What would you want in a Hardened Repository Workshop Video?

I want to do an end-to-end workshop video and guide on how to configure and set up the Veeam Hardened repository. Not everyone has the comfort in Linux to do this on their own or at least without help. What kind of things would you want covered?Some scope:I’m going to start with a server on the table, go from racking and stacking to data recovery Will focus on a physical server with a hardware management interface Will cover mostly the Linux steps, the B&R part is easy!Let me know what you would covered in here!

VMware Corner or Virtualization Corner Maybe?

I got to thinking the other day and wondered if adding something similar to Kubernetes Korner for VMware or even just Virtualization to cover off Hyper-V, KVM, etc.Would this be something of interest first off and @Kseniya is this something we could do after consensus?

iSCSI ReFS Storage with Synthetic Fulls + Backup Copy Job

Hello Veeam Community (probably the best one)One topic came to my mind today when I was going a little bit deeper into FastClone with ReFS.The question is this:On the primary site, Plan is to have VM with ReFS storage connected with iSCSI Initiator to Synology.With that infrastructure we will enable Synthetic Full Backups which will have FastClone enabled.Now, because I’m referencing my Backup Copy Jobs to the main Backup Jobs I want to know how this will work in above scenario.Since FastClone creates Synthetic Full with only references to the previous backups in the chain, what will then I have on my secondary site when that Synthetic Full backup is transferred to the secondary site?Will I have only references to the backups that are located in the Primary site (that is probably something that all of us don't want) since that is what that file is consistent off or it will have references to the already copied Backups on the Secondary site? In case if we lose our Primary Site than our

O365 and Cloud

Just want to run this by all the Service Provider Gurus here. It seems that for Multi-tenant O365 Veeam no longer wants you to place the console on the Cloud Connect server. Instead you install it separately and have it connected to the VSPC and expose a portal for restores. The old method of having the CC tenants go through the SP in the local VBR server is not seen as the optimal option. This diagram from the BP would suggest this: Does that sound correct? I have been away from O365 for a bit now and the world is changing.

Simultaneously backup to Tape and Veeam Plugin backup to Veeam server

Hi Veeam,Currently one of our customer using RMAN to backup there oracle database to the tape. They want to use Veeam RMAN plugin backup to the Veeam repository but the problem is they don’t want to completely stop the backup to tape.They are requesting there is any possible way to simultaneously backup their Oracle database to tape and also to RMAN plugin backup.They are having huge concern on RMAN plugin configuration. Because below RMAN configuration parameters will get updated automatically after plugin installation .CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE TO 1; # defaultCONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE SBT_TAPE TO 1; # defaultCONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE 'SBT_TAPE' PARMS 'ENV=(OB_DEVICE=tape1)';which will lead them interupt in current Tape backup. Anyone have issues with Object Storage with Billions of Gets/Puts/Lists of small byte files from v12?

I am soliciting feedback from the community and Vanguards in Slack about an issue we are seeing so wanted to get feedback here also.Scenario - we have a customer using v12 with latest patches sending data to one of our DCs with Hitachi HCP Cloud Scale cluster which is very large. They are sending over 20PB of data to us.Object Lock is turned on for some of the buckets and we are seeing billions of gets/puts/list commands which is causing havoc on the cluster worker nodes for HCPCS.The client has configured their jobs with the default block size of 1MB and we were thinking to change that to 4MB, but it would not make sense for 106-byte files. That is the sizing of the files we are seeing the issue on for three buckets of which 2 of them are Windows servers and one is Linux.Any thoughts or has anyone run in to this before? I am working with Veeam and Hitachi together as well but if this rings a bell for anyone your input would be great.Thanks.

BCJ v12 - direct to object vrs VCC-B - discuss

List of Tapes and load count

I have a lot of tapes and multiple libraries. I recently had a few failures, and wanted to check how many times each tape has been loaded and either read or written too to see if there is a trend with the oldest ones. I created a little script to do this, and figured I’d sort it from the most loads at the top. Is such a disk still in use? Yes it is!
