Due to recent events, I thought I would share a blog post I wrote a while back on how to add Veeam Recovery ISO to Window’s Boot Menu. Need to release space from disk and copy all Veeam jobs to tape. We can then delete all jobs from disk and extend the space. What process can we use in Veeam so that all jobs are in tape and jobs can be deleted from disk.

Microsoft Exchange Writer missing in my Exchange Server, I tried restart the services of MSExchangeIS service and VSS service, the Exchange Writer still missing in VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS. May I ask is there any solution about this issue ?

I just did a basic setup of AWS backups in Veeam Backup and Rep.  As far as I can see, it’s basically just creating snapshots in AWS, which is almost useless because that isn’t a real backup.We want the AWS backups stored in our on-prem repository, just as our vSphere backups are.  How do we do get it store the backups in our on-prem repository rather than in AWS?

Few months ago I have installed Veeam 12.0 community edition in my PC. Later now few days before I received an update notification for 12.1. After downloading the ISO file and trying to open the setup.exe I got the error “Unable to access the disk: access denied” like that. So I decided to uninstall the current veeam and then go for a fresh install. At that time it didnt let me to uninstall even. So I manually deleted all the folders and registry entries entirely from the system except these keys which are in the picture right now. Whatever I do these entries are never going off.  

Edition = latest edition of Veeam Community Edition -I successfully right-mouse click the menu area and enabled Home so that Backup Jobs are visible in Community Edition.-I then successfully created a backup job using local administrator as Veeam Community Edition will only run the backup job with local administrator not any other local user with administrator permissions.-I then successfully completed a backup.-Initially, I was using Backup1 as the backup repository. I then went on to use another backup repository of Backup2. I have completed backups using Backup2 and want to remove the backup repository of Backup1. It shows Backup1 as unavailable which is correct. When I right-mouse click to remove Backup1, it says: “Backup1 is used for configuration backup. Open configuration backup settings and choose another backup repository first.”I do not see any menu option or area that defines Configuration Backup Settings. Where is it?

Just installed brand new Widnows 10 VM, installed 12.1 veeam backup and replication but what ever I do this does not work.  Checked and all services are running  any thoughts would be much appreciated. 

I have a problem with starting the service The power supply cuts more than two hours after the power goes back on, the server starts working. Then the date of taking the backup is not taken and when the connection veeam work appears "failed to connect to veeam backup & replication server" After this start veeam services & start SQL serves are done manually after this is done naturally. please help.thanks regard 

Hello,I try to do file restore using Veeam Agent for Windows, then after sometimes i got error ‘connection to veeam agent for microsoft windows is not available’. Someone know why?

Hello. I create backup job with RMAN plugin. When I started backup it is running normal and taking backup. I also selected in configuration to delete archive logs after completing backup. Backup completed successfully but not delete archive logs from DB. Can you please help me to solve this problem ? Thanks in advance

I wonder when is the Linux Veeam Backup Appliance will be released ?Because yesterday we are impacted with the CrowdStrike Falcon incident which caused the Backup server and the Backup Proxy to be encrypted. Only the Immutable Repo is not impacted with this incident.

I’m just learning this software and I was wondering what were to happen if my backup server computer was destroyed or something went wrong and how I would be able to access the backup from a new computers server?I saw this article:  https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/vsphere/importing_backups.html?ver=120But it mentions:The server from which you plan to import backups must be added to the backup infrastructure. Otherwise, you will not be able to access backup files.So I am wondering - how can I add that server to a new computers server if the original server is gone?  Would this mean those backups are never able to be recovered?

Hello,Next year i will buy dedicated BareMetal server for VBR, tape drive and Azure HCI node for hypervisor.Currently i propose install VBR on BareMetal server and use local hdd as repository and as tape server also.Also i have another thought to install linux on the BareMetal and install VBR on the VM inside Azure HCI. But with this scenario, can i use that linux server as tape server also?Which two scenario above is best and whether anyone here have another best scenario also?

Hopefully someone here can help me:I have two Windows Clusters, one in Site A and one in Site B.  Inside these windows clusters are two Windows File Server Clusters as guest clusters consisting of three nodes in Site A (FS_CLUSA) and two nodes in Site B (FS_CLUSB) .  Each fileserver cluster is using a shared vhdx file as the storage volume.Ideally I would like to replicate FS_CLUSA → FS_CLUSB however Veeam does not support replication of virtual machines with shared VHDX or CSV volumes.We settled on the idea of simply doing a volume level backup of FS_CLUSA and restoring it to FS_CLUSB to keep the two clusters up to date (give or take a few hours).  I have been able to restore the volume from FS_CLUSA to FS_CLUSB via the console no problem, because I can specify a different target to the host.However reading the veeam powershell documentation to start to automate this process, leads me to the command Start-VBRComputerVolumeRestore (which only supports restoration to the original locati

Hi all, I want to keep my backups for a year.Storage disks are expensive, so I can't keep this daily, and I gonna use GFS. If I want to keep 1 recovery point per week for 1 year, should I set it to “48 weeks” (4 weeks * 12 months) in the 'Configure GFS' wizard?? Does it make sense to assign a Monthly GFS flag if I assign a 48 Weekly GFS flags?I'm still not sure of the best practice on how to use GFS ! ; ( Please, any advice would be appreciated.Thank you.​

One of our customers is currently using VBR 12.1. Customer is replication some VMs form Primary site to Secondary site. Customer is planning to run a script for installing some package during the replication job is running. When the VMs failback to secondary to primary customer wants run again script for uninstall the package.Is it possible to run this script during failback? If not possible what can we do in this case?Any idea?Thanks is advamce

hi all,a crwod strike update causes a BSOD loop of Windows systems.CrowdStrike update causing blue screen error for systems running Microsoft Windows: report (local12.com) Boot Windows into Safe Mode or the Windows Recovery Environment     Navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike directory     Locate the file matching “C-00000291*.sys”, and delete it.    Boot the host normally.
