Dear Expert!I need your assistance with the Veeam Backup issue. I tried numerous times to resolve this issue, but none of my ideas appear to be effective. Could you please provide any suggestions for resolving this problem?Error Message: Unexpected packet type: [%1]. Unable to retrieve next block transmission command. Number of already processed blocks: [997]. Failed to download disk. read: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host Failed to upload disk. I try to restore my bare metal server using veeam recovery media to VMware esxi.When i try to restore i got warning ‘OS disk in backup uses MBR disk’, then i check the created VM using EFI.I try change from EFI to BIOS then do same thing, then the recovery media say different warning. The waring now say ‘OS disk in backup use GPT disk.So why with same backup file, the warning message is different?

Over the years we have encountered lots of situations where other engineers disable a job with the intention of returning later of after a day or so to enable the job, but this never happens.There are 100+ reasons to disable a job but lots of times, a job is disabled with the intention of enabling it shortly after. We just do not have the correct option to use.It would be nice if instead of disabling a job we had the option to PAUSE FOR 30m, 60m, 90m, 1day, 2days, 1week, custom length. -MarioPS. Hi Veeam community, is it possible to backup AWS Storage Gateway Volume Gateway EBS volumes using Veeam for AWS 8.0 or Veeam BR 12 or any Veeam product for that matter?

i am trying free tier of Veeam, Proxmox and AWSI have a Proxmox VE community edition installed on an old PC 5TB Hard drive, I would like to try to backup a ec2 instance from AWS Free tier and store all data to my Proxmox, Veam VM is installed in my proxmoxis this possible 100% no cost ?any document, links or suggestion for me to test this situation is appreciated.

Is it possible using Veeam to create a bootable clone of a system disk to a second local drive? I don’t want to have to use recovery media to restore the OS.I have a server with two physical spinning disks that are not RAIDed (can’t rebuild the server to do this) so I want to create a bootable clone. There are numerous free tools out there, but as we already use Veeam I thought I’d find out if it can do this first. Thanks

When we add user from Entra ID, how long this user will be shown in VDC?I try add new created uses on Entra ID as VDC admin user but even wait more than 10 minutes, the new user still not showing.

Over the holidays our Veeam QA/DEV teams working at Veeam speed validated AOS 7.0. There is no new enhancements in this version for VBN AHV v7. It was requested by our joint customers. We are also validating AOS 6.8.1.6 which is TBD at the moment. Trying to upgrade Veeam from 12.0 to 12.1, and the original installer has left. How would we reset the credentials so we can perform the update? We thought our service account was used but apparently not. All attempts to update have failed so far. Part of the issue is most NASA accounts require PIV card authentication, and I don’t know if that plays well with a Veeam update. The service account is PIV exempt. The current version is pushing an old version of the kmod veeamsnap that won’t work with the current RH kernel. Why don’t we just rebuild the kmod in the fly every time a new kernel arrives like other kmods seem to work? Like CUDA for example.

Hi,  I have a problem with the transaction log backup.I have 4 SQL servers in one backup job.  The full backup and incremental backup are running fine.  However, the transaction log backup stop running on Nov 30.  They were running fine before it stopped.  I also have configuration set to run the transaction log backup every 8 hours and it doesn’t run neither.Here is what i have done and what I observe so far:1.  I also did something that’s suggested on the internet forum, disable and then enable the backup job.  However, the transaction log backup is still not triggered/started.2.  It seems like the transaction log backup never starts after the failure on Nov 30.  So there is no report for the transaction log backup after Nov 30.  3.  The statistic page shows the transaction log backup job failed, not pending.  So, apparently, the transaction log job is stopped or shutdown and won’t re-run4.  The Veeam server was rebooted last Saturday a

Hello everyone. A costumer of ours have a problem after the 27/12. Until this day all the backup is working fine with the incremental on the most of them take 10-20 min, sudenly on the 27/12 all the backups take to long to complete. Like 1+ hour when 1 week before the same backup is taking 10 min. On the most of them i see a 99% bottleneck on the source but when i go to investigate the source machine everythink is showing fine. ANd this situation with the bottleneck is not showing on all the backups, on some the data is look fine ( like what is looking before 27/12 ) like 40 source, 15 proxy 20 network etc but and on this jobs the timers is extremely long. Any suggestion?PS: That start a day, there no change on the infastructure or anythink that can start a befavior like this Best Regards

I hate asking newbie questions, but I’ve been through the docs more time than I care, but cannot find a simple explanation of what is actually required to perform a simple file restore.Backups are VMware based. On B&R 12.3.  I can initiate the restore process, but it hangs(timesout) when I hit the “Browse” button.  I do see the B&R server connecting to the linux server with SSH. And in the process, creates some files/folders in /tmp.  But does not appear to put anything in /var/logSame issue whether I try and restore to the same, or original server.What are the requirements for a Linux system, to be able to do a file-level restore? What does it need to connect to, what needs to connect to it.Does it, or does it not need the Linux Agent?  One of the Linux systems I tried to restore to actually has the agent.  But most of our Linux systems do not.Would be nice to find a doc that laid this all out.  But if there is I have not found it y

I have a suggestion/issue for/with the VEEAM tape handling…In the definition of a tape pool you can select that tapes from free state are transferred to this pool if required.But when tapes expire in a type pool, then the tapes keep in this tape pool in expired state and are not returned to free state.In the worst case the expired tape accumulate in this pool when there a less tapes needed as before. So the tapes in free state decreases continually and you have to manually transfer the expired tapes in the pools to free state.I think it would be useful when VEEAM does this by itself. Thenn all tape pools can get free tapes and all free tapes are shown in the correct state...What do

There were no issues when adding the vCenter, but occasionally, the host discovery fails with the following error:"Disks and volumes discovery failed. Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond."Environment details:Backup Server OS: Windows Server 2022 vCenter Port: 442 is open vCenter Version: 7.0.3Has anyone faced this issue? I have one problematic backup job that is different from my other backup jobs in that I want to use it to backup specific folders on a remote Windows server using file level backup on Veeam Backup and Replication.   Whenever the job runs, it fails with the following message:Waiting for rescan job Rescan of  Files Backup to completeUnable to process svr: host rescan is requiredNothing to process I have rescanned the Windows server multiple times but the problem persists.   I can use help solving this one.   BTW: the Veeam Windows agent is installed on the remote Windows server, so perhaps I should change the job to be run by the agent?
