Veeam R&D forums (and even here at the Veeam Community) it’s providing access to far more than necessary for a download. The alternative is using our ProPartner accounts for downloading these files but then the question becomes, can we trust the customer’s network? In the age of zero trust that doesn’t seem wise. Finally with all the remote working requirements it feels excessive to be downloading files from Veeam to my own machine and then upload to the client device. Hi Folks, I have had a love/hate relationship with SOBRs. I am hoping I will be more on the love side going forward with the ability in V11 cloud connect to evacuate individual Tenants from a SOBR. I am finding that it is best to keep the number of extents down to low numbers, maybe even just 3. Also if using VMs, then one VM per extent otherwise your cpu and memory resources get divided by each extent. Keeping in mind that each concurrent task requires 1 core and 4gb of memory you don’t want this divided. Also if leveraging fast clone both on REFS and XFS you need even more memory.  What has been your experience with SOBRs?, especially for cloud connect?

Hi,We are having some backups copied to an AWS bucket using Veeam Backup and Replication 11. The backups have been copying up to the bucket okay but today I was going to practice restorations and am a little confused about whether I did a restore from the internet or from the performance tier. The log said the restore was from AWS Veeam Object1 which should be the Amazon server. It seemed kind of quick. I was expecting it to take hours for a small server. It was 34 minutes. Maybe de-duplication is really good.This was in the log:Restoring Hard disk 1 (40 GB) : 30.3 GB restored at 18 MB/s  [nbd] 3.9 GB downloaded from capacity tier, 9.9 GB copied from performance tierSo far I haven’t seen any documentation that specifically walks us through restoration from a bucket.It’s possible I’m still thinking of our network speed with a 2015 frame of mind. I am using Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5 Update 4.My backups are sent to Amazon S3 buckets after 30 days.I am trying to do a Instant VM recovery from a Restore Point located in the S3 bucket.I ran the restore and the Log file is telling me.Restore session Status: In progress.Log (Last 2 lines)<machine name> has been recovered successfullyWaiting for user to start migrationI don’t know where to go from here. I am having a hard time finding any documentation for this.Using vSphere Client version 6.7.0.46000Any help would be appreciated. 

Can any one speak to Pure FlashArray//C Dedupe/Compression in combination with Veeam space efficiencies? Can Pure still get 3:1 after Veeam does its thing? I’m getting mixed messages on this. Thanks in advance!

Hello, we are using file-to-tape jobs to archive old files like pst files. After running the file-to-tape job we delete the files on the file-system.In the Veeam B&R console you can find the archived files in the “files” section and you can search the file name. This information is stored in the tape catalog data and you can find this by double clicking on the tapes, too. So this information is saved in the database, but how can i migrate or export/import this information to another veeam server? I am currently migrating some smaller Veeam server together to one single management server and the smaller server will be used as backup proxy. (without db) So on a new Veeam server i will get this information only by doing a inventory and catalog of all the old tapes.Is there another solution for this ?  

Hi,    One of my customer currently has “Veeam Availability Suite” License and has “Veeam One” Deployed. They did a Failover and Failback of a Single VM Manually using the VBR console and would like to get a report from Veeam One with the following information:Start time of the Failover. Time it took for the failover. Amount of Data Replicated during the failover. Start time of the Failback. Time it took for the Failback. Amount of Data Replicated during the Failback.I have checked Veeamone and unable to find a report that can provide this information. Is there anyway without using “Veeam Disaster Recovery Orchestrator” to get this information. ThanksRavi

Hello, I have been asked by one of Veeam partners about my take if it comes to Veeam support for VMware Horizon VDI platform, despite the choice of taking the POC option I also chose to take your input on this. Considering that VMware Horizon VDI is based on ESXi, do we still consider the desktops(Instances) or sockets as unit of licensing?  If so, is there any operational implication or/and limitation if it comes to operations and protection of the VMware Horizon components?  Just to mention I was able to get this old article (posted 2011) but with many Veeam versions since then I decided not to fully reference ithttps://forums.veeam.com/vmware-vsphere-f24/vmware-view-best-practices-backing-up-vdi-server-clients-t6517.html

Has anyone set up a Scale-out Backup Repository using an Azure DataBox?  Having certificate issues for all the jobs copying (from the Repository)to the DataBox.

Hello,I need recommendations and perhaps solution on this issue. I have got to archive on-premise data to Microsoft azure.When I got to the point where I had to scale out repositories, I keep getting an error that the target repository is being used for jobs.I tried creating another repository but it got to a point the wizard asked if I will be Ref file type to format and had to stop because I don't know if that will format the entire volume that the backup jobs resides.Kindly help on what to do.Thanks. 

Hi all!With the release of Veeam Backup & Replication version 11, the following KB article is continuously updated to reflect the most recent patch available: KB4126: Release Notes for Veeam Backup & Replication 11 Cumulative Patches.Since there is no easy way to subscribe to Veeam updates in general, I have personally setup a monitor on https://visualping.io. It has been very helpful to configure a monitor to this support article, to get notified via e-mail every time there is a new patch available.As a bonus, you have 65 free scans per month. When provisioning public IP addresses within VCC there isn’t a mechanism that allows to assign/unassign public IP addresses to specific customers. Scenario: I have multiple IP address blocks, each with a different default gateway, if I pre-populate these various blocks into VCC, it will pick an IP address at random, regardless of the primary IP, subnet and default GW assigned to the NEA with no way of correcting this. The only workaround is to keep only the IP addresses in use within the configuration and when expanding the number of IP addresses used by a customer, provisioning the addition IP into the VCC configuration and then immediately increasing the public IP count for that customer by the number of additional IP required. This causes headaches if a customer outgrows the available IP addresses within a scope and requires a lot of work to reconfigure failover plans etc vs a centralised management. How does everybody else deal with this
