Hey guys,I read in veeam helpcenter document that for external repository the backups are created by veeam backup appliance of cloud. Can't the backups in the repository be of another backup software that is not of veeam?

Hey guys, I have a customer who has deployed veeam backup in two locations for backing up their workloads. Both veeam servers were on a different version(v11a and v11). A month ago the server running v11 ran into a issue and was cleared and I performed a patch update to make sure that they don’t run into that issue. This week we wanted to run a veeam cdp on v11a but the target server we tried to add issued a warning saying the target machine actively refused it. Does the patch update in v11 has something to do with it because this patch update has cdp support for vsphere or is it because of an issue from vmware?

There is File share server having volume X shared with RDS to keep the User Profile Disks (UPD). We want to backup the UPDs so planning to add the file share server in Veeam B&R as file server & create a backup job to backup volume X.Question 1→ If a user is logged-in to session host, meaning the UPD (VHDx file) of that user is mounted from the file share server to session host & same time the backup job run to backup volume X. Will there be problem with the VHDx, which is mounted to session host?Question2 → What is best way to backup File share server having UPDs of RDS ?

Good morning I wanted information.I have a vmware environment and with veaam I backup the VMs.I wanted to know how I can remove an esx host from veeam licenses and thus freeing 2 sockets assign the license to another esx host. attached in file 1 I want to revoke socket for 172.40.0.14 and I want to assign it to another esx host that is managed by the same vcenter. kind regards 

Hey guys,Yesterday, I added a vCenter infrastructure to veeam but I got a warning saying the target machine actively refused it. Can anyone give a reason for that and suggest what needs to be done?

If you setup a VBR agent based backup on a machine that has 3 volumes listed in the OS (one volume being the VBR backup repository), and you set the backup type to entire computer; VBR by default will backup all 3 volumes listed in the OS, including the backup repository volume, correct? For context, in this scenario, the Veeam repository volume points to a NAS setup via iscsi initiator.

Today I’ve discovered an interesting blog article about the VMware vCenter Converter. Apparently VMware has removed it from the Downloads, so it’s no longer available for the public. We are running 11a with IBM SVC storage integration and storage snapshots. On our Linux proxies there are regularly leftover multipath devices. In the case below the only mapped device at this time is the 5GB disk (mpatha, for testing). There is no backup running anymore, no 10 TB disk should be there. Is there a need to deploy backup proxy for veeam agent backup? 

Hey guys,I read in helpcenter document that you can deploy a dedicated distribution server to reduce the workload on backup server for agent backups. If have multiple agents to backup, can I use the same distribution server for all the agents?

Greetings, I have been searching for a bit now and have not come across an answer to this.  I was wondering if there was a way to export the actual backup job settings and import into another server that already has existing backups.I have multiple Veeam servers I would like to consolidate into one server. I have moved the backup files and rescanned the storage, that part all looks good. What I am unable to figure out is a way to just get the backup jobs onto the new server, and repoint to the storage I have moved the files to.Is there a way to do this without recreating all the jobs?

Confused on what to do with the monthly license review.  This has started popping up on us in the last few days in the backup program (though we’ve been using Veeam already for months...not sure why it’s deciding to start appearing now)We rent a license from a 3rd-party provider.  It’s in their name.I don’t have the “submit” option available when I view the report.  I can only print or save it.  I have a pdf of the file now, but have no clue what to do with it.  Apparently creating the pdf also caused the message to go away every time the program was launched.  Is this all I have to do?  It referenced having to submit it to Veeam, but I have no way of doing that.As far as I am aware, I do not have any access to the Veeam Cloud to send this to you.  Do I just send this pdf to my 3rd-party provider to submit on my behalf?  If so, will my backup program automatically know when they submit the report so I don’t hit the “must submit by” date?

Hello, I have a Veeam server that backs up a Win server 2016 server located at another location.  Veeam connects to this VM over a SDWAN connection (Zerotier)  This has worked perfectly for years.  All of a sudden, a few days ago, it started failing.  I uninstalled all components (Veeam Agent) from the server, then redeployed the agent.  I can ping the remote server, install the veeam agent, etc on it.  But when I run the job, I get an error:  “Error: Failed to connect to remote backup service.”   Any ideas what could cause this?
